Should Christians Read the Bible Every Day? | Faith/Life Podcast Ep. 119
Most Christians are told, "Read your Bible every day!" But is that really the best way to grow spiritually? In this episode, Pastors Nathan and Matt break down:
✅ Where the “daily Bible reading rule” comes from.
✅ Whether the Bible itself commands daily Scripture reading.
✅ Why guilt-based reading can do more harm than good.
✅ How to engage with Scripture in meaningful, lasting ways.
What if quality mattered more than quantity in Bible reading? Let’s rethink the approach!

Christians just never get it even when they make hour-long videos about the dilemma in which they find their churches. Christian churches hit their highest point in the 1950s under McCarthy's America rooting out the godless commies. You went to church to make sure your neighbors wouldn't turn you in as one. Ever since then, the numbers have fallen off, to where now y'all are finding it hard to pay your pastors a decent enough salary so they're not having to go moonlight overnight at Home Depot. You took out bonds and mortgages on big buildings that are expensive to maintain, but now the plate gets lighter and lighter even as the pews get grayer and emptier. You perform more funerals than baptisms. And you might even fight at business meetings about how to keep the doors open...until you don't. Nobody needs a weekly book club to be a decent person who contributes to human flourishing and the decrease of human harm. Your Christianity, your looking to some "sweet by and by when I die" isn't good enough. That might have been fine when the average human life span was like 35-40 years of miserable toil, but that's not now. And the advancing of human morality to where the average person is more moral than the god described in that bible is surely not helping things for y'all. I got out when I finally read the thing cover to cover, cringing every page. WRT VBS shirts: Ah, yes. Get the children.

Given the choice between Chuck E. cheese pizza or Imo’s pizza, which were my only choices while living in St. Louis, Chuck E. Cheese won out. Thankfully, my son was 4 yo at the time, so I did not look out of place eating there as an adult! God truly does indeed provide a way of rescue and salvation in all circumstances.

The worst pizza is Imo’s St. Louis style. It is made with a sweet sauce, sweet Provel cheese and a very thin crust that is not cooked to crispiness. It’s a soggy mess of gross sweetness. Not want I want in a pizza. And it is cut into small squares.😛

Now what? I do not claim to be a prophetess. I just know what the Lord has spoken… “Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him-but some of them doubted! Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭16‬-‭20‬ Maranatha! 🙏

MEN... Satan & His children have plenty of reasons to undermine our faith in whichever Bible actually is accurate. They're perfectly okay with you believing that no Bible is perfectly preserved, and perfectly accurate today. If you take the bait, then you have nothing to accurately judge (THEM) by, and they know it. God answered ME (DIRECTLY,) this very question a quarter century ago. Do you think God wants YOU to spend a lifetime confused, and in debate, as to which Bible is accurate...so that you can never make a y righteous judgement on anything or anyone, including yourself? MEN. Read Jeremiah 29:13 and then apply it until HE shows you if he has perfectly preserved his word from generation to generation...as He did myself, in late 1999.

35:17 yes making the church easy come easy go and not requiring real life change is a reason for weak Christians. And how can we expect weak Christians to birth strong Christians? Hence why we need to focus on true discipleship and personal spiritual growth looking more and more like Jesus and less and less like my old self each and every day.
