Why don’t you add just a few pieces of track first, put the loco on one right in front of you and then slide it sitting on the track to where you want it on your shelf, then put another one on a track section and slide that into place, and so on and so forth. Doing it like how you were doing it in the beginning looks like it takes forever and unnecessarily difficult. When it starts to get tight , then back them up like how you were doing it to the first few locos. I have a glass display case with glass shelves and that’s how I do it. Put the loco on the track section in the easiest and most convenient way, and then slide both to where you want it. Side by side, in corners, under a train bridge display, etc... Im always rearranging my model trains on shelves, in display cases with other relics I have, sometimes boxing them back up because Indont want to look at them, sometimes taking every last one out of the box and putting them all on flex track on the dining room table to make it look like a huge train yard, then I realize I didn’t put the plastic acetate holders in the correct boxes and I have to spend several hours figuring out what goes to what because I’m extremely unorganized. I have destroyed so many models it should be a crime. When I got into HO scale trains, I didn’t know how to weather cars and I bought a dremel from Walmart and marred up a bunch of $30-40+ brand mew intermountain and Athearn Genesis cars. I’m not even joking. I may have joked in some of your other videos but I am telling you the truth man. I have a box of about 50 or so cars that are all taken a part, a sack full of loco motive chassis, imderframes, weights, shells, misc wires, broken off pieces to god knows what because I have a hard time being patient and rage out when I can’t do something in 2 seconds and I have to spend 5 seconds doing it. I blow my top I get so raging mad and outta control.

If you get an atomizer from inside a vape pen and wire it up inside the smoke stack, it’s not a bad way to simulate smoke. I wonder if putting crushed up dry ice would work?

Those cars in the back almost look like a slight derailment. But I think that might be the prototypical way of how railyard workers store train cars by the engine house. You can sprinkle cut up pieces of news paper over everything if you want to simulate a prototypical HO scale snow storm.

You should leave it how it is like that. It looks neat and like a prototypical junk yard. All you need is some hot wheels cars so you can use it as a demolition derby as well. If you need some junk yard workers, get some HO scale GI Joe’s or lego people since they are HO. Don’t use vintage Star Wars figures though because they are worth money and they are G scale, not HO scale.

If you have access to an ESU Lokprogrammer then changing that incorrect GEVO-12 prime mover into an EMD 16-645E non turbo should be straightforward
