    Hi. Thank you for posting this video. Very informative. I currently run a walking tour in the UK and I am interested in branching out to Paris to offer a tour there. Very much like yourself, I will not be getting the licence to enter buildings etc. It will be a full outdoor walking tour. Can you possibly guide me in the direction of any websites/links that contains all legal requirements to run this. My apologies if this is not the correct platform to ask this but thank you for your time.

      @PG-hy1hd yes indeed this is pretty similar, so it's nice to get someone's feedback. you can look at this official site on guides www.entreprises.gouv.fr/fr/tourisme/conseils-strategie/foire-aux-questions-metiers-du-guidage . For the business, I recommend going for a micro entrepreneur. From the UK, you will also need a business visa. I would recommend a visa Profession Liberale.

      @@StartBusFrance Alex is my coach and I completely agree with his four pillars. Naturally having (or training oneself to have) a positive mindset makes one so much more receptive to learning. Taking accountability for creating opportunities, creating routine is also key. In traditional learning settings quite understandably there is so much focus on speaking; as a counterbalance, it has been valuable in my own progress to put as much focus on listening comprehension. Working with Alex has really helped me be more analytical about how as adults we can foster language acquisition in ourselves. @ASIF_Aden a company who doesn't know you isn't likely to offer you a sponsor visa, as it means a lot of year from their part. Unless you are in a sector where there is a lack of skilled employees in France. Have you looked into going freelance? I.E create your own business and move with this project to France? Have a look at the visa profession liberale. And maybe take my 5 Days Challenge to see if freelancing could be an option for you. startbusfrance.thinkific.com/courses/Freelance-in-france-challenge

    Amazing Video like always. 🙏 I have one question concerning the Micro Entrepreneur calculation. If he has a turnover of 30.000, then the taxable income is 19.800, but when I look in the tax table you showed and want to calculate the tax, isn't it like this: For the first 11.294 it's 0 and then for 19.800 minus 11.294 it's 11%, so at the the end a tax of around 935 (which is 11% of 8506). Or am I understanding something wrong?

    • @StartBusFrance
      @StartBusFrance 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @marina_monaco yes, your calculation is correct. The Boursobank simulator seems to be giving a lower level of taxes, but they may apply extra rules (for instance a boost for someone getting back to work by creating a business). In the 1st example that I take the single person had a net income of 32,000€, so the calculation is different.

    Hi Valerie, this is excellent guidance thank you so much! What category would ‘calligrapher’ fall under…artisan, commercial or liberal? I offer Calligraphy for weddings and events. Live calligraphy for personalising items at events and I also teach calligraphy workshops.

    • @StartBusFrance
      @StartBusFrance 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @stephanandsandra this is a tricky one! Design in general tends to be profession libérale, but calligraphy entails a manual activity. If you describe it as "Graphiste, calligraphie, ateliers et course de calligraphie" you should be profession liberale.

    Bonjour, Valerie! Thank you very much for this video. It's super helpful! However I would like to ask you as a software developer, planing to earn money by publishing mobile applications and selling subscriptions.. would that work well for a micro entrepreneur and what régime this activity would fall into. Also I would like to try to sell some POD (print on demand) products on Etsy. Can I do this with the same micro entrepreneur account? What régime this activity would fall into?

    • @StartBusFrance
      @StartBusFrance 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bonjour @alexivanova0509 selling apps online or digital products are seen as professional libérale, as there is no physical product. I would describe it as "vente en ligne d'applications pour portables". The POD is different because this time it's a physical product, related to photography . You could register both as a micro entrepreneur to start with. And I would describe 2 activities: "activé principale" the apps and "activité secondaire" the POD. You register both under the same business.

    Hi! This video was very good timing, I received the email about it last night because I'm signed up to your newsletter. And VERY early this morning around 5AM I had a video call with about 7 people in France helping me pick from my top 2 locations. It was a great talk, but I'm also VERY embarrassed with my speaking ability after 1100 days of duolingo French. So I'm looking forward to classes immediately when I arrive. But I'm so thankful for youtube, so that I can listen to French language content and read the French subtitles because my reading comprehension is better than my listening. And also TV5Monde has tons of lessons, news and entertainment to learn from. Lots of great info in this video, and people need to know that time disappears on this journey. But if you're considering the move-keep your spirits up and don't lose your motivation! On my call today September was proposed (and I want a sooner time), but even with that amount of time, so many arrangements need to happen! And Valerie I look forward to arranging a business strategy with you once my most basic moving plans are stable. Thanks.

      Hello, do the visa requirements apply to EU citizens that are moving to France?

    • @slrdave6308
      @slrdave6308 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@harrietwebb1375 Hi. I don't know much about this, but it's my understanding that EU people have "free movement" throughout the EU and some kind of "right to work." So I'm sure you can ask some place like the French consulate about coming. They can clarify the procedure. But I think I read, as an EU citizen, you have free entry, but if you plan on staying longer than 3 months you just need to register with the local municipality to let them know your intentions.

    Thank you for the video, it is very helpful. I have two questions. When you talk about turnover / sales (les ventes, le chiffre d'affaires, les recettes) you made the distinction with 'reettes encaissées' as being money actually received. I know from your other videos that for a micro entrepreneur you only declare money actually received, so not invoices issues and not yet paid. So when you use the terms 'les ventes, le chiffre d'affaires, les recettes' does it always mean 'money actually received'? Or does it include invoices issued and not yet paid and you need to specify 'encaissées' to differentiate? My second question is on your point at the end about 'le revenu' being seen as a fixed percentage of your sales if you are a micro entrepreneur. Does this mean you are expected to take out that percentage as income in a year? Or that you can only take out that percentage in a year? Or does it not matter what you take out of the business in a year?

    • @StartBusFrance
      @StartBusFrance 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @EB-bn7zm well done for your level of French, this is advanced vocabulary, which I didn't include. Yes, each time I refer to recettes, chiffre d'affaires or ventes, it means CASHED IN sales or "recettes encaissées". Thank you for this great contribution.

    Yet again I forgot to add my question so for next week... if you would be so kind. I am a UK photographer working freelance (6 yrs), covering cycling and a couple of other sports, self employed but working P/T. I would really love to move to FR on a micro autopreneur visa from UK however at present my income is well below the minimum wage in FR (due to the part-time aspect) I would hope to be working full time in FR but I cannot guarantee reaching minimum income the first year, maybe even a struggle in the 2nd year as it is a job that needs contacts to be built, (plus in a foreign county) and getting my name known in FR. Would the authorities however go easier if I had a good bank balance, say €60, 000 which would allow me to live without using state money. Also can I combine this photography job with occasional airbnb to help get extra income. Thank you so much, Valerie!!!

      Hi @carluxx77b the live Q&As is moving to a monthly basis from March. I'll add the date soon & will cover your questions in details. In the meantime, I would say Oui. You can apply for a visa entrepreneur Profession Liberale. Justify that your activity was part time for now and add a strategy of actions you will take to increase this turnover. As a photographer, you could also add services which aren't your favourite but bring in cash (events, family pictures around sport activities, skiing season). Showing savings will also be a big plus.
