Hi Thanks, the scx10 is great, but it's hard to find information about the best things to do to set up and or upgrade. The trx 4 has a lot if information out there. Any information would be great.

Hi Thas great, my cj 113 is being upgraded for the 2 time .just to give a bit of style to it. Did you build cj 612 yourself?

@@bryanlowson1426 I got it as a full kit for Hans Berger. It was built by the commodore of my local sailing club. I got the sails from Brian at Eh Sails. Just not sure what color I want to do yet.

@Johnny-tt8zc that's great , can't comment on sail colors all mine are just white. With different colors on the corners. These are great fun yachts that sail well . It's great to hear you are adding your flavor to your yacht. All the best . I may see you sailing on day

1896, Although I did not buy it as a collectable Rc crawler . I was looking at my 1st rc and was told this would be a good crawler to start with.

I would be interested to hear what you think of it . And what are you going to do with it .

for an ~90 inch it is about 58 lbs + trim weights = 60 lbs

Hi for all the info on this Rc yacht . You must go and look at " Canterbury J class " website . You will find a class with lots of support.

Hull length 1220 mm . it fits in most cars with rig on .

Hi sorry for the late reply. Some time when we are back sailing again will do so. Maybe a while. Have you looked at the CMYC web site. Has some links to Canterbury J class site. If you have questions just ask them ,they love talking about the Canterbury J and have the knowledge and experience to do so. Both the Ec12 and Canterbury J Class are great yacht s to have. Totally different than a Iom or marble head. Well worth having if you like rc sailing, great yachts to have to if you want to start rc sailing. I can put up a video of both yachts beside each other on land , let me know if you want me to do this.

@@bryanlowson1426 thanks for the response. Life has shut down for a while. During this time I have decided to scratch build a small 2 foot j boat. I found a full size drawing on line and trying to make it work with a RC equipment. I have ribs and frame in place. Still have the planking to do. Still looking forward to seeing the side by side j vs EC12 sailboat.

yes you are right something I will work on ( a new cradle). Its not until someone tells you something that know what to fix. Thanks Your 1940 Marblehead sounds interesting. One thing I did wrong was not put my 1st witchcraft back to vane gear, but then it was my first yacht.

I have a mold for the Witchcraft going take a hull off it soon. Building a IOM v8 at the moment lots to learn. Good to hear some one else loves the challenge.

Thanks . as you can see I'm very new to building and everyone has different ideas .Your J 551 has a sliding hatch cover. what is it like water wise? most people at the club tape plastic down as it's very light .

Bryan. The hatches on #551 seem to be "mostly" water tight. At our last National Championship, we sailed 16 heats the first day in winds ranging from 5-15 knots. I put a small sponge in the bilge and would wring it out during the breaks. I'd guess maybe 2 tablespoons of water for the whole day. The sliding hatch makes launching easy, and if it looks to be really rough and windy, I can always tape around the hatch with vinyl tape. Our USA C-J rules require a wood deck, so I didn't feel like saving a few grams with the hatches would make much difference. I look forward to seeing your C-J finished and sailing!!! Kevin
