I go over how to properly use and set up your Wild Line Ropes FeatherLite Linemans rope. NOT FOR USE AS A TETHER!!! At WLR we DO NOT consider ANY Linemans Rope to be used for Life Safety! Being tied to the tree with a tether/rappel/lifeline is the only way to remain safe at height. Shop FeatherLite Linemans Rope at www.wildlineropes.com/product-page/featherlite-linemans-rope

How to tie the WLR Hitch Here I show how to tie the WLR hitch using an eye to eye hitch cord. You can tie with a length of cord; however, with smaller cords it is best to use an eye to eye as those types of splices are generally stronger than a knot. Like many friction hitches it may or may not work with the ropes you are using so it is important to do thorough testing at ground level before tr...

    Great video ! Thank you. Took me 2 tries on my Marlin 336W. The start point is very important; can't go back to move it. I have shared this on a Marlin owners forum. I used a chocolate brown paracord with my wood gun. Looks nice.

    I use a similar system, but a little bit easier and, in my personal view, more convenient. The alignment belt is only used if I need to get around a branch. The reason is it saves time, and for safety reasons, it's not necessary to use it the whole time. The ladder I use is one piece, so I don't leave anything behind that I need to remove later, like you did on the way down (daisy chains). If I want to descend, I install another rope the same way as the tether, just a few inches above, remove everything else from the tree, clip on a small retrieval line, and then rappel down with the Grigri. This is one of the most important steps, due to i like to go out for hunting at the evening and i do not want to use a ladder in the dark. So rappeling is safe (and fun). :)

    Climb using tether! If you slip with a lineman’s belt you will have a long painful slide down the tree.. Few people ever have their LB high and tight enough or close enough to tree to assure immediate help. If you’re gonna tell her down, you might as well tether up.😮

    • @wildlineropes6272
      @wildlineropes6272 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You MUST wear a tether AND lineman's rope in conjunction with each other to use the Aider Climbing System.

    I would like to introduce y’all to the DDM HITCH, u need um uh about 62 and 38/12ths foot of 1.83 mm grand peak canyon winch cable, gonna take 2 inches as your standing line, and add 72 wraps and 3 tangles, 2 water moccasin braids,never mind the slack,it will come out after u dead. We are going to tie it on inch and 3/8 drill line. If you can’t drag 112’ of drill line to the woods and throw it over a limb at 0500 hrs,then you’re a puss anyhow. 😂 I do like that hitch tho

    You’ve got a good system. Not meaning to take anything away, but I’m hooked on my Sladder. When I get to desired height, I unhook one side of my L-loop and attach it to the tree. That way I can take off my pack, hang my bow and quiver and stay connected. Just like going around a limb. I’ll use the other end of my tether to pull and let down my gear. If I need to, I can also tie things like a jacket or whatever to the top of the Sladder. For me, I’m able to give up the platform and the ring of steps, unless I want them! I forgot to mention that the first thing I do is put my tether on the tree and attach the other end to my bow and pack. A forty foot rope is more than enough to get me where I want to be. I use a Hero clip so that I can lower things down and just shake the end and it readily removes itself. Rappelling all the way to the ground is made easier even if I have to go further than I can on that length of rope. At any point of my decent I can stop and re-attach the Sladder and my L-loop, pull my tether down and re-attach it again and continue to lower myself. Take a look.

    • @wildlineropes6272
      @wildlineropes6272 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I actually met the guy and he seems like a cool dude! My one biggest advantage is I can use the ACS on regular sticks as a fixed or moveable aider. I can add an additional foot loop and skip the platform as well; however, I do like having the extra foot room of a platform.

  • @danhoff4401
    @danhoff4401 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Biggest advantage I see out of this is no metal. I rope climb but you cant have presets everywhere. This makes sense for a run and gun no metal system. Safer than 2TC with less moves. Personally I am good enough at not making noise that I will stick with the one stick but the no metal thing is going to appeal to folks. With something like a Dryad you could have a killer wallow hunting setup for mountain hunting at under 3 lbs.

    • @wildlineropes6272
      @wildlineropes6272 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hunt mostly mountains so it is built for them. The biggest con is it is not great for trees that are crooked and growing weird.
