Hello I am Don and I live in Iowa! Most of my videos will come from my hometown area of Waterloo/ Cedar Falls area! But I always get out to different areas I have enjoyed trains all of my life! My favorite trains of all is the UP steam engines! Side note i dont go out as much due to lack of train activity. I also have autism.

Very nice

Good question
Wow a CN with a DPU i have not seen that around here much.

I just wish that BNSF would rename itself Santa Fe Railway and bring back the blue and yellow and red and silver warbonnets back!
@@armandoperez7967 agreed!
Best thumbnail ever
Love the train meets good catch

Woo hoo first to comment again very nice
First to comment very nice catch 0:10
Awesome video! WOW! I love how great recently repainted ATSF 537 looks!!!! This is the first of these models preserved; it would be awesome if BNSF donated another one so a pair could pull trains. Now, RRHMA most likely will offer trips on IAIS first. I was here June 29, 2024 for their "Walk Amongst the Giants" fundraiser (I am 'RJ' who commented on Facebook). This was amazing! I saw 537 in primer gray in the paint booth! Oh yeah, also seeing NRE equipment still on the property was great! They still use half the building and are leasing it to RRHMA for a few years. But, their stuff will be gone fairly soon. Man I was so happy to photograph Hudson Bay Railway SD50 # 5003 inside the shop in June! They were prepping its movement to another NRE facility, likely Paducah, KY. I think the one seen in the background at 0.46 in your video is # 5007! These are good to catch; I have been trying for years! Someday I hope to catch the two operating green SD50s (unfortunately patched) operating on Illinois Railway! These are still cool, especially lettered for Hudson Bay Railway! There used to be eleven of these I believe from numbers 5000 through 5010! They were brought to Illinois after short service in Manitoba! Hey, also seeing NREX 8683 still in CR paint in June was great for me too! This was still the month CR was split by NS and CSX 25 years ago!!!!! This engine is used for "Load Testing" by NRE! They tack it on to an engine to test and pull it around for weight! They also did this with operational UP DDA40X # 6936 here recently! Last time before 2024 I was at Silvis was in July 2011 for Train Festival at Rock Island, IL! I witnessed so many engines at NRE back then, but the property was off limits! Man it is awesome to go inside the old Rock Island shops now! Thank You RRHMA!!!!! 😁 RJ (from Michigan)
@@trains2495 thank you!
@@donsteilsrailfanproduction4014, you are Welcome! 😉 RJ
I wonder if they'll rebuild those SD70's eventually
@@JodyK1992 time will tell but I would not be surprised
Agreed fully
The CPKC paint. meh. Looks more CP than KC. Kind of like what happened to ATSF after the merger. Everything not already painted (or ordered) in BN Heritage or ATSF Warbonnets was turned into Great Northern. Lame. Now, that 537! DAMN! Those were the days trackside! 537 was part of the first order, without the gull wing cab for coal operations at York Canyon.
Very cool stuff!!!
Very nice
I thought those high autoracks at 0:10 were retired! Are they still in use?
Saludos
Hermosas locomotoras
Man I love the War Bonnet livery. I just wish BNSF made heritage units.. with the Red Bonnet, Blue Bonnet, Yellow Bonnet, Gold Bonnet, and mythical Black Bonnet created by Lionel.
And then there's the Burlington Northern half of the company...
Nice catch Don , always like seeing them crossing that bridge. Have you heard anything about if CN is going to repaint locomotives in their colors?
@@davidpierce1837 I have not however it's always possible
@@donsteilsrailfanproduction4014 From what I've heard is that the locomotives will go with a patch for a little while, making it known that they are CN's property. From there, they'll slowly get repainted and might have a stencil showing that it was originally IANR's.
Great video well done!
I love that Santa Fe B40-8W no. 537, what a classic locomotive.
I really like 5511’s whistle. 5511 fans go crazy. Lol
One more thing am I hearing rumors about RRHMA going to restore a BN mac?!!???
@@Railfan-uf9mw it's just a rumor
7:28 was that 5511s whistle they had on the 85?
@@paytongauthier6452 yes
@@donsteilsrailfanproduction4014 nice
Dang, even after 60+ years of no steam it sounds so healthy
I was at this yard
Better than Disneyland! 🤠👍

Amazing video!
Great video! It's beautiful that Santa Fe 537 gleems in the sunshine.
I was there! I also rode on the steam loco
Where’s the 6988?
@@jacksonpugh6423 Got towed back to Newton 2 months ago until its rebuild/1472 can take place. RRHMA needs shop space and 6988/7081 isnt owned by them
@@donsteilsrailfanproduction4014 Will they ever come back?
BTW another DD40X is on the move to restoration it's UP 6925!!!
Get your engines right it's 6936
@@Railfan-uf9mw I know, I’m talking about IAIS #6988
ATSF 537 as it would've been rolling out the shops. Congrats to the team I was PUMPED when i saw the news online.
From far away I thought that CPKC locomotive was Awvr 767 from unstoppable lol
Santa Fe! All the Way!
OG ex Conrail!!!! @ 1:59!!!!!
Very nice. I should be getting my video done later this week. Which shop tour were you on?
@@BadgerlandRailVideos 1130
@@donsteilsrailfanproduction4014 Ah. That would explain why I don't see myself in your video. I was on the 1100 train and the 1330 shop tour.
I like that Santa Fe Dash 8 I wish if BNSF they would operate that locomotive
There are other ones besides that in service still . Come up to Minnesota and there’s two of them active!
@@Minnesota_Rails yeah because I go to the Galveston Tx to go to the BNSF yard I saw some 8 Dash8s by the are abandoned and retired that they don’t run them I wish that BNSF would keep the locomotives
Plenty in Minnesota.
@@ryanfrogz for sure 👍
Very cool!
Was there on the 18th and was first to see the new paint on 537 it looks amazing
Awesome
