I got a free stopover in Panama City with Copa airlines on my way to Guatemala from Denver, CO, USA! Follow me for 28-hours in this amazing city! I must return to Panama!
Thank you to the many locals I met, who helped me navigate the bus and metro system. (Get a tarjeta--card--for $2 in the machine to ride transit). Muchas Gracias to my taxi driver/guide Geraldo, who taught me about his amazing country.
In this video I walk to the Crowne Plaza hotel from the airport and leave my packpack (with laptop inside). I walk to the bus stop (after learning from locals that the metro is closed early Sunday morning), a local lets me use his card to get on the bus and I pay him US cash. I take the bus near to the Miraflores Locks to see the Panama Canal! (Advice: buy tickets in advance online!), I take a taxi with Geraldo across the Bridge of the Americas, and then to Moses Bike rental, where I rent an e-bike for $8/hour and I bike the causeway to the end. I then take a bus to the metro and the metro to Cinco de Mayo. I walk to the famous Panama sign for a photo. I rent a Bird scooter and ride for 2 hours= $37 all around the coast to the Casco Viejo, where I see an amazing performance of music and dancing. I took a taxi back to my airport and saw a rainbow on the way. Amazing day in Panama City!
