R142/R142A 6 Train Action at Astor Place
Due to track maintenance on the 6 line in the Harlem River tubes, trains ran in 2 sections between Pelham Bay Park and 125 Street and from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall to 125 Street and via the 4 line to/from 149 Street-Grand Concourse with the latter section of the 6 using loaned R142 and R142A sets from the 4 line due to a lack of access from Westchester yard where the 6 is normally based from. Seen here are some of these R142s and R142As running on the 6 line taken on July 7, 2024.

Due to Ulmer Park depot being short on buses for the day, Jackie Gleason depot had loaned 2 C40LFs to them that ran in service on the B1, B6, B36, B64 and B74 routes throughout the entire day. Due to a week long Bx90 5 train shuttle bus from East 180 Street to Dyre Avenue, Gun Hill depot had received a handful of 2015 XD40s from Fresh Pond depot as loans for the week to be able to cover both the shuttle and their regular service routes. Because of track replacement beijg performed on the layup tracks at Church Avenue where the G train usually terminates at, G trains were temporarily extended to 18 Avenue on the F line on weekdays and cut back to Smith 9 Streets on weekdays for about a month from August to September 2021. R160 (D) Train at 79 Street (F via West End)

Due to delays on the Culver Line because of a train's emergency brakes being activated at Kings Highway, a single F train was rerouted via the D line on West End and oddly enough the conductor of the train signed it up as a D train to Norwood-205 Street to likely reduce passenger confusion.
