"All the Right Moves" (Period Drama Dance)
Another video of mine...
It's a long long time ago I uploaded my last video on TH-cam. I was very busy, plus I hadn't really good ideas for a new vid. Then I have seen the official music video "All the Right Moves" from One Republic and bingo! there was a good inspiration for another "Period Drama Dance" video! I reworked this vid several times but finally it's finished and I hope you like it....

Hans matheson is an amazing actor, very underrated, but here is miscasted. He was also miscasted in nero.

He's the only actor that made me almost care that Alec could have turned over and become good. I almost cared about this character for a brief moment (you know, until the character gets what he wants). Hans is so talented.

Requiem for a Dream
This is like the only classic book I've read that brings up rape.
"The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was another book that featured a rape scene (or attempted rape scene, anyway).
'Clarissa' brings it up as well. There is a BBC-series from 1991 with Sean Bean in it. Amazing series, it will definately bring you to tears.

Love him as Alec. He should be in more quality pieces such as these rather than crapfests like that god-awful Clash of the Titans remake and *bleh* The Christmas Candle. I thought he was absolutely perfect in Tess of the D'Urbervilles, though. He brought something new to the character that hadn't been seen from the other actors who played the part, but he captured Alec's creepiness and manipulative ways so perfectly.

The 1979 film is a masterpiece
Except that the 1979 film omitted a lot of key plot lines that were extremely relevant to the story progression in the book. Even both this version and the other "Masterpiece Theater" version from 1998 or so, have to barely scratch the surface in a lot of regards. In the Polansky film, Alec D'Urberville's conversion to Christianity, and the 2 great ironies surrounding his newfound evangelism are dropped entirely. As it is already quite a long movie, most likely it was done in the interest of time. Consequently, I think of the Polansky version as the non-reader's version. It suffers from leaving out scenes which follow the characters' development and growth, and as an example, Alec is reduced to almost a one-dimensional caricature of a bad guy. His character is in fact, much more nuanced and layered than shown in any film or televised version. They fail to sufficiently convey something very key, i.e., that Hardy's "villains" are almost never entirely so, they're just humans subject to their inherent frailty. So, instead of an Alec D'Urberville who in fact (though somewhat callous), is totally in love with Tess, who would do anything to win her love and is by turns entreating and then cocky to her to hide his despair, he is just smug and despicable. (All the time). Of course, Angel Clare doesn't suffer much from being portrayed as an insufferable, self-righteous prig --he is one.
And Ralph Fiennes in Wuthering Heights? But great video anyway.
