    in Romania is worse . because 1. the people dont know what they want ( like Minecraft Mobvote ) 2. the candidates are like attachments in COD , they bring benefits and issues . 3. you usually dont choose who brings the most benefits , you choose who has the less issues . 4. sometimes people have good points , like Șoșoacă , but they dont know how to prove their points . thats why Șoșoacă is an Ishowspeed but at parliament . and we also have Călin Georgescu , which has its issues , but there are so much rumours and not even the right ones , and you dont even know what are true anymore . for example , people say that he is pro russian but in reality is an fascist supported by china .

  • @mcmuffin-z5v
    @mcmuffin-z5v หลายเดือนก่อน

    Eh, I would like to address a few points. First, saying that all the candidates are "trash" or "mid" that's basing on the assumption that there can be no good candidate, which you probably don't mean, but is it because we have actually mid to bad candidates or is it because of how our society works, to investigate the nitty gritty details of everyone's lives. Because a lot of the politicians in the past (for America at least) also have had pretty sketchy lives but they were running in a time were "cancel" culture wasn't too much of a thing and were also considered "good" presidents. Plus I would like to know why you think recent candidates are trash/mid, is it because of their policies or them as a person? There's more to an election than the "presidential" part, representatives, senators, which there are much more of to vote for and much more to choose from as well as candidates being more personalized. So statistically there are better options and those probably do matter, given the fact that more power is delegated to congress than to the executive branch. Second, saying that politicians promise things and then ghost you, (again I'll be speaking from an American Gov't standpoint) is not actually talking about how the government actually works, a lot of the things that the president does are usually shot down by congress and congress has the ability to even override a presidential veto. And there's really no way of predicting whether their promise will pass, essentially they are campaigning on what the belief and their policies tied to it and you would still rather have someone try and implement the policies you agree with than to say that "they're lying" or "they aren't going to keep their promise" etc. Third, the Electoral College system is very debatable but since there is not a big enough force to push for change I would like to point out a numbers thing. The Electoral College kinda encourages more people to vote, because the more votes it receives the more accurate it is, so you could see that as a con, plus it would be much harder, take much longer and cost more money to do a popular vote based election. Not that it was an issue during the 2024 season. Fourth, I'm not sure what you're trying to say with the corporations thing but I don't think anyone should let that influence a vote, sure that may be an issue but it's not an complete underlying issue directly affecting the election, as apposed to fraud/rigging the election. Fifth, "barely anyone shows up because we all know things aren't going to change" well recently more and more people have been turning up to elections, is it because PR, take your pick, but saying that "we all know nothing is going to change" well that may be true in some part so how the US government works "sometimes" but that is still I would consider a gross assumption saying that they can't do anything that can actually significantly change the country. Even there has been a lot of major changes in the passing administrations, you may not feel it but it is very much happening and as you had the illocution of portraying as vibes in a negative manner to decision making. Sixth, if elections are a big "PR" thing then wouldn't the press always try to make sure that people know and remember what a certain politician did in the past, was that not a very major thing during this cycle? Saying the next person is just as sus is also another baseless assumption maybe basing on your vibes and not empirical evidence? Seventh, stopping elections, stops "bad policies" uhh one party state??? How would that work out, wouldn't that create room for bad policies and barely any criticisms against that. While it is an issue that the US only has 2 major parties but it's still a choice with near polar opposite ideals and policies, at least getting to choose which of the 2 have better policies is still nice, and yes statistically they will be kind of mid but sometimes are different and it's not that "impossible". Eight, saying that "elections are more about vibes than results" really just seems like you're saying that out of vibes... elections do have big differences, just maybe not for you, but think of others who are actually impacted a lot by elections, can't get into that because I don't want to be political but you get the point. Nineth, system is not "rigged" it's just not the most convenient, and sure it's like "shouting to the void" but when millions of people do that then there's a big change no? And if voting is not the solution what is, propose an option, and if your claim is elections are pointless then why not stick with the chaining claim of "don't vote" or is it because your true claim is "elections are kinda pointless". All in all, I think you are missing a lot of thoughts, views and perspectives, there are many people that will have big changes in their lives this election, maybe that isn't you which probably means that you live a good life and that's wonderful. But there are a lot of gross assumptions here and there saying that "all the candidates are mid" and saying "things don't really change" is just not true, there has been major policy changes from the recent administration switches and it's all documented. And I'm not sure that most of your claims are backed up by data and evidence. And maybe that's why we have an electoral college system, it gives more power to the people who are probably going to get the most changes and feel the most changes (just my thought). Voting is an American right and sure the effects are not seen the most in all the people of the land but it still matters, what about the constant lives who are affected. Plus most administrations are only truly appreciated more than 20 years out. We voted to keep Abraham Lincoln in which led to the Union's victory in the Civil War and the freedom of slaves which is a pretty big deal (which if you read into history the other candidate would present issues on the topic of freeing the slaves, and Abraham Lincoln was seen as bad during the time, he violated the constitution multiple times in regarding to the 5th and 6th amendment and also was the "cause" of many young soldier's deaths...), we elected Ronald Reagan who effectively ended the cold war. It's still has impact, especially on the world stage because the US is the center of attention and it's the discernment of the American people which has brought us here today still living in one of the freest countries in the world. I've come at this from an approach of the US because that is what this video is mainly targeted towards, but I don't really know about labeling yourself as a political scientist because we both know that both me and you are not qualified for that topic...

    • @eragon78
      @eragon78 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mcmuffin-z5v Its really not. The average public is highly influenceable. Its an unfortunate reality, but its true. Money in politics makes your democracy an oligarchy, because people are often not educated enough to discern what is and what isnt true. Propaganda is extremely effective. And normally one of the ways to help people fight back against propaganda would be a good education that helps people think more critically and helps them identify propaganda and double check sources....but obviously good education doesn't get funded because its against the interests of those in power. So schools focus instead of basic metrics of general knowledge instead of trying to teach critical thinking. And stuff like identifying propaganda isnt taught at all, even in a civics or government class. Nor is how to properly research sources. This is something that is important in science even, and we dont really teach children how to do it. But all this means is that, the general population is just highly susceptible to propaganda. Which means whoever is spending the most money on advertisements and the news networks to control the narrative has a TON of power in influencing the public opinion. And thats exactly what happens. People who are capable of thinking more critically can wade through this stuff and come to better conclusions, but they will always be in the minority of the population. And the end result is that we live in an effective Oligarchy. Where the policies that actually get passed are almost always policies which benefit the wealthiest people in the country the most, and average people often vote against their own self interests.
