My Navy father became a flt engineer flying with these guys when they were in Little Rock , Arkansas.... Late 70s
That has to be murder on the wing frames
You'd think over 20 years later we are still risking human lives by flying them into a hurricane on purpose when we have drones galore that could do it all day. You could have a drone in orbit in the eye 24/7 taking live measurements. Every 5 hours or however long the fuel will last, can be rotated out for another unmanned drone. They have Starlink which is almost faster than standard internet and they could beam live data every minute. 5 hours later, rotate in another. All they would need is a fleet of 8-10 remotely operated drones. They can drop bombs on people so why couldn't they drop the same instruments a human drops out the bottom of the P3-Orion except they drop them into the hurricane. For me, this is now an unnecessary risk of putting humans in danger. Sure, they have a good safety record now but something bad will happen eventually and they hit a hot tower with severe turbulence and a wing that was just repaired, had a crack NDI inspection missed and the wing flys off and they go down and are either deceased or floating in the middle of a hurricane that is too dangerous to send anything in to get them. We can send 200 billion to Ukraine with the wave of a magic 🪄 biden kamala harris wand but we cant help the military out? We left 89 billion dollars of equipment to the enemy in Afghanistan. That was OUR money. We need someone that cares about our Military and country first. Makes me sick
12:55 severe turbulence starting
Hate for the plane to go down man sad story indeed
Evacuating for a TS/cat 1? Down here in Houston we eat cat 1's for breakfast.
The turbulence in commercial plane is like a joke to em
What a crazy job.. i bet the most worst turbulance comercial airline was nothing to this.. 😂
I hate the false shaking of the camera and the scripted radio lines. Next time just bring a documentary crew on a LIVE flight into a hurricane and record that instead.
Obviously, the pilot can't leave his controls....how do they all go to the bathroom on a 12hr flight?
wtf I had no idea they would fly into it I thought theyd fly above it or something. How does the plane not get flung out of the sky?
Video quality is crap
Video quality is crap. Thumbs down
More blades less vibration
Irene has become the forgotten Hurricane. It’s been overshadowed by Sandy. The thing with Irene was the snow storm right after it, that’s where the damage happened in North Jersey the worst.
YOULL ARE THE REAL HEROS . STAY BLESSED AND BE SAFE DEAR ONES
If they go down they're dead. No questions asked. No need to send a rescue search, it's over. You know the water beneath then is roiling. You wouldn't survive 3 minutes once you hit the water.
That Lt. Col would have done that job forever if he could have. Aging sucks in some ways; The human life is so brief.
I don't have the kind of guts it takes to do what hurricane.hunters do
Where can you find this series in better quality (no offense), even if you have to pay !
It was on Netflix like 6 years ago but I haven’t seen it since, and I also haven’t seen any higher quality copies on the web anywhere. I can’t find a DVD release either.
Director: Whatever you do make sure to cut to a new video every 4 milliseconds…people love that. People: God this is so F’ing annoying!!!😡🤬😡🤬😡😡🤬🤬🤬😡
This pilots a total badass, i love it. So casual.
Let’s blur out their rank and then list them by rank.
Lol
what is this mean? xd
Looks like the major was in charge here over the lt col 😂
i now hate this, i have a major grade on this vid.
I want a storm like that here in Virginia again
Hats off to these brave soldiers tearing its way through hurricane .. Trying to find its path ...and warning the people in its path ..... Risking their own lives to protect others ... Really God bless you'll and protect you'll from all harms .
I have met all them
Does the encoder actually broadcast over NWR frequencies?
Yes. It was done with low power in a controlled environment to avoid interference with legitimate stations.
I have been looking for more 20+ minute episodes of Hurricane Hunters. Can't seem to find more than 4???
Nbb
Never in a million years lol boys balls r hugeeeeee
6:09 that first date IRL
Looks like Colonel Oliver North
Dear! Hurricane Hunters. This is going to sound funny, but i would still like to say that Irene is pretty coorperative and obedient right after you had treated her accordingly.
This was a Category 240p storm?
1080p wasn't invented until 2021
Excellent comment
The first 1080p camera came out in 2006 or 2008.. I can't remember and in the case of TV's, the first 720P video was in 1998 and 1080P video was in 2007. In the case of TH-cam, 720P support was added in December 2008 and 1080P in November 2009. So you must be in high school or grade school and not know how the Internet works but you were way off. So, there is a search engine called Google, or Duck duck Go, and you can think of anything you don't know and type it in and hit search and it will tell you things. 😂
Hey if we know that worm water is fuel to a hurricane....WHY would yall just dump cold water into it with theair craft that yall going into the middle of the storm with?
this is sort of deceptive. they are flying into the storm but they are entering from the back which is still dangerous but they are not flying against the wind and power. also, is the intensity of the hurricane the same as on land as 2 miles up
So much respect for these people ✊
May God be with them in the future all glory to god
United States Air Force !
Today is September 1st 2019 and I suggest that the hurricane hunters take a powerful magnet to the center of a hurricane and spin it in the reverse of the storm in a horizontal plane for experimental interest .!
leonard brodt -With technology The way it is progressing, I think hurricane Hunter planes will be a thing of the past in another 20 or 30 years
Amazing , just out of curiosity , what if your average 737 flew into a hurricane, what would happen
dizzysdiamonds the engines would flood out, lots of stress on the wings maybe causing micro cracks. These planes have modified turboprops that turn the rain/water into a mist that the engines can handle. Since C130’s are designed to go to war they are built more sturdy/durable. All in all, you risk stalling.
Airlines make it a point to avoid severe storms by diverting elsewhere or changing flight path to skirt a storm and not just hurricanes. First of all, the passengers are not going to be very happy with the airline for making them ride through a hurricane. As strange as it may sound, thunderstorms are more dangerous to an aircraft than hurricanes. For thunderstorms that enters a flight route, that route is typically closed to air traffic and the flights in route are diverted elsewhere. This is because these storms can stretch all the way to over 50,000 ft. and some have been report to over 70,000 ft. But tropical storms and hurricane are usually not as tall, so a modern jet airline can fly over it. Hurricanes are wide, but not tall. Thunderstorms are smaller in width, but can be very tall.
God bless you and your family!
Cool
They have penetrated Irene with turbo propelled aircraft. What a porn.
Amazing job! Try ATSC now
Well 4 turbo propelled engines, light aircraft, reduced wing surface, powerful radar on nose And underneath airplane. Basically this airplane is. A. Chair with too. Much horse power :D
Did they penetrate Hurricane Audrey?
I wonder if a drone could fly through a hurricane?
no. you need signal to operate a drone and electrical storms tend to affect signals
