How to go Vegan! Sit Down Video and Talk Through!
Just finished first year and stayed at Colum Place & Colum Road (I lived at both since I moved from Place to Road start of semester 2). Colum Place was very good- the 3 houses share a garden, and due to the layout of the road, it's closer to leave through the garden to go to town, so you end up meeting the other houses easily. The rooms are very spacious and the kitchen in 6 & 10 are a decent size - the kitchen in 8 is slightly smaller but also a decent size. Convenient distance away from everything & cheap. Laundry room is literally 2 seconds away. Colum Road I've only seen my house that I lived in- the kitchen was massive and the rooms were decent/big. It's not as easy meeting your neighbours as it was for Colum Place but you still have a garden which is nice (at least my house did). Again, convenient distance away (slightly closer to town than Colum Place) but also that means you have to lug your laundry further than if you were living at Colum Place. Overall very good accommodation, not well known but I am very glad I ended up accepting my offer for it. I would 100% put it as my first choice if I was a fresher again, although whether you get Colum road or Colum place is random. Either way good accom (I heard literally nothing about this accommodation before I moved to uni so hope this helps someone).
If you are doing masters, it is the most important year n you can't afford to search another place once the program starts.
@22mins yes it's always been like that. Waste of tuition fees. Not good for mental health. The drinking, parties, and alarm. Such a nightmare. But so is column road. Avoid talybont at all cost.
The whole talybont is fine and convenient in terms of Tesco, social, Taff, laundry and all BUT at the same time it's a.nightmare thanks to the drunk crowd and fire alarm. Not good at all.
How about they don’t need you to tell them that their lives matter. All of our lives matter as we are all gods children. What give you or anyone else the right to chose who’s life matters and who’s doesn’t. Also there are about 100 million slaves today in Africa go save them.
im so upset i got uni halls i wanted to be in the centre of cardff :(
How is it?
I actually really love it, i’ve made some really great friends in uni halls that I wouldn’t have even met if i didn’t get put this bad accom hahahah. so happy :)
Hey, can u tell me about the bed size? Is it a single bed, or more like a double? Thanks
I’m doing journalism and communications in September, how far is the JOMEC building from Senghennyd hall?
Thanks for everything.....You are cute though...
Which accommodation is closest/most convenient when doing journalism?
So do they have masters in media and communications studies? Thank you
Hiya I’m moving here this week! Do you have storage under the bed? Or is it empty? x
Hey I’m coming to Cardiff business school. Could you please suggest the accommodation?
Do you have to do a lot of like timed exams like how a levels are? I’m trying to avoid doing a degree with lots of assessments as I’m much better at essays and visual exams xx
I’m thinking of applying to the sengs- would you say they’re very lively or is it more quiet ?
They’re probably more on the quieter side but they are so close to the city centre that if you want a lively night out you can definitely get that :))
Hi Miah, what is the difference between campus and outside campus accommodations, in terms of expense or what are pros and cons?
Hiya! Omg Idk why the views are so less, this was so helpful ! Cardiff is one of my choices for my Masters! Also, could you speak more about the city and people in general? I will be joining from India xx
And would you say there is a community feel in the Uni? Because normally in bigger unis like Manchester, it is quite hard to have it.
Can also make study videos
Nice, please make useful and helpful videos and informative videos and sensible videos like receipes videos DIYs videos for example. Instead of vlogs, personal vlogs, time pass vlogs, diml vlogs, unnecessary talking etc unuseful stuffs please
Pleaseeee help me out!
Thank you so much for the tips Could you please me me out with my personal statement for my undergraduate degree, pleaseeeee!🙏
Looking forward to see more videos about Cardiff city
What is the difference between presentation and seminar?
Hi, my daughter just started at Cardiff and is at Talybont North. I want to start looking for alternative accomodation for her 2nd year, can you recommend any good estate agent or web pages to assist me ?
Hi! That’s great, I hope she is enjoying her first year! Cardiff student lettings is a good place to start, they have an office in the student’s union. John Winters is good for student houses (houses with 5+ bedrooms). Also student cribs I’ve heard are good :))
Hi, was wondering can you take the languages for all alongside the welsh for all course? Id like to do welsh + another language :)
Yes I am sure you can! :))
Is there a limit to how many you can join?
No, there isn’t!
The vegan society sounds cool 😊

Miah, are vegan?
Yes I am!
Hi Miah, Thank you for your great video.
The mashed potato sandwich actually sounds really good 😂
Hahah thanks!
I love the pasta.
Thanks for your great Videos, I always watch to end. You are such a great student.
Thank you so much
This sounds so cool! I speak English and Welsh and would like to maybe learn Spanish or German 😊
That’s awesome!
Thanks quite informative. Looking forward to living expense video. Also if u please tell about partime jobs n internship n any paid jobs to meet this expenses what is yr take
So mainly from student loans, and from my parents helping out but I do currently have 2 online jobs as well :))
@@miahhd9526 Thanks Mia it's great help. Yes v r also trying to take loan n also provide from our resources. But having a shortfall of some amt and was very concerned about it as parents as v r from India. N unknowing how it's going to be there to earn monetarily as part-time. Online jobs available is a very good step. If u can make a video sharing online jobs n part-time job available in Cardiff will be helpful
Mia, thanks my son will be in Cardiff next year. N v were also planning to look for his accomodation n this room tour really helped us. Can u tell me what would this cost as v r not from UK n tell me when is the right time to make a great deal ...pricewise. also how far it's From the student union as my study will be around there. He is going to be thr for PGraduate. Thanks dear ❤️
Hi! So I am in non-university accommodation this year, and it costs around £7000 for the whole year including bills, and wifi etc! It doesn’t really matter when the right time is, but I’d start looking into it February/March. Where I am is a little bit far from the student union building, but a very easy 20 minute walk. I would recommend looking at university accommodation too because it’s usually cheaper and sometimes closer to the student Union :))
Thanks for your great video. I love all your videos. Can work part-time and manage to study at Cardiff University? or should focus on studying? Also is it hard to get good marks?
Awww thank you! I would say it depends on your course. For me, I can easily have a part time job and do an internship on top of my studies. Remind me, what course are you doing , I can’t remember if you’ve already told me! Also if you start an assignment as soon as it is given to you and work really hard on it way before the deadline then you should get a good mark. For my course, it’s all about referencing and being analytical so once you know how to do that it’s not too hard. But again, that depends on the course you are doing :)))
@@miahhd9526 Much appreciated, Mia, Do you have Instagram I can contact you pls?
Thank you this was very helpful! I’m hoping to study archaeology in Cardiff uni 😊
Thanks for your great videos, could you please talk about expensses?
You’re welcome! And yes I’ll film a video about expenses soon, will probably be uploaded in a few weeks :))
@@miahhd9526 Much appreciated your reply, one more question is, I have conditional admission from two Universities, 1. Cardiff University 2. Bedfordshire University. Does University ranking matter in the UK when it comes to find a job or persuade further study?
@@vashsam3467 so university ranking isn’t necessarily too important but I would say recognition is, Cardiff, as the capital of Wales, is a well know city in the UK, therefore Cardiff University is a well know university amongst professionals…I hope that makes sense!
Love this
Hi Miah, May I ask, please is the accommodation on the campus of the University or outside the campus?
Cardiff University isn’t a campus university, all the buildings are around the city :))
Noice vid!
cool! I'm studying English with your video. As an university student myself I found the content interesting.... Do you speak with a Cardiff accent?
Awesome! Thank you :)) And no, my accent is English, I’m from the south of England!
@@miahhd9526 your accent sounds great. I'll keep on watching your videos!
Is it an obligation for students in Cardiff Uni to join at least one of those societies ?
No, you don’t have to join any if you don’t want to :))
@@miahhd9526 I see, thanks for the info
@@miahhd9526 i wish to join one any leads kindly
put this vid on 1.25x speed and that made it so much more bearable lol
going taly court in sept :) can’t wait hehe xxx
How was it?!
Thank you! This would help me because am joining in September 😊.
