    I own one of these and stopped gigging with it a long time ago. It sounds great when it is in good working order, however I had to get some tubes and caps replaced before it was even five years old. To try and make it last it is a good idea to have a big fan running behind it. The channel switching is a nice option and get a stereo Y-cable for the effects loop. I never had the need to use an overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedal with this amp. The channel switching button on top is finicky so use a footswitch instead. It was a good idea to put casters on the bottom.

      Nothing to worry about as long as you take care of it. As we suggest our customers to give their gear cleaning and maintenance every year or so. For example if dust builds up, jacks began to give faulty contacts. This particular model has the smps power supply and the class d power amp all in one board, and dusting it off makes heat dissipation better. Enjoy your amp and taking care of it will make it last years.

      @@CamposCaster eres bienvenido!

Hi, being honest the amp in the video was a real mess, due to several attempts of modding/fixing by other people. Speaking of your problem, if hum is not tube related(maybe a faulty tube) and you get hum noise as soon as you power on the amp, and no matter if the volume/s are at zero or maxed out, it could be some bad caps in the filtering section of the power supply. Please if you have never worked on hi voltage tube equipment, or you are not sure where putting hands, bring it to a tech, due to high voltage involved and a crowded pcb/chassis its easy to put yourself in danger. Tube equipments are not a joke to work with. Please be safe

      @mikestormm 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Paolo, the amp sounds really nice. Clean ch(ch A) is very dinamic, chimy but has a nice bottom. Overdrive ch (ch B) is ok, doesnt have to me the wow factor, but its honest. Each channel has its own volume control so you can set to your liking, and each ch has its own reverb control too. The one in the video has 4x el84 as power tubes and a 15 inch speaker. The only downside of this amp is the cabinet, its made out of mdf and its heavy as a rock. If you find a good deal but has the cabinet not in great condition, take it and make a new cab out of plywood. You will get an overall light amp.

      Hi Chris, if I recall it right, the unit came in for repair with a 18v DC, and the gt6 with a dc powersupply wont work. Customer stated that he was using that psu as long as he remember. Maybe he was wrong! Usually customers dont tell everything. I allways recomend using the right power supply. In this pedalboard, and guessing based on what was broken, they have tried differents psu, maybe also some inverted polarity ones(very usual here). If I remember right the unit had burnt the dc dc converter for the 3.3v rail, a couple of transistors that regulates the 9v dual rails(+/-9v) and the 7805 ic(voltage regulator) was suspicious. As long as i know, based on gt6 that came in along the years, the pcb used is the same, I am sure they had some revisions along the years but nothing extraordinary. I have one of these... it has a red LED that stays on but flickers I assume with compression.

    • @mikestormm
      @mikestormm ปีที่แล้ว

      You can find in the market one with blue led and one with red led. Just as you assumed, the red led one will stay on but flickers as the compression kicks in. The blue led one, thanks to the voltage needed to stay on(higher than red one), it just flickers with the compression. If you like how the blue one behaves... just swap the led with a 3mm hi brightness blue one.

      @@mikestormm easy swap or soldering involved?

      @mikestormm ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rcb_matt unfortunatelly soldering is involved. Desolder the red one and solder in the blue, no mods no other components to change. If you need advice, reach me on instagram at Mad Custom Electronics

    I have an amp exactly like this. At the beginning of this clip you have it on the Normal channel and I see you have the bass and treble at noon and the gain and volume set to a nice clean tone with a bright and crisp sound. My amp would sound like complete mud if I had it on those settings. On either channel I have it on I need to have the treble set on maximum and it still sounds way too dark and muddy. Very frustrating. Anyway, your amp sounds terrific!!

      Thanks! Amp is from a customer and friend, and came in allmost one year ago for a full recap. If you have a local amp tech, or a friend who knows where to put fingers in the amp without getting shocked, I may begin to look to caps in general near the tone stack, and a special look to the ceramic discs capacitors... often they go bad and microphonics.

      @mikestormm ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, depends on the actual condition of the amp and price. The amp sounds good, can deliver a nice sound and offer a solid state and tube preamp option.

    Had a vintage club 30 that I used for years, got to needing the jacks and pots worked on...no body would... so I sold it. Great sounding amps.

      Sad to hear you sold the amp. It has a nice honest sounding clean ch, and a decent drive ch, with the help of an overdrive infront, the drive ch sings. Sometimes those amps come up on the used market for really little money... who knows

    Hello. I have the same processor. It came to me defective. I replaced the screen and some switches. The battery of the device was dismantled. I installed a new battery and did a factory reset, the prests and settings are fine, but I can't get sound out of the device. I can tune the guitar in my experiment with the tuner. There is no problem with the audio input, even I can see the output signal with the meter from the utility section. But there is no sound from either the headphone or the line out part. It looks like a similar problem to yours. I wonder which chips and circuits should I check? Can you help with this

      Hi, no output at the send? The level potentiometer on the back side is working? Also make sure the patch didnt have some muting function

    • @dolphindesign87
      @dolphindesign87 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikestormm I measured the potentiometer with a multimeter. Frankly, I don't know if it's mute, let me check. When I connect the guitar, I see a signal in the tuner. It measures the notes correctly. In addition, I can see the output input signal in the meter section in the utility section, only the sound does not come out.
