    How's the power with that cam and injectors ? I'm considering doing the same to my 6NZ

    • @KeaganBaggett
      @KeaganBaggett 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I feel like the cam and injectors were supporting mods. It still needs to be tuned. That would turn it loose. I was told the cam by itself would add around 50 hp's. The fuel and everything is there for when the day comes. It does pull hills alot better, I just have to keep an eye on the EGTs.

    Man that cat is nasty, how to get hands on the marine cam and injectors? Also are they compatible with an acert engine?

    • @KeaganBaggett
      @KeaganBaggett 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @1gvn_npt I got all my stuff straight from the cat service department. It was all factory cat boat parts. Give them your engine serial number and they'll be able to pull up a list of parts that are applicable. You can get them for an acert. It might even end up being some of the same parts that go in this E model. I can't remember the part number for the cam right off hand, but the injectors for mine are 10R0955. They're huge compared to stock.

      It's been running the southeast region since around the time this video was posted 10 months or so ago. I gross at least 80k at all times. No issues so far. With the computer set at around 600 it gets the same 5.6 to 5.8 mpg that it did before. I've been told if I get a better tune it will get alot better mileage with this set up.

    • @westbanksolder
      @westbanksolder 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @KeaganBaggett
      @KeaganBaggett 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @westbanksolder That's what I've decided to set it to when the time comes. It already has more than 600 I feel like just with putting the different cam and injectors in. But yeah I'm definitely excited about getting it tuned. I should've already done it.

  • @zacharyantoneshyn9295
    @zacharyantoneshyn9295 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thinking about doing this exact combo on of my trucks because it needs 3 injectors. What tune are you running with these injectors and cam? Stock Turbo? how much did fuel consumption go down? Have you been fighting with high egts?

    • @KeaganBaggett
      @KeaganBaggett 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's actually got a 600 horse C16 tune in it right now but I plan to have a custom tune put in it as soon as possible. I will have to watch my EGTs until I get it tuned. On average it stays around 820 degrees going down the highway at 70 mph and 80000 gross. I do have to back off on the hills sometimes. For a turbo it's running a ball bearing Garrett 80mm with a .96 exhaust housing. It hits 45 pounds instantly. I still get around 5.8 average mpg.

    • @KubanKevin

      In general (not always) newer engines have a higher compression psi due to the seals being in better health which heats up the cylinders much faster causing them to struggle less on startup. I'm taking a guess on my next reason, but its possible that newer engines have glow plugs / block heaters which can kick in before startup and with the first reason in mind, cause them to start faster.

      I was definitely starting to nervous chuckle before it finally started. I finally remembered to turn my headlights off. These batteries haven't had a hard life until this. They're old 👀

      That wasn't my machine but I'm pretty sure it was 12.5:1 compression and the nitrous so I'm thinking it was probably either 110 or 112 regular race fuel but I can't say for sure. It wasnt any of the other expensive fuels some are running now.

      I wish this one had made it that long. It probably wasn't 6 months old in this video. It might would have if it hadn't ate a belly full of mud. I believe it has around 6,000 miles on it now since this rebuild. So far, so good!
