Sea Turtles Get Ready for Release
After cold-stunned sea turtles are rehabilitated at the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores they are released back into the ocean in warmer waters. They are transported in bins and put on a boat that will take them offshore closer to the Gulf Stream and warm waters. In this video, the care team at NCAPKS is getting the turtles ready for their rip. After feeding them one last time they are dried off with towels so they won't be cold during their boat ride to sea. The US Coast Guard Station Fort Macon helped release the sea turtles and transported them on the USCGC Nathan Bruckenthal out to sea.

The husbandry team at the N.C. Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores gets in their dive gear to clean the habitats. Three aquarists help to scrub and clean the replica anchors in this 50,000-gallon shipwreck habitat. The habitat is a replica of an actual shipwreck's debris field found off the coast of North Carolina, thought to be the headship of Blackbeard the Pirate.

Beautiful Turtle 🐢 guys 👏🤗🥰
Very cute, it looks like they enjoyed it :3!
Man, The North Carolina Aquarium has Crocodilus Intermedius too. You know, The Orinoco Crocodile. The Dallas Aquarium is known to have Bigger ones, The Fully Grown Adult Orinoco Crocodiles. Speaking of which, those Juveniles in the Tank will soon Grow BIG & They’re have to be moved into a Larger Tank.
shes beautiful
Thank you Volunteers......very true "couldn't do it without you"
Thanks so much for posting this! We really enjoyed it. We heard that Horshoe crabs can go for up to a year without eating food. Is that true?
Warum gibt es dafür noch keine positiven Kommentare. Es ist super das es noch Menschen gibt, die sich um unsere arme gebeutelte Tierwelt kümmern
I've went to the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium nearly every year growing up on our family beach trips to Emerald Isle or Atlantic Beach. This year my partner and I made the trip just last week and I was so sad to not be able to go but an definitely glad everyone is taking such strong precautions. but I just wanted to say thank you for this channel and these videos, I love being able to see behind the scenes caring for the animals! awesome job and keep it up!
Hey leaders, the appreciation is mutual!
Nice nice
Thank you for this Ellie! I love your enthusiasm!! Very good video, and I would recommend it for all that work at the touch tank with them, as well as for new volunteers, be they students or adults. And, I would love to see the same thing for all the other animals in the touch tank. A lot of work for sure, but a great aid for new volunteers. And of course, for my favorites, the sting rays as well. With smart and helpful educators like yourself, our volunteers and guests will be better educated, and want to spread the word about this wonderful resource.
