What about "jang" ? I heard it quite many times , especially in Chiang Mai and Esan,for example :" roon jang", or "na rak jang loei" , Can I use it in daily conversation? Khop khum thii toop duay....

You might try explaining where words come from even when words are not used in the original sense in slang speech now. Knowing how a word got to be an intensifier helps people remember the word better. Think about tai haa. Not all English speakers use damn and fucking as intensifiers even when they use the words in the original sense of the word. To rude. When teaching intensifiers to Thai people, I might explain damn and fucking but I would also encourage Thai people not to use those words, and I would give Thai people words to use as intensifiers that are stronger than very but not as offensive as damn and fucking. You might want to do the same when teaching Thai. Tell us about a small range of words, and make clear what words to be careful about. Thanks. Mike
