How and qhen do I get labels from amazon to cover the barcodes on the used books?

Quick question have a friend that wrote his book and it’s being printed and he started his own seller central Amazon shop when listing does he need the product ID to be the ISBN number? He made one listing and tried to send his books but says no manufacture barcode

I hate to disagree, but I have come across several instances where barcoded media sells better on eBay than on Amazon.

Don't listen to this guy. You need at least $2000 to get everything you need to start selling, it'll take you over a year before you sell enough to be in the positive, Amazon steals a little bit of your inventory with every shipment, and I don't need the extra competition!!! Seriously, it is an actual job that takes actual work. My back hurts and I'm exhausted at the end of every day. It takes time to build and it's most definitely not a get rich quick scheme. If you do it, don't do it for the money. I do it for the FREEDOM to be in charge of my own destiny and not be subject to a corporate manager. P.S. Mike is TOTALLY ripping people off. 😁

Love this episode! I’ve asked myself recently how do I get the stuff before it even gets to the thrift store. Well, I’ve seen first hand that people donate everything that hasn’t sold after the garage sale/estate sale and slot of times there are still profitable stuff left over. Also, people have a bag sitting in their house waiting to be donated after doing their spring cleaning. I recently created a little flyer on canva and little paragraph ad for Donation Pick-Up Services to post all over (FB, Offer Up, Craigslist, Nextdoor, etc). Who knows, maybe I’ll even take out an ad in the local newspapers. And a big reason why I framed it as “donation pick-up services” rather than “junk removal” is that people are usually donating good stuff, I don’t want your “junk”. It’s like a filtration system

My only beef with Tech's message is that he doesn't give Florida enough credit for his success. If you asked him to start fresh in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 2024, he would not be able to re-create his numbers. It's not solely about hustling. Some places have snow on the ground 6 months/year. He could make a business go, but not nearly at the same scale. He's a good motivator, though.

I remember Savers thrift books were $3.99 or $4.99 a year and a half ago. Now its $4.99, $5.99,$7.99 and I just saw a kids pop up book for $29.99!!!! You have a Savers thrift on the east coast? They're getting crazy here in California

Do you know why a sku is unknown or cant be found when working on a shipment of books? This has happened to me only a few times but when it happens I have to delete that item from shipment or else it will be placed in stranded inventory with no sku. There are other fba listings with the skus so I cant figure it out.?

Would you guys recommend crosslisting media to eBay and Amazon FBM? I like to have the opportunity to sell the item on either platform and if it sells even faster on eBay, even better for me.

I love this podcast, great balance of humor, and good business practice discussion. Not only do I have a three day handling time on eBay (mainly from when I had a full-time job two months ago, which I have, since then lost, and watching this video, I realize I can change that to a 1-2 day handling time), I also love pineapple on pizza. It is my favorite topping , and I usually get extra sauce.

I just commented on one of Tech n. Sports’ videos that I do struggle with FOMO when it comes to sourcing. But he made a great point: if you allow FOMO to make you buy yourself out of business, you won’t even be able to put your boots on the ground for a LONG time and your competitors will therefore get all of the worthwhile deals, and just because that one purchase you couldn’t pass on. So ironic. And for those reasons, FOMO is a HUGE opportunity cost of gaining money and knowledge that you would have otherwise gained by putting boots on the ground. As we know, liquidity is king in any business.

Watched the entire episode and the enlightening part about it is that not once was it mentioned that eBay has issues with “outages” or “glitches.” What was emphasized was that sellers have to bring their A-game to the market by listing the best items for the best price. With that being said, there’s no problem with selling crap, but taper those expectations.

When a woman started selling, she wanted to make enough to cover the groceries. Her second wish was to make enough to pay the utilities. Now, she wants to earn enough to pay the mortgage and then maintain this level. That is success.
