We take our first ride with the McCruise cruise control system on the Tenere 700. It works just like it would on a factory bike!

The is the last part of the trip where we make it to Old Quebec City. This is a lovely city with an old European feel to it. We spent most of the day visiting the citadel and then walked around the city streets to get something to eat before heading south. Thanks !!!
That is a car. That is not a Suzuki samurai
If I change my cat do I need to change my O2 sensor to. Also will the aftermarket cat do well enough to get me to pass smog
is this impressive??
They definitely needed to be changed. How do you like that engine overall?
It’s been amazing. For sure not a powerhouse but the biggest thing I tow is a 18’ base boat that is just under 3k lbs and does it with ease.
Use old filter to rub some oil on new ones gasket, so it doesn't stick and you won't need pliers to remove it next time. Or rub on with finger.
Does your motor use any oil at your miles? Really appreciate your vids!
I change the oil at every 5k and when I fill it up I go right to the top line on the dip stick and after 5k it’s just over the lower line.
Whats needed to make it street legal?
At this point it’s almost impossible. I had it titled in VT before moving down to NC.
Appreciate someone doing videos on 2.5l with a manual. I find myself interested in finding one. Wondering what you think of the power. I know it's not going to have v6 power, but is it adequate for freeway passing and getting up to freeway speeds without feeling underpowered?
I love it but most would feel it’s underpowered. I cruise at 75 no problem but any hill you likely need to downshift but I don’t mind. I tow a 18’ bass boat that’s just under 3k lbs and does it no problem.
It’s always enjoyable to watch a motorcycle travel video, especially in December.😊
Cool
bucket list material here!
how much did it weigh
Damn ol timer, I thought you had a 50 lb catfish😅
Hey man just got a 1979 z50 what do you recommend as a carb upgrade ? I’m new to all this
if its stock than the stock carb is best. Do not get any cheap Chinese carb you see on eBay and amazon
@ ok , and yes I believe it’s all stock but wanted to upgrade something as I want a little more power , what do you recommend as a first upgrade? Doesn’t even have to be power mod wise but what you think is best mods for it ?
Man you’re making up for lost time this past summer 😂
Lol I’m trying! It’s a great time to fish
Thanks! This was super helpful!
Are you using forward facing sonar or just a regular fish finder?
Just regular fish finder.
Is it size limit Would be flathead bilt
Not sure what you mean with that comment.
I love lake higgins but this year was tough .
Great tips!
If anyone can help me. I’m building a z50r and I can’t decide on buying a Chinese engine or should I buy PIRANHA 140CC and what type of swingarm
They are both Chinese made. The carb they give you is hit or miss. It really depends what you want to do. This one is street titled and has a lot of issues with limitations on brakes. I know have disk brakes front and back from a kx65.
Coolant flush? What about the old coolant left in the heater core and various hoses. Not the best way to do the job.
I’m about to go through this process. What’s the better way?
Thanks!!!
Nice Job Dave. Looks simple enough with your process. Thanks for the detailed step by step instructions. looking forward to the clutch replacement. The transmission is short and simple but that bell housing is long and lanky. Wondering how long the input shaft is.
Hello Dave Changed the Tee on my 2019 Colorado today. No problems with exception of releasing and moving the GM hose clamps. A total PITA without the proper tool. Now I know why You changed the clamps. Thanks for the heads up.
Looking forward to Part 2!
Crankbaits seem to work better at belews in my opinions . im sure I’ll see you on the water one day !
Awesome!! I live within 10 miles of that lake …. Never bass fished that lake before …. There’s so boating recreation on that lake but it’s a beautiful lake I believe the last time I was on the lake I was frog Gigging late night about 40 years ago
Great job man. I think you got the lake figured out :)
No water pump?
Nope. I did replace the cat recently though
@DoingDaveStuff i did my cat also was rusted at the coupling to the exhuast . I love my 6 speed. Just did thermostat and temp sensor. Not sure if the water pumps dieing or airlock in the cooling system. 😔 First real problem besides little things like hose clamps
Hey Dave, like your video...but Campbellton is pronounced Camp-bul-tun. emphasis on Camp
and Perce Rock is pronounced Peer-Say
Thanks for the corrections.
Torque value is always specified as dry, not wet from any oil. It causes trouble. The oil is migrating from the threads over time and bolts get stuck pretty bad. For these oil drain and filler bolts (final drive aluminium cap) best practice is to hold the wrench close to the pivot point, not using any lever but when you have a torque wrench then perhaps it is best to lower the amount of force and take notes because likewise it is evidence for being sufficient when the bolts or caps have to come loose. Many mechanics will not know about the different torque, wet or dry and suspect factories already compensate but standardization calls for drastic measures. Therefor, also, please do ask shops and dealers to lower the amount of force being applied to wet threads. The oil filters are no exception since some of them are reported to be prone of being torn apart. Both the final gear oil filler cap and the oil filter have rubber rings so would it not be enough seeing those compress firm between both sides? Expect the bolts to be stuck and use an extension for the socket wrench even though this must be handled with care and apply penetrating oil, in case the bike is new to you. People will keep treating bolts as if they are dry. Thanks for posting
What happen if by mistake I used oil 5w30 instead of 5w-20 . I used full synthetic oil.
I doubt it’s going to be an issue but refer to your manual and or dealer
It's fine unless you live in an area where it's frequently below 10 degrees. Even then it would be years before any damage would ever occur, which most likely would never happen
I have a 2018 2.5 automatic. It just hit 90k. It hauls more flooring than I can lay in a day along with my tools. My only issue is throttle response. It’s a perfect work truck though.
Superb video! Watched 3 others first, kept looking, found this one. Bingo!
I assume to replace this part you'd first have to drain the coolant?
Its so high up on the system just try to catch the little bit of coolant that comes out. Obviously if you are near being due to replace then yes replace the whole coolant
@@DoingDaveStuff thanks!
Dave where is the fuel filter on these engine 2.5l
I think its part of the fuel pump assembly in the tank. Never needed to change mine.
@@DoingDaveStuff at what mileage should should it be changed or just wait till it goes out? My owners'manual is no help. Thanks.
@@iggguerrero5844it’s considered lifetime. So when it goes bad
Similar operation I perform on my 2019 Colorado except I change the oil every 3K. I'm an old school guy. Also, when starting the engine after the oil change, I press the accelerator pedal to the floor and crank the engine for 10 seconds. The engine will not start ( called flood control) which will build oil pressure. Then release accelerator pedal and start the engine. Good job. I enjoy your videos.
Where did you buy it
www.gmpartsdirect.com/ There were local to me as well which helped. Very easy to work with.
I gotta get me a dog walking top water....do you ever watch Adub's channel? He fishes tournaments on Belews and posts videos of it. He's been catching them on the same top water lure
Never heard of them. I’ll have to check it out.
I put a link in the description of the lure I use
Thank You Dave
Planning to get the same Garmin unit in a couple of months. Great Review!
Does anyone know how many quarts of fluid does the manual transmission take ?

@@DoingDaveStuff Thank You !
What are your gear ratio front and back?
I forgot but basically the biggest you can fit upfront and the smallest you can find for the rear. Even then it needs more top end gearing.
I own a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado with this same setup. Love the truck and just turned 40K. Recently changed rear pads and rotors. Tires are to be changed within the next month. Change the oil and filter every 3K. Only problem has been the windshield washer squirters needed replacing, Milage is 23 around town and 35 highway at 2K RPM. With 4:10 rear gears it revs up quickly, so you need to keep that in mind. Great review !
35 on the highway is a great number. I usually travel around 70-78 on the highways around me so i dont see that on mine.
Stock engine
Its a stock Piranha 140CC
And that's when they get mad when they can't catch them then pull you over
