Thank you!
Thank you! I'm in the process of getting the Argentinian passport as my mom was born there, so Argentina is now on my radar. I appreciate all the information. Keep the videos coming 👍
you are both very naive, untravelled Americans. It shows. It takes a lifertime of travelling and studying abroad to get a sense of where you are. No a few senior jaunts down from provincial florida. Sorry, it shows
Tell us about ,cost of housing and interview locals about locations in the city, where safety is st a reasonable level, local TV in Spanish Two bedroom apartments, price .. Salutations from Seattle Washington USA
Amazing how things have change since you guys made this video to now, for example now you have 30 years mortgages offered by banks down there, Javier milei is changing economy all around, he has 30 to 40 years plan and I believe that’s the way you plan to turn countries around, of course he’s not going to be all those years but he’s establishing economics foundation for a non stop growth wich is going to be hard to change for other governments, the cultural battle the be on the right path socially and economically is happening and although the suffering people is having now everybody agrees that is worth it, I understand for retirement daily economy matters but also way you want to leave and enjoy retirement and Argentina and his friendly culture makes it really interesting place to live. I really enjoy the video, thanks again for this point of view
Interesting and informative, thank you!
Socialist/Leftist governments (like Canada) will DEFINETLY play up and SIDE with the Peronistas because they are cut from the same cloth. As a Canadian living in Argentina, I can tell you, the MAJORITY of Argentinians are happy with the new president. I can't wait to go back in 2025 and kick Trudeau to the curb! Canada deserves better!
Thanks for the Argentina updates. I would like to head down there in a few months. Looking forward to additional good tips and tricks. Blessings to you.
Really awesome video, appreciate the Canadian perspective, super helpful.
Hi guys! Thank you for the update. Keep safe - Abrazos
Wait, like minded people who speak English? Do you guys try to mingle with Panamanian people, learn the culture and language? just asking...
The private hospitals you’re talking about are called “clínicas privadas” en Español. You only get services in a determined facility for doctors that only serve that health care facility. The private system is very similar in various Latin-American countries but different to the American health care system.
Made it to the end, will be back. Cheers folks.
Good stuff. I hear about plastic surgery in Argentina. Could you do an episode on that some day? PLEASE
How are the Dental facilities in Argentina
"Everyone is happy". wth the president ...he has no clue.
When the IMF applauds what he's doing the alarm bells should be a ringing. He's doing what the globalist bankers want. He'll soon be selling all the farmland to Monsanto.
What was the hospital plan you hired in Uruguay? The price is quite reasonable.
Thank You you for the update! I’m still looking to soft land in Chapala area next spring. My house is for sale with plans to put money into 10 year bonds. Thanks to your video I can retire early!!! I figured out a way even if house doesn’t sale. Happy Dance! Best to you both! Ted in Seattle 🌈
Hi Ted 😁 congratulations 🎉 👏🏻🥂 woohoo 🙌 we are thrilled that we helped you retire early! Which video was it? Our friends lived at Lake Chapala 5-6 years and we are planning a video on their experience so I hope you’ll stay with us for that.
I’ve watched several videos by you however it was the one with the ten year bond graph that put everything into motion. Now I’m hearing about Mexican Bonds. From what I’ve gleaned they pay higher and you can pull your money out at anytime. Definitely more research there first. 😁
Great info, great couple...
We appreciate you too, Dan. 😃
Uruguay doesn't give you the citizen condition, you have to born here to get it, it's extremely difficult, you are right. You can have the residency and it is quite fast. For being a citizen you have to born or your parents had born in Uruguay.
Great video again. Healthcare info + specific hospital names was very practical and informative, exchange info peso-usd: good to hear it has stabilized). Glad to hear that most Argentines are supporting Milei. We are awaiting for the Argentine embassy here in Panamá City to deliver my wife a visa. Patience is tested…….. Anyway, thanks and I will definitely keep following you seniors. Ciao again from Bella Vista🙋🏼♂️
Hola Bella Vista. 😃 your support and comments inspire us to keep on. Thank you for staying with us. 🙏 and let us know how it goes.
Where else can you get real news like this?
Hi. Great question! It helps to have close friends with a similar mindset who live there 😆 and actively follow current events. The only way to top that is to be there, and we plan to return if we can swing it.
Great info! Thanks for making this great content. I was wondering if president Milei is planning to change Argentina to a territorial tax system. Have you heard anything about it? Thanks again for such a great and informative content. 👍🏻👏🏻
I am also interested in this question/answer. Good one👍
Thanks for the kudos and a great question , Vic. At the moment they tax worldwide income and we hope with the international affiliates Milei has supporting him he may set up tax treaties. It would seem that he should make immigration more appealing to expats which would put the possibility of a territorial tax system low on his list of priorities. It’s still anyone’s guess though.
Thank you very much for your info and channel!
We really appreciate you, too, Bill.
I have been living as a retired expat in BA for a while now. Your video is 100% spot on. Am still enjoying melbecs & ribeyes at incredible savings. Demonstrations are peaceful for the most part & typically in front of Plaza de Mayo.
Hi Adriana, we also love the ribeye and malbec. 🍷 We really appreciate you confirming our findings, especially about the demonstrations.
Is it difficult to secure a long term lease 6-12 months?
It would be interesting to make comparisons of the cost of staples between the US and Argentina. I believe you have done this - more anecdotally - before. Also, restaurant comparisons. Thanks, interesting and informative video.
Hi. We would but it’s changing so fast. We really appreciate your comments 😊.
Today, ribeye at butcher was 12,900 pesos per kilo. Kilo is 2.2 pounds. About $5.87. My favorite melbec from Cafayate still at Chinos for 3,000 peos or about $3.00.
I think ribeyes today in usa is about $15
Nothing else interests me😂
@@adrianalibre4876 That's per pound not Kilo. Depending on the quality of ribeye it can increase to $25/pound.
As an American, I believe in what the new Argentinian will be doing, the Austrian School of Economics is the right solution for what Argentina is facing. It will be a painful start and people will face difficulties, but in the end powerful forces of Supply and Demand will kick in and stabilize the prices. Argentina is a great country that for a long time has been mislead by populist political leaders who apparently do not understand economics (like most politicians in the world who screw up countries and make themselves look good at the expense of National Interest and strategic planning for nations). Argentina is not alone, there are other countries who are in similar situation but they just do not know it because their situation may be less severe or masked by other factors such as the good standing of their currency... Hang in there Argentina, your new President is NOT crazy, to the contrary, he is well educated and knows the right medicine but the old guards may get in his way and derail his plans; but if the people of Argentina fully support the President nothing can impede the wheels of progress that he will be unleashing.
Thanks for a great video. I would be interested in knowing what is the taxation situation in any country that I may want to emmigrate to. For example, I am not sure if Argentina taxes ONLY the income that you may earn in Argentina or does Argentina tax my US social security, pension and dividends...? Or, does Argentina have a Wealth Tax (Like France where you have to pay a percentage of your entire wealth as tax)? Actually, not knowing some of these basic facts authoritatively has hindered me from relocating and actually becoming a tax subject of other countries. If you know of a good resource plase let me know. Also, as for healthcare coverage for US citizens above the age of 65, I have heard some countries may have agreements in place with US so we can use the other country's national healthcare system as if it was covered by US Medicare, agan not having authoritative resources is confusing. If you know of good resources please share. I think these two subjects (Tax obligactions to both US and destination country) and Healthcare coverages for US persons below the age 65 and over 65 may be of interest to others as well.
Thanks John. Some quick overall answers but a local accountant would be better for specifics. Taxes in Argentina. It's on all worldwide income and they don't have a treaty for credits with the US. Healthcare - very good and cheap. But medicare etc won't pay for stuff there. Only specific 'Advantage' plans will pay in Panama. I believe that's the only country where the US pays outside the US.
What is tax situation in Argentina? Does Argentina tax your worldwide income? Does Argentina have a Wealth tax like France? Does Argentina tax your US Social Security and pension or investments?
Hi thanks for the vid. Can you share with us the name of the Hotel you stayed in while in Chitre?
I always buy the insurance because I can't afford not to have it 😅
Hello there! Two corrections 😊 .1) Avenida 9 de julio has also tunnels underground to cross it. 2) It was Eva Perón who forced factories to give away things ( like bikes) and the goverment never paid for them ( not Cristina). Kristina only cared about u$ doblars 😮.
good information, thanks for sharing your opinions
So, of all the communities / cities / towns, etc...that you have visited, if a 62 year old guy like myself, single + a wanting to relocate to Panama...do you think that are any one bedroom apartments that would rent for about $500 per month, or even less??
We weren't looking for housing in that range specifically but I've seen posts for ads (local ones) that are in that range. I'd say a good to great chance at $500 would be places like Chitre, Las Tablas. Santiago, Penenome, and other smaller towns. Maybe David or Volcan or Boquete but it'd be tough in Boquete. Not likely in Coronado or Panama City although again, you might get lucky. From all those places just mentioned, I'd choose Chitre or David.
@@laptopseniors Ok, great...thank you...great channel by the way
Yeah the US is concerned with the state of other countries. The US is probably the worst ally you could have. 😂
What puzzles me is that Argentina itself is a settler colonised country. Much younger than the Falklands. But that aside. For GB to exploit the oil, good relationships with Argentina are essential.
Every thing you explained, is really ignorant.
Regarding Uruguay and residency, it's far easier with an investment approach with the recent regulations and with the help of a local service
Hello, in your choices, you seem to be linked to the urban side, it would be interesting to have a look in the country side of things
About water, that's a pity as among the big groundwater sheets in the word, there is one crossing brazil, paraguay, argentina and north of uruguay so it seems the resource is not really used
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and the information!! May I ask you if you had Hyatt timeshare and did you able to get rid of it??
Hi...No, we didn't have a Hyatt timeshare. But, if I did have one and it was paid for I'd contact Hyatt and see if they wanted it back. Marriott bought mine from me at a decent price. For me it was great getting out of big maint fees. For them, they got an expensive 2 bedroom unit that they could rent out for $3000 a week. So, win win. Hyatt may think the same way. It's good business for them.
Hi, thank you for responding back asap!! Actually they said they would not buy back from us even though they told us they would at the time when signed the contract. It makes us so upset and feel so betrayed…we are trying to get rid of it asap because we can’t even book vacation at all (it’s been 2 years since we started to have timeshare). You said it would hard to sell if it’s not pay off. Ours is still paying. We want to try the #1: Trade Bank or Barter company. Would you think we can’t do anything at this moment??
We don't call it "Malecon", instead Cinta Costera. Love your videos and information.
How much are 1 bedroom apts. (Anybody)
Milei is a true free market advocate. Margaret was not his hero, he just thinks she did a good job.
Sounds like the entire Latin/Mestizo culture is engaging in ‘Gringo Pricing.’ No thanks. That kind of RACIAL PREJUDICE is not worth investing in. I wish Milei well, but we’re going to have to undo the last four years in the USA (FJB) before Americans are going to be able to afford ANY foreign locale…
Unfortunately your economic and political interpretations leave out a number of important factors. You seem to select only the info that will support your point of view. More than a bit misleading.
You're probably right a bit. I think each person interprets info with their own history and bias to some degree. Also, we're just going from the info and data that we're getting on the news and also from friends living in Buenos Aires. Although they'd have bias too as everyone does.
Exactly that answer my question. When I first looked at the bank rates (at their websites) they did not make sense to me.
