Yeah I completely missed the trick there. I even looked at the tree man and didn't think to use the magic powder. Figured it out on my next run at least.

Yeah ultimately pc ports are probably the best way to play Rogue as it was but the portability of Switch is obviously a huge advantage. Here's hoping they can keep improving it because even in the buggy state it is a blast playing this on the go.

For the 7.99 price it's hard to go wrong. There are some issues I had, the first just being the kinda clunky way they did the choosing letters for choices when identifying or using items but in their defense they include instructions on every menu option and how to do everything so while it does require some instruction reading all the options are there once you know them. It does kinda take me back playing a game where you're expected to read the instructions first. There is, or was, a bug where when it asks you to name a potion or item, for example, it would pop up the keyboard but skip the message telling you what the potion or item did other than a brief flash of it before the keyboard opened. Granted that's an easy patch so I might have to do a follow up and see if that's been fixed. But other than that it was 100% what I remember and the core is still there. I do wish the original ASCII was an option but to be fair I would still mostly use the graphical interface we got. The original would have just been neat. And I am right there with you on game preservation. The Marvel vs Capcom collection that came out recently and the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 coming next year with things like Power Stone and Rival Schools being brought back is just so heartening. We need more classic games being given official ways to play them on modern platforms.

​@blackbeltboar4734 I got it last night, and it seems that the naming bug is still there, unfortunately. Maybe trying to rename it afterwards would be a work-around? Also, someone pointed out being unable to use the shortcut to shoot arrows. I figured out how to at least shoot arrows. 1. Go into the Equip Weapon menu 2. Select the bow 3. Press down the right stick to open the Action menu, go to the wheel that contains "Throw" and select it. When it asks which direction, press the appropriate one on the d-pad. 4. It will then open your inventory, asking which item to throw. Select the Arrows. You will then shoot an arrow at the enemy, and your inventory will contain one less arrow in the bunch. It's a bit of a roundabout way to shoot, but it works.

I'm running a GTX 1660 Super (which, to be fair, could probably use an upgrade at some point) CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and 16gb ram. I am going to play a bit without xsplit and see if there's a noticeable difference.

The option would definitely have been nice, especially since they have other screen filter options. And 100% on the UI scaling. It's not toooooo intrusive but, again, just having the option would be a nice feature. But even with those nitpicks it's still so cool to have it.

I'm definitely planning to do some editing together of compilations and shorts and such to have some more digestible bites of content for sure
