Dodgers & Yankees: The Greatest World Series Rivalry
The Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees have faced off four times to decide the world championship. It's a rivalry of two historic franchises that dates back to when both resided in the Big Apple. But they haven't met in the Fall Classic since 1981. Those encounters have included classic moments from legends Sandy Koufax and Reggie Jackson that are still remembered in World Series lore.

As a Braves fan this series was heartbreaking for me. A break here and a break there and it could of went the other way for the Braves, until this day this World Series is still haunting for me, but the Twins made the plays to become champions.

That was ME and my friend Bob up there in the left field upper deck keeping track of Dwight's strikeouts in The K Korner........and all these years later I'm still very grateful that we had the opportunity to entertain the fans and make them SMILE.........I can tell you that it was so much FUN counting down the K's after he got each one and we'd hang another one from the railing in front of us. I want to thank the Mets fans who were so nice to us and for all their enthusiasm..........Believe it or not, after the 1986 World Series had ended, the Baseball Hall of Fame contacted me and asked me to donate one of my K's, and it's still on display today !!!

I wonder what Pendleton was angrily pointing at his dugout for when he got back to first base…I mean other than the fact that Puckett caught the ball.

Love the reaction from Danny Heep in the outfield, putting his hands on his head in disbelief. I doubt he was half as upset that the Mets might lose the game as he was that he didn’t get to get the hell out of there. It was like 2:00 AM by that point.

This man was the best pitcher in MLB for about 3 years! Just a phenom! So glad I grew up watching him in action! I am a Yankee fan but I was a fan and pulled for that star studded 86 team’ tremendous, Doc, Daryl, Dykstra, Hernandez, , Carter, mookie Wilson , HoJO, Jesse Orosco! I mean tremendous! and Bucky Dent of course - lmao 🤣

Yeah, have to admit that the Mets owned that city like no other team did before. Just the truth. Even Yankee fans rooted for them, yet they won't admit it now, but they did. I know a slew of them that did.

Boooos for Barry Bonds really brought that back. As a LA Dodgers fan Matty Williams would have got some too. But no one has ever been hated like that. Ruth maybe? Barry’s face says it all though. You see he was the reigning back to back NL MVP and winner of 3 of last 4 seasons. Totaled 5 for career and you know what sometimes booos like that really means RESPECT. I think he knew that. Go big Mikey! Piazza was previous season’s ROY for NL and Rauuuuuullll Mondesi would win in 94 making 3 in a row with Eric Karros in 92 and ending with Todd Hollandsworth in 95 for 4 in a row AGAIN.
