Gene Grey.....the giant who made Wadadah FC great
When Businessman Gene Gray took over Wadadah FC in 1980, he not only change the face of St. James football but actually revolutionalized Jamaica's football. He was the first persons to expose local footballers to the good life- decent salary, hotel life and fancy cars. While he did not win any national titles with all-star cast he assembled, they provided some of the best football excitement seen in Jamaica's club football. Thankfully, Grey was finally rewarded when he used predominantly Montego Bay-based players to win two NPL titles.

Durrant 'Tatty' Brown....from Seacastles' dining room to the World Cup in France
มุมมอง 5K19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Unlike many local-based football stars, iconic Reggae Boyz defender Durrant 'Tatty' Brown did not play schoolboy football. In fact, initially, many felt he would not get very far in the game because of his dimunitive size. However, once he broke into Wadadah FC, he quickly established as a masterful defender in the NPL. After Rene Simoes recruited him from his job in the Seacastles' dining room...
Lorraine Mair, MoBay's first 'Reggae Girl' was brutally murdered
มุมมอง 1.8K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Back in the 1990s, Montego Bay had one of the best female football programme in Jamaica. It was primarily inspired by Bernadette 'Lorraine' Mair, the first rural-based player to represent Jamaica’s female senior team - the Reggae Girlz. Long before Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw came to the fore, Montego Bay was not only showcasing Mair, but also Elizabeth 'Betty' Vassell and Jodi-Ann McGregor, who were ...
Mark 'Haglar' Wilson, the defender who drove fear into all forwards
มุมมอง 5K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Over the years, western Jamaica has produced some of best defenders in schoolboy football, and to their credit, many of these players have gone on to represent the national senior team with distinction. While I respect many of these defenders, the defender that has given the best memory, and the one that consider superior to all others is the fearless Mark 'Haglar' Wilson, the Rusea's defender ...

Brian 'Rambo' Brown, the best schoolboy striker out of the west
มุมมอง 2.4K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
Over my over four decades of watching some of the gifted schoolboy football strikers western Jamaica has produce, I have seen many exceptional talents, many of whom have gone on to represent Jamaica. However, in terms of being dominant and impactful, I would have to label Brian 'Rambo' Brown Jr, who dazzled for Rusea's over several seasons as the best of the lot while still attending school.

Phillip 'Seba' Wong...a combative but extremely talented midfielder
มุมมอง 2Kหลายเดือนก่อน
With a distinguished career in both schoolboy football and club football, Phillip 'Seba' Wong could count himself unlikely for not making Jamaica's team to the 1998 World Cup as, at the time, he was a fearsome warrior in the 1996/97 Seba United NPL championship winning team. He must count himself unlikely, considering his execellent football pedigree.

If you were a fan of St. James football back in the 1980s, or was one who frequent the dances and parties, it was almost impossible not to know Gully Man, the Seba supporter, who would never back down from an argument in defence of his team. He was also an ever presence at the big sound clash, either juggling his ware or just having a good time. He was undoubted a renowned Montego Bay personality.

One of the best defender out of Jamaica
I remember the incident quite well.
I always remember a match for Jamaica at the Stadium where Tatty, playing sweeper, just stepped over the ball a couple times and had the opposing forward beaten. It was like he was dancing. Maybe he got his nickname from the Dancehall dance move. That Jamaica team photo at 6:18. Anyone can name the two players not identified?
wasn't it a car accident that hindered his progress?
I remember him being at St jago
I played against 'Tatty' in a six a side competition after he was in semi-retirement. I spent the entire 30 minutes watching him play.......I think they call it starstruck.....my most important soccer match ever
