    Yes Plato does have special name, it is called a misogynist, As a philosopher his personal opinion carries no weight, Philosophy is a personal opinion shouted from a perceived place of Authority. Philosophy has no peer review so as about as useful to the scientific method as creation. philosophy is worse than religion.

    The simple truth that; "I think, therefor YOU are!" proves that Descartes' initial search for 'Universal Truth' had failed. He never crawled from the Pit of duality. Thus the foundation of his and 'western philosophy' fails, thus... Until the update. The critically updated version of the 'Cogito' is; "Thoughts are perceived/appear, therefore an apparent 'I' to think 'I am'!" Thought = Ego! Pit transcended! ;)

    Liz Schwartz: The wisdom of the masses, and of G-d, will always exceed that of one or the few. Just as an economic system is too complicated to be run successfully by a few "elite," so, too, is the market of ideas. Also, someone with all of the knoweledge of mankind in Plato's day would be considered quite ignorant today. Add in our bumper rails that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, and there is an obvious deterance of rule by a few. There are so many reasons why rule by one or a few do not work. History has shown failure in that method over and over. While the one, the only, time we have tried individual sovereignty for every person has been the best, most prosperous civilization in all of history. America has forgotten this in the previous 100 years or so, but we're correcting our course now and there is no limit to what America can acheive as we return to our roots and to G-d. Quite a time to be alive!

    There is no way Plato was not talking about the psychedelic experience in this allegory. The Eleusinian mystery cult almost certainly involved entheogenic substances. That dimension of Greek philosophy has definitely been downplayed in the West.

  • @markschwartz7480
    @markschwartz7480 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Liz Schwartz: I would answer those questions with a no to both. The "true" reality which those who have been outside the cave have seen is a completely different one from the reality the in which those inside live, and therefore not the "true" reality for them. We humans have this incredible power of adaptability, forming ourselves around the reality within which we exist. Whether that reality is a cave, a neighborhood, or a social media account, we who live within it are best suited to do it in the best way possible. Among our many tools, however, is that of speech within a social group where new ideas can be communicated and evaluated to see if they fit within our environment. While the "enlightened" are more than welcome to communicate their ideas, they are no longer living in the same world, "true" or not, as the cave-dwellers, and therefore cannot be expected to make the best judgements on that existance. You see, G-d has already accounted for the allegory of the cave. Truly, each of us as individuals live in our own sovereign "cave." And G-d has given each of us the tools to find the best way to live within our perameters. In that way, though some might be better at it than others, we are all equally deserving of our personal sovereignty, provided we maintain any agreed-upon rules to the purpose of having to live together. Further, more knoweledge does not make one all-knowing. Every human is limited to one "cave" or another, and so no one can be elevated in that way. Who is to say that the world outside the cave is not merely a larger, brighter cave of some sort?

    But Who is GOD? GOD IS GOD AND MAN IS MAN, GOD IS NOT MAN AND MAN IS NOT GOD! GOD IS THE CREATOR, MAN'S THE CREATION. So, how about allowing God to introduce himself!! (Try being open minded or open hearted to be more precise) Quran chapter 112. In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. 1. Say, “He is God, the One. 2. God, the Absolute. 3. He begets not, nor was He begotten. 4. And there is none comparable to Him.” [QURAN 35.1] All praise is due to GOD, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, the Maker of the angels, messengers flying on wings, two, and three, and four; He increases in creation what He pleases; surely Allah has power over all things. [QURAN 2.255] GOD! There is no deity ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge-except what He wills ˹to reveal˺. His Seat1 encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Most High, the Greatest. [Quran 57.1-7] ALL THAT IS in the heavens and on earth extols God’s limitless glory: for He alone is almighty, truly wise! His is the dominion over the heavens and the earth; He grants life and deals death; and He has the power to will anything. He is the First and the Last, and the Outward as well as the Inward: and He has full knowledge of everything. He it is who has created the heavens and the earth in six aeons, and is established on the throne of His almightiness. He knows all that enters the earth, and all that comes out of it, as well as all that descends from the skies, and all that ascends to them. And He is with you wherever you may be; and God sees all that you do. His is the dominion over the heavens and the earth; and all things go back unto God [as their source]. He makes the night grow longer by shortening the day, and makes the day grow longer by shortening the night; and He has full knowledge of what is in the hearts [of men]. BELIEVE in God (worship only the creator lord alone, not some created being or angels) and His Apostle, and spend on others out of that of which He has made you trustees: for, those of you who have attained to faith and who spend freely [in God’s cause] shall have a great reward. SO WHAT DOES THE QURAN GUIDE US TO a) BELIEVE IN ONE UNSEEN CREATOR GOD. b)DO GOOD And AVOID EVIL DEEDS. c)SEEK GOD’S FORGIVENESS d)REPENT FOR YOUR SINS. e) BE GRATEFUL FOR THE INNUMERABLE BLESSINGS FROM GOD. f) AT LEASE HAVE THE INTENTION TO OBEY GOD WHEN YOU SPIRITUALLY REALISE THIS IS GOD’S WILL. g) Love JESUS, MOSES , And MUHAMMAD and follow their way BUT AVOID THEIR DIRECT OR INDIRECT WORSHIP AND ALL FORMS OF IDOLATRY AND HAVE FAITH IN THE FINAL JUSTICE AND JUDGMENT OF GOD ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION. h) THIS LIFE IS A TEST OF YOUR FAITH AND CHARACTER SO UNLESS YOU SEEK DIRECT SPIRITUAL-GUIDANCE OF GOD THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL GAIL THIS TEST. IF YOU DO THE ABOVE WITH SINCERITY YOU CAN TRUST GOD AND LEAVE THE REST TO GOD’S LOVE AND MERCY. All your objections about Islam are because the majority of Muslims do not follow the simple message of the Quran but also believe in Hadiths (Thousands of Reports attributed to the life of Prophet Muhammad), written almost 250 years after the death of the Prophet, which has distorted the original message of the Quran.
