I switched my phone but my virtual card is on the old, how can I transfer?

Does anyone know of a third party app for the same effect? My uncle gave me his employee card because he used to be a bus driver and it has like 20 years worth of free rides, lol, but I am scared of losing it so I wanted to just clone it but I don't want to go through the official app because I'm scared they will somehow see and erase it or something.

Can I use this app to pay for parking at metro red line stations ?

This is just horrible UX design. How do I know the phone is ready to pay for the fare? Take a cue from Clipper up in San Francisco and make it clear the phone is ready to tap.

I loaded the TapApp on my Samsung S23 but could not get it to pay out any fare on 4 buses. Today the driver told me to turn my phone to the back side & use it. Fare paid. Why isn't this explained in the video?? Also you have to turn on your NFC button. Also you can delete the App from your phone then put it back on. I did this twice & it finally worked today.

If you are unable to find " add a tap card to your phone " on your android. I am running galaxy s23 plus. Go to settings ( or hold down your tap app for the " i " button ) > apps > tap App > clear data and cache > restarted app > and " add a tap card to your phone ", came back up. I did not try reinstalling the app, but that could work as well.

This is specifically for IPHONE they have a whole different tutorial for android. Once you add your card to your Apple wallet it gives you the option to add funds directly through your apple account connected to your bank account or card. There’s no bar code idk why some you are asking about that just simply put the phone near the tap reader and you’re good to go. Also *UPDATE* your phones.

As @dumbmoveguy stated you have to have nfc turned on and the app open on your phone for the tap card to work. Just tried today and it worked!

I just added a card to my phone and it didn't work. After much investigation, I realized the *'NFC'* needs to be enabled. That should be mentioned in this video as it's required for a Virtual Tap Card, and though by default it's supposed to be 'enabled' it may be off. This is for *Samsung/Android & iPhone*

According to Google Play it's not available on most Android devices.

gotta have NFC turned on and be on the Tap Card page in the app. I just paid my fare on android, unfortunately NFC isnt mentioned anywhere. I hope this helps

I just switched from apple to a google pixel. I downloaded a new card and every time i try to tap, i get an error. I also dont see it on my wallet

I have $10 just floating in my TAP account because even though I am running Android 11, and my NFC chip works for other things, it simply won't take the value from my account, no card gets added to my wallet, even after the app says it was added to my wallet, so I basically can't get on the bus using the app. It's essentially just taking up space on my phone. This has been a problem for months now

I don't know if it's my iPhone or possibly my case, but this never _ever_ works on buses for me. It always works fine on other TAP machines, like the types in train/busway stations, but specifically in buses (like the type shown in the video) it _never_ works on those. I always try it first just in case, but get seven quarters ready in my pocket before I board.

It doesn't even work all of the time. I'm a huge supporter of modernizing our tech but the implementation of digital TAP is a huge bust. I had a fare and a modern phone but the digital TAP card is inconsistent. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't which is terrible. It works in other countries without any issues...maybe we just aren't smart enough

Heads up. This is if your tap card is showing up as HOT-LIST on METRO and you have an android phone. Long story short, you need a new card. Get a new card, physical since this app ain't reliable. Call the helpfull staff at TAP card to transfer your balance (or other passes such as a 7 day pass, etc,) on the card. Call the school to transfer school passes from the old card to the new card. Finally, don't put your card onto the phone since this makes the physical card useless.

It did not work when I used it last time. I don't use the Metro as often as I used to anymore. I was able to use my phone a long time ago. I thought it was a good idea and stop carrying my tap card. Only to find out somehow it does not work anymore when I tried to use it last time. The bus driver was nice enough to allow me to ride for that time. However, I could have much a hard time if the driver did not allow me. I hope the issue with the app gets fixed soon. I believe public transit is an important service to maintain.
