I am a portrait, wedding, and event photographer based in Toledo OH. I enjoy spending time in nature, taking photos of children and birthday events! I started photography in 2014 unintentionally. I bought my first Canon camera to take photos of my son's 4th birthday party, and i enjoyed taking pictures since then. A self taught master of the craft with over 10 years experience of many different genres. My passion work is nature and wildlife, which is why i love portraits outdoor on location. My current venture in the craft is in-person lessons and online classes, to teach what I know and love. In my beginning days, I practiced a lot with just taking my kids to the park everyday after work and walking around the city of Toledo for hours with my cameras. Since then, I have photographed hundreds of portrait sessions, many weddings and birthdays, and thousands of nature wildlife photos. I couldn't have done it without the leading of God. I am just looking at the date on this 12-10-21 and most likely anyone that responded to this post is no longer going to see the updates, adapting different format lenses to in the case a full frame camera does not make what you are shooting in no way shape or form a medium format image, at the 13:00 minute mark you have proven that yourself, your focal reducer allows you the use lenses of a different format and this will allow more light to reach the censor, and will give whatever lens you are using a Widder than its focal lent, but it those not make it medium format anymore that a Cambo Rodenstock HR Digaron-S 23mm Large format lens adopted to my GFX 100S would make my medium format camera a large format camera. So no you are not shooting medium format images on a full frame camera, you are shooting medium format lenses on a full frame camera, big difference.
Thanks very much it useful but mine have problem with switching off and automatically change to low battery when on What can I do to it
Thank very much I tried it your way and it worked 🎉
Yo thank you for putting this video together. I have a wedding to shoot in a few days and this really saved me!
Thanks man !!!
Thanks
very helpfull. Thanks.
this video here really helped me i managed to fix mine through this video thank you
thank you very much for this video bro, i had mine wont turn on for the past 2weeks. i was thinking about buying another one. i just remove d switch with a knife and use a thin stick to toggle d internal switch ON. 5sec job done
I use this style and it really work for me
Thank you God😊 saved my life
Hey man I really appreciate this video. I just dug out my AD200 pro that I had not used in a long time and it was not turning on. I thought it was this so I took it alllll the way apart (and also "reset" the battery) and it looked fine, could not get it working. To keep this short I have a Flashpoint evovle AD200 Pro and I must have updated the firmware before I stored it, and it was the FIRMWARE breaking mine. To fix it I had to go get the Godox Version A firmware for mine as the Flashpoint site does not even have the right firmware to make it work!
Thank you for this. I just went through this and fixed my flash after following your instructions
Thank you from OZ. Worked for my unit too. (only after I bought a new battery, at least I have two batteries now) Thank you
Is there any way to test the power switch with a multimeter ? One of my AD200 Pro fell to the ground and stopped working. There is no damage apparent, but it won't power since. The usb device is detected still when I plug it into a computer.
I have no experience with multimeters but I do have one. I'll check it out at some point
Thanx lee
Sorry guys how can I buy that motherboard with switch cz it’s broken
Bro stfu and come to point
My colbor cl100w won't turn on.. hopefully with this I can fix it
Let me know if it worked!
very good, I managed to solve the problem with my AD200 pro, thank you very much
Glad it was helpful!
The worst lens review i've ever seen. Are you talking about a lens or just blathering about video cameras.
I apologize, it wasn't titled as a review
Thank you for making these videos on the pentax 645 lenses. I have been thinking about buying them for my GFX 50s.
I hesitated for years because I thought (fully manual, old, cheap) they couldn't be any good right? I was wrong. It is now the only glass I use for everything including weddings. These lenses are hard to recommend to anybody without mirrorless and a high resolution EVF. The EVF has to be at least 3.69M dot in order to see focus peaking clear enough. I tried them on the Panasonic s5 when it first came out and opted for the cheaper EOS R for that reason. I'm predominantly a photographer so I don't need a lot of bells and whistles from my gear. It is true that everybody gets what they pay for, but not with these.
Just went through thinking my flash was broken, and sure enough it's just the power switch. Mine seems to be working now with just the gorilla tape holding the switch, but now I know where to look if it fails again. Thanks!
For someone who doesn't shoot film, which medium format lens is the most common?
Honestly, I only know much about pentax medium format glass. The 75mm and the 55mm are the most common
Just found your video and it was so helpful. Just bought a brand new flash and it would not turn on. Luckily for me, I did not shock myself and all I had to do was flip the little medal switch and then tape it in the on position after reassembling. But you can see they still have not fixed the issue. Will be bookmarking this video, just in case.
I wish they would fix it and make the unit more rugged. It would be a perfect flash at that point
"sterility" is something I'd expect from a lens like this... it I was a pro and had to make a specific shot in some formal setting, this is what I'd want. But not being that I'm happy to goof around with Helioses and film era Pentax glass
I finally was able to get an eVOLV 200 this week. It was dead on arrival. I kept thinking, "Man, what am I missing? I mean, there's the battery (I charged it fully) and a switch. Why can't I turn this thing on?!" I figured it was either the battery or the switch. I'm guessing it is the switch now after seeing this video. Thankfully I can just return/exchange mine since it is brand new, but after hearing for years how awesome the AD200 is, I was really surprised to hear about this. Do you all still recommend the AD200? If so, would you recommend that when I get a new working unit, I just start off by taping the switch in the on position and then from then on, just popping the battery in & out so that I avoid every having to do this?
It adds to T-stop not F-stop. This is something that even manufacturers say wrong. F-stop increase would add to more defocused background as a change in bokeh. But that did not happen and that is impossible. So F-stop stays the same but T-stop gains one stop. It's a wierd thing i dont even know how to describe it properly.
Did that Pentax 35mm hd f/2 have the same 3d pop effect on apsc?
Don’t those adapters take away a stop of light the reason why that adapter adds a few stops ?
MF is bigger image circle than FF. So it focus larger circle to a smaller circle, hence more light than a MF sensor/film would receive. Same effect with FF to APS-C speedboosters.
It add light rather than taking it away. I haven't noticed a quality change either
Mainly a Panasonic user however shoot Pentax for a change of pace. I enjoy the OVF experience. Btw Panasonic has great AF now with s5ii, S5iix and soon g9ii. I couldn’t connect with canon or fujifilm. The Pentax inspires me to shoot my Pentax shots for FL sunsets are amazing with color pop right out of camera
thank you sooo much man all the way from AFRICA you saved me some racks god bless you
Dude, thank you for going through the trouble to make this video. Mine took a dump and before I decided to chuck it… I found this video and wouldn’t you know, now it works. Awesome work dude!
Also, let me add, that if you want a he functionality back. Bend that sucker so the prongs are sticking up, then a small small small dab of hot glue under them so they don’t have a chance to flatten
I'll thunk I'll do that if I ever encounter this problem again. Unfortunately I super glued my power switch in place on the light in the video. I since then got 2 more that hasn't had this problem yet. But I don't mess with the power switch on those either
@@leecoreyphotography glad to hear an update. Also, mine is still going strong!! Shoutout to the goat!
Just to say thanks for this video instructions Lee. I just repaired my Evolv 200 Pro, same as the AD 200 Pro. I add here that I am also leaving the switch in the ON position and not touching it. One thing I did is, I placed a rubber band around the unit over the battery area, so the battery is just pushed away from the contacts by the springs in the battery compartment, this way, when I need to use the flash, I just push the battery to snap in, then, when not in use, I pop it a bit out with the battery release button, the rubber band keeps the battery in the cavity, but away from the contacts, works great On another note, Flashpoint repairs quoted me $35 dlls for the switch replacement, for those of you who have the time to ship it for repair, you pay shipping both ways...
Lee you’re a lifesaver Man🔥🔥🔥 I’ve managed to fix my Godox Ad200 pro following all your instructions here… Thank you so much.. God bless
awesome video Lee - thank you - it really gave me an idea what I could do with Medium Format, I have always been interested in it as the dynamic range photos taken with it are awesome. I would love to experiment some video ideas with it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this.
The dynamic range would be camera body specific. It wouldn't have any affect on dynamic range, just the wider field of view at any given focal length kind of look
Thank you for the video. Repaired my AD200 just a couple hours before my wedding shoot - WHEW,!
That's not how it works chief
Thanks so much for making this video! Followed your instructions and it works again!
thanks you so much brother,, you solve my life after I fixed my ad200 salam from indonesia...
The only way I know is to make panorama to cover 1.4 time FF field of view to get MF look
I use this adapter plus panorama, it's very dramatic
I discovered the same thing when I picked up a relatively inexpensive SMC 645 200mm f/4 Pentax-A mount lens a couple of months ago. With a Fotodiox PT645-EOS adapter it makes awesome images on my 1D3 and 5D2 DSLR's. I haven't yet tried it on the M50 but that would need a different glass reducer. The (used) adapter only cost me AU$42.79 shipped from the UK.
I have a M42 200mm and I don't see the interest of MF unless you tilt shift
It seems strange that you are getting that issue. I shoot with the 200 on my 645 and it is perfect. Buy a Pentax 645. Or buy the long glass for the K mount lens. Get a mono pod and use it better yet get a freaking tripod. Best of luck to you.
I broke the black piece off. Ordered a new internal switch. Can anyone direct me to a video of how to remove it and solde the new one on?
Just a tip put this video in x2 speed ur welcome
Dude it was really my switch thks dear 👍👍👍
dude this saved my AD200 thank you!
The real test would be how big can you blow the image up without having to use AI or some algorithm. The beauty of medium is not just the look of the format the the image size you could get. It’s awesome to be able to use the medium format lenses but that’s just half of it. Great video.
Thanks for this instructional video. Unfortunately for mine the little metal casing over the switch was not easy to lift off at all and the whole switch uplifted off from the mother board. 😢 Time for a new flash but I really don’t want to buy another ad200 knowing this will happen in the future due to the poor design flaw.
Can you please share some samples
Over the months, I have accumulated plenty and more opinions on the lens. I've learned the thing in and out and I will be ready soon to produce a review
10:07 Also, if you look to the right of the switch you'll see a capacitor on the corner of the board. It's tan/brown colored. This is also a common failure point as the power board butts up against the LCD board at this point; and, if/when the flash gets dropped the main board will compress the LCD board and break the capacitor. If this happens the flash will die. They've fixed this issue in later versions but a good idea is to take some fingernail clippers and clip a millimeter-or-two off the main board there. The compression can also affect the switch. Personally, I'd rather repair the switch or replace it than bridge it and rely on the battery to turn the flash on and off.
none of this makes any sense - a simulation is not the thing itself
But it does add a unique look if you know how focal lengths work. This is the same difference between why people go to full frame instead of APSC, minus sensor performance. This is for the focal length look only. Which can make a huge impact on how a specific focal length behaves
