I made this channel to share my passion for rocketry with videos covering everything from launches to my custom rocket projects . I enjoy custom fabricating as much as I can when building rockets from cutting out center rings to sewing parachutes .
I also enjoy making parachutes for other rocketeers bringing their vision to life ( HAPPY CHUTES )

Jupiter 3 Rocket Powered by a L1000W METRA ROCKET CLUB July 7 2024
Another great flight with the Jupiter 3 on an Aerotech L1000W at the METRA Rocket Club launch site . I tipped the rail away to keep the rocket from going over the flight line but may have been too much which created that kick in the air leaving the rod .

Blue Lightning and Innovate Rockets with Cato Rocket Club Feb 17 , 2024 Launch
มุมมอง 4146 หลายเดือนก่อน
I had 2 rockets ready for Cato Rocket Club's Frb 17 2024 launch . The Blue Lightning had 2 of my Happy Chutes in it ( French Fry chute and Evel Pumpkin chute ) powered by Aerotech H135W . The secondflight was with my Innovate rocket on an Aerotech G75 MetalStorm motor . Great flight but ejection charge was too straong ripping the center ring out that secured the recovery system . The airframe t...

Hi, how do I mix ammonium perchlorate with aluminum and what material do I add to make it a solid fuel?
Nice flight Josh! Always enjoy your videos. Going for my L2 this October at TTRA Bucks Blast here in FL. If you're ever in the area, look me up. Love to fly with Yard. 15,000 waiver.
Thank you so much ! Good luck on your L2 and if ever in the area I would love to fly with you
Pretty cool.
Thank you !
We have bt-60 at home!
Cool! How do you attach the fincan to the body?
is blue lightning similar to white lightning?
@@NapoleonBonaparte3 Blue Lightning is the name of the rocket . Blue paint with lightning bolt decals . I can see how naming it that can be confused
Ok, so the entanglement definitely occured because ejection happened after apogee. Rocket was traveling downward and had to pass through recovery system. The engines said 6 second delay, right? So four seconds might be better?
Oh, no damage to it?? Sweet! I saw the top ten launches vid and expected some damage.
Wow! Cool video! I've just finished building my first high power rocket and have been watching tons of videos in the past four months, but this is the first one of yours that I found. Lot's of great looking rockets! I liked the way you included information like number of launches, max alt and engines size. You had one entanglement that I was sad to see. But many more victorious recoveries! I will be looking at all your videos and would very much like to get a custom parachute from you. Thanks a lot for sharing.
@@bigdipper620 thank you so much that means a lot !! I like sharing my experiences with high power rocketry. High power is so much fun and even at. Level 1 there are so many great motors to choose from . Plus they are not too expensive.
48lbs!!!! Whoa. That's heavy. 😎
thank you ! It's a lot of fun setting up that rocket
What size engine did you use?
Wow that's brutal. I can't believe you got it back together that fast.
I was so tired ! I asked my wife if I was insane trying to rebuild it in time for LDRS. She said no you are just determined
Congratulations on L3! I CAN'T imagine how you must have felt when your test flight CATO'd....glad you were able to recover
Thank you so much! It was very devastating to see that happen . I'm so thankful for the support in our rocket community ❤
Congrats on the cert! Was an awesome flight and quite a journey to get there.
Thank you so much!
First off, Congrats on your L3. That said I cannot believe your bad luck prior to your cert. You truly are an inspiration to this community in fighting through all odds and coming out on top. BTW, what is your "home club?". I lived most of my life in Connecticut and my next trip up that way I would love to attend one of your launches and say Hi in person. Next step TAP? Bob Munday
Thank you so Much ! That means a lot ! I fly with CATO Rocket club ,at Durham , CT / CMASS Club in MA ( Acton and Amesbury ) / RIMRA Rhode Island Club / METRA Club Pine Island NY . Next step in motion building a really big rocket !
So you blew up your booster 5 days before your level 3 attempt it it still looked better on the pad that mine. Maybe I need to learn how to paint better... Congrats man!
Thank you ! One of the most stressful things I went through ! Build another booster , paint and decals I felt crazy haha . It all was worth it secured the L3 !
Very cool.
Thank you
I'm working on a 1.5 " X 8" sugar rocket motor. Can't wait to try it out. 🤞
Sounds like a good size i motor. Should be fun !
Most model rockets on liftoff : whoosh. This rocket: ROAR!!!
Make the rocket bigger! 😂 It would be 10 or 11 ft rocket! 😂
Beautiful job. Nice paint job. I like the metallic . Awesome job on the parachute. I wish I could sew. I have a Cobalt blue metallic paint. It is a little darker than yours. I think the blues look nice with metallic in them. I am looking forward to the launch.🚀🙂
Thank you !! I am behind posting videos . I did a test flight with a terrible result a week before LDRS 42 but manage to fix things . I was successful on my L3 cert flight at LDRS 42 and that will be PART 7 going over all that !
@@newtonspersecond Very cool. Congratulations.
@@chrissrocketryandmore Thank you !!
Cut a 45 deg. bevel into the leading edge of the launch lugs to avoid any recovery entanglements.❤
I lift weights and do rockets also ! Like to defy gravity !
Nice !!
Nice job
Thank you
Why does it look like the bottom rail button wasn't holding at launch?
Read the description I explained it
Ok scratch that last comment the description I wrote didn't seem to post . I tried to post with this shorts video the bottom rail button broke as soon as motor got up to pressure. Only 3rd flight with this rocket . I am not sure why that happened but I'm thankful it went straight as it did on one rail button
Body/motor tubes are inexpensive. You would have had a perfect fit with your motors.
Not the point of this build . I decided to make this rocket a day before the launch so i used what I had around the house . 3d print a nose cone , saran wrap tubes for motor mounts , ect Staples 4" diameter mailing tube . You are correct those motor mount tubes are cheap but no way to order and get them in a day . This was just for fun and has proven to fly great over and over again
Awesome video and some great flights! Number 4 though, 33 pounds on a K535 seemed underpowered even though the T:W is about 4:1
The point of that flight was low as possible to get a very close video of the flight and close as possible to the recovery event . It was a planned bare minimum motor used in it .
Thank you
Full video releasing soon

Hugs it 😊
4:00 Awesome launch. Astronaut survived.😮 Any rocket specs, like thrust, weight, TWR???
How dose the motor captain er stay in my. Star orbiter do i need to make something for it i when to run a e motor
@newtonspersecond >>> Great video...👍
Thank you
@@newtonspersecond>>> You're Most Welcome.
Do I go to make something for my motors if lunch my star orbiter
Does that rocket have 1 F and 4 E motors?
Great video! Nice camera angles and good shots of the motor retention system 👍
Thank you ! It's such a fun rocket to fly
H engines you need to be certified?
Yes
Do you got to put tape on the motor
How do you keep your rocket motor in your star orbiter..
I made an adapter 29mm to 24mm and I do tape the D12 to the 24mm adapter . The 24mm adapter gets locked in with the 29mm motor retainer
What do you have hold ing your motor in your star orbiter
👍🚀
Awesome! Love your videos!
Thank you !

Nice! I used a H135W-14A for my L1.
It's such a great motor!
Cool. My L2 will be about 15 lbs its gonna be a low n slow. Really cool!!!
Awesome, that worked well for me . I think I hit 752' with an Aerotech J535w
@@newtonspersecond Yeah I won't be far off with a J350 or so. Maybe a K360....lol.
