thanks Tony i have decided to fit the door frame panel as you say it will add some strength and allso some allignment for the inner wing and the floor cheers

Glad someones watching but if you were in school would have to send a note home to your parents that you have not been paying attention in class or you missed a lesson i showed a picture of the inner closure panel in an earlier video and i will show it in the next video and where it goes :):):):) i have followed your recent posts and they will be a good reference as i have the floor pans yet to do not sure if i will start the floor pan next or the inner wing when i finish the door opening I have the floor pans not heritage they are magnam will have to see how they fit if they are ok all well and good if not have to buy better ones as i do not have the inner wing so will have to see how long before they can deliver the other parts took nearly 2 weeks

I’m with you on that mini shorts! A few others have briefly gone over the A posts in vids but not as clear as this video! Very useful reference to look too when doing your own! Well done

Cheers should be able to up load evey couple of days the work is the easy part the videoing is all new not sure what people want to see

classic birthday mini I look forward to it, just document the bits you want, and run though the process I am sure people would be interested to see how the panels go together. I hope this helps 👍

Hi Sean i agree its just if i donn,t say it then my wallet does not go into panic mode :):):) but yes i,m almost sure i will. I have the flitch panels for both sides but as you know they do not go to the top only just above the vent so i was prepared to to make a panel to fit the top but now with this other hole and probably when i remove the shock mount it will most likely be rusted under there it will have to go

cheers mate still waiting for panels (bloody virus) won,t be any long welding will prob be just tacks and plugs but then i will prob move on to the floor then we will have some long welds :):)

cheers still learning its not the work so much as the video been working on cars most of my life but it has been many many years since i woorked on a mini

best laid plans of mice and men scuppered by the virus (delivery's) cheers mate its good to know some one watches and comments

@@briun11 frustrating I'm sure, take the time to have a practice with the camera and video editing. Be good if you had a way to show close ups of the work happening.

CHEERS I SEE what you mean if i use the classic mini in the title ithen it shows up if i search for videos on classic mini thats the best bit of advise so far do you use a camera or a phone i use my i phone but it causes me some problems

@@briun11 I'm using a go pro currently but it's not ideal. Should probably get something better one day, but reluctant to as it gets welding and grinding sparks on it.

thanks have been waiting for my tig welder to arrive to start the welding but may have to use my old Clark Mig as my snap-on died a few weeks ago (may it rust in peace) Probably be a better job if i can remember how to use it as all machines vary and i have never used a Tig but am going to teach my self cheers brian

@@briun11 That's fair enough, don't know much about Tig, mostly I've seen that on aluminium or exhausts etc. Think most guys tend to have small MIGs

@@ClassicMinishorts I know but i have it in my head that i maybe able to do a better job with a tig but that remains to be seen anyway it will be a new skill if i can master it if not i will sell it and buy another better mig than my old worn out one

Hi and thanks for the kind words Do not have the new log book yet but the mini is a C reg 1984/85 will know when i have the log book /V5 the only page i ave of the old document tells me its a 1000cc mini mayfair red so the age suggests the 25th anniversary is correct but will have to see iI intend to restore as original for the main part but might add a few embellishments which can be changed if necessary cheers Brian

well have ordered a stand for my phone so should be able to film something over the weekend but i need to order a microphone i suppose i need a blue tooth one to save cables but not sure which one any help would be great cheers Brian

ok i was going to make a start on the rear parcel shelf as i have that panel and when i started dismantelling the replacement sencond hand panel realised i needed a stand for the camera so ordered one so i will have to order a mike as well thanks nfor the comment brian

I see what you mean when i looked at the video on the laptop and it was a full screen maybe its because its on my phone but as i said first attempt maybe some one can sujest how to fix it cheers brian
