VOCAL FEATS:
His chest voice shines in the upper 4th octave, and remains bright and resonant all the way. He starts mixing in the lower 5th octave, specifically D5, but remains nearly the same power from the upper 4th octave.
His upper 5th octave notes shine when head voice is used. It also has a notable piercingly bright and resonant quality to it. When sung using mixed voice, it retains the brightness, power, and piercing quality, but loses resonance only ever so slightly.
It is also worth noting that, while he has asthma, which sometimes causes him to catch his breath between notes, his vocal stamina is still insane.
Performing 6 octave jumps in one song (Somebody To Love), 9 multiple F5's in cold weather (Distance), sliding from one high note to another high note (Love Runs Out) all while being energetic and animated on stage is not an easy feat.
His ability to sustain notes for long periods of time (Apologize), and even doing it multiple times (What A Wonderful World) is also one of his skills worth noting.
He hits notes with near-pinpoint precision, only going flat or sharp rarely.
He is also a considerably agile vocalist, evidenced by the melismas (vocal runs) that he does during his live performances.
Overall, Ryan Tedder is just a badass performer.

You should do Morten Harket of a-ha next if your still doing these
Love Ryan Tedder he’s so talented in so many ways.
Ryan's strengths in my opinion are: The mixed notes, especially in the vocal range from the 4th octave to the 5th. His head voice is very good, and I believe he has high notes in the 6th octave without being in exclamation. Melismas are very bold and creative. The use of growls in notes of the 5th octave. Breath and respiratory support.
❤surreal❤
he hit an E2 in his course too! like a strong E2!

This video is so well crafted, it deserves more credit than it’s given. You should REALLY do a instrumental analysis of, what I argue to be the best instrumental of any modern pop song, Secrets. Finding the iso tracks will be difficult but if anyone can do it, it’s you. Thanks for shining a light on one of the most overlooked talents and influencers of today
Love this band and Ryan Tedder! Have seen them in concert 4 times!! And ready to go again. BYW, I am 72.
One absolutely underated area for OneRepublic talent is their One Night In Malibu special from the start of 2022. Absolutely incredible vocals

What a fun video! Glad you included praise of his incredible piano skills. He is also a very, very popular song writer and has worked with some of the biggest names and has written some monster songs!
