Kia EV9 Light Long Range RWD displaying overestimated range #ev9
มุมมอง 3205 หลายเดือนก่อน
Max range should be 304, but Kia Connect app and car both showed more than 350 mile estimated range. It didn't seem to get more accurate while driving until we used about 30% of the battery. Not sure if this is because I usually only charge to 80% and/or usually only drive in town. Have you ever seen it over estimate the range like this? Realistically, we went about 113 miles at highway speeds ...

X-Acto Spiral Electric Pencil Sharpener Review
Thanks for posting!
Thank you so much for your video! I couldn’t figure out how this “new and improved” fastener system worked, as the wife was saying, “Sorry, this was supposed to be easy.” A complete fail by the manufacturer in not providing ANY instructions or illustrations of how this fastener was supposed to work. But for your video, we would have sent this back. Thanks again!
It's ridiculous that these gauges fail after a couple years. Typically right after the warranty on the mower ends. I hope you called and complained to John Deere like I did.
Just hooked one up. It works nicely except I can’t stand that it won’t lock with a touch of a button from the exterior keypad. Seems like I need to manually leave it locked from the inside or use my key. Anyone else notice this or am I doing something wrong. My dead bolt locks I can hit kwikset button and it automatically locks it. Pretty dumb
Hey brotha, nice video, I need help I got a question. I have the opposite of your problem with the handle, both handles open it and so it wont lock.... where before you programmed it how the handle would move but not engage. Any suggestions?
Only thing I can reckon is if the lock lever on the inside is turned to the right. (Horizontal) It should be vertical to be in lock mode. You might have to put the battery in and switch the lock lever back and forth.
*catastrophic failure hahahahahahaha* that poor wedge i've pulled rebar and ground rods using pipe wrench and 'ol bumper jack, have two rebarbs next to the avocado tree trunk only an inch sticking out, gonna try your vice grip hack. got lot's of 2x4's use a piece last night to remove transmission bearing. brother said "you need a brass hammer" looked at him *"hold my cerveza"* 🍺 removed and drank it all up *Cerveza for you* 🍺 *that's what she said*
Worth the watch just for the commentary.......cornbread and conversation......where the satellites live.....lol
Excellent video. Thanks!
Be sure Auto Hold is off and turn Regen to 0 before going into the car wash.
I don't think regen matters in neutral.
wrap a chain around rebar and somehow attach the same chain to a floor jack and good luck
Amazing, and here I thought I was only one that didn’t get instructions. 😂. Thanks for the help
Thank you so much. With no included instructions this was very helpful. Cheers
Mine cracked in the same spot on the back and directly across in the front. Seems like a manufacturing/molding issue with so many people having the same problem. Smells like a class action lawsuit. I'm down for getting a $5.74 check in 8-10 years! 😂
Had the same problem with identical crack on the front. Since the cracks appear to be in the exact center of the front and rear, it appears to be a problem associated with the molding process.
It you do this again you should add a little more information such as how fast you are driving and what the outside temperature is. Without that it’s hard to determine what any of this means. And if you have an attack chicken in the car you should show it as it adds some fun to the video. I hope you are enjoying the car.
th-cam.com/video/1M5OXM38m84/w-d-xo.htmlsi=J3v5Y6mHA15Mg6oX Quick disconnects. Can’t figure out the new ones
I had the same crack in the back, but only noticed it after a while, bought a new one as a backup for the day I would need to replace it, when the time came, I started unboxing the new one, and noticed the new one, which was still wrapped up also had the crack at the same spot. Kohler would not take it back since too much time passed since I bought it. must be a manufacturing error of some sort.
Update: The issue with the crack was back in 2022, the new ones now in 2024, like your new one, don't seem to have the crack issue any more.
Gracias!
de nada
Sounds like the review of a Wild West horsey. But turns out to be EV. Hilarious.
I was wondering too! Couldn't find any info on it
Many thanks! The lack of installation instructions in the box was annoying. We had 3 Kohler toilet seats that lasted 6 years before each of them started showing cracks, one in exactly the same place you noticed, the others along the side. Happened with or without the installed soft padding wedges, since we had two with and one without, all of which eventually cracked.
Really?
No cap.
Hydrogen peroxide diluted with water works safer and I have used My Pet Peed and it worked great!!!
When i unlock it with the key it lets me in but if i unlock it with the inside it doesnt work??
Not sure ... Unless the battery is dead. You should hear the electronic lock unlock when you turn the level inside to the unlock position.
@@franklylivin The battery is still completely charged since I got it like 3 days ago.
Thanks. I just bought one today
EU and Korean model has Car Wash button on the screen.. not sure why removed it for US. I get it many people likes fast car wash but like any expensive cars, you don't want to put thru auto car wash if you want to preserve the paint. I would use the no-touch car wash or use pressure wash
I get that. I got the Light Long Range trim for the practicality and low maintenance. (not performance and style) I'm lazy so running it through the auto wash is a quick way to get the job done. No issues with the paint yet.
Like the other folks are saying, THANK YOU! No instructions in the box for this model of seat, and my old seat had a simple nylon screw and nut. Had no idea how to use this new fastener system, I would've never figured this out without your video!
I use compressed air. It helps to get the hair out.
Instead of paper it eorks great.
Smart!
I MUST send you a BIG Thank You for this video. I had the same problem with my old seat, except the crack was at the front instead of the back as your was. I ordered the same replacement seat which came with ABSOLUTELY NO INSTRUCTIONS. I did not find the installation process self evident at all, and I sincerely appreciate how you saved me a lot of frustration and time wasting. I also appreciated your tip about reusing the seat support thingies as the package was missing one! Thanks again from one weekend warrior to another!!
This was so helpful AND entertaining! Thank you!!
Tip: DO NOT PUT THE EV9 INTO A CARWASH.
Been through a few times now. No issues. Couple manual washes as well. Did you have a bad experience?
@franklylivin no, but the machines are harsh on car finishes. Hand car washing is best for car finishes.
@@marzlittle ain't nobody got time for that...or I don't, at least
Great tutorial but I can’t figure out why my door won’t close from the outside. It will if I enter the code but you should be able to close the door without doing that. Any ideas what I did wrong or if I have a defective one maybe?
Is it possible you have the part that goes into the door jamb hole backwards or upside down? Around the 25 second mark. Or maybe it is protruding too far out?
@@franklylivin thank you! You were right I had it the wrong direction.
car wash mode is for European models only. US models they left it out. Not sure why. We all need it. Just like they left out the SD Card slot to auto video record your driving. Only Korean models got that and they removed that everywhere else. Would have been nice in an event of a car crash. Could go back and see who is at fault.
Thanks
Brilliant idea and worked well for me. Thanks for sharing. Chris, New Zealand
thanks so much! never could have figured it out without your great video and commentary!
Thanks man! I had know idea how those crazy bolts worked!
Brother there is a car wash mode on the screen 😂
Where? I have looked and looked. Am I blind? I don't think the Light Long Range RWD comes equipped with car wash mode...
117 mi at 51%? Is this pretty true to real world mileage you’re still getting on your Light Long Range?
I think that's probably pretty realistic. I think it would get at least that. I've only put just over 2,000 on it, so still getting used to what is realistic depending on driving conditions. A couple recent drives that were 130-140 miles with an average speed was 70 mph only used 1/3 of the battery (each trip) in terms of kWh. (only regenerated like 2 kWh during each drive) I'm still not sure what all it takes into consideration (ex: drive style/history) when showing the estimated range. I just got a software update for the cluster that now also shows the high and low remaining range estimates on that screen. I think I've only driven it down below 20% once, so it's hard to say how much faster it will lose range under 50%.
“In case you’re an infant and get stuck in there” classic
Thanks! That worked.
Nice video I was thinking about this with most of my doors - inside - my son is on the autistic spectrum and storing cleaning supplies and other hazardous stuff away from him and keeping him out of basement is my reason for these
"No crack to pinch your butt..." Gotta' love it!! Best unspoken advice... line up the sides before the final tightening of the screws.
Girth giggity
We have 3 Kohler soft close toilets that are 3-4 years old and 2 of the seats have cracked
Automatic car washes leave swirls in the paint job. Not doing this
Exactly, I only hand wash my cars including my BMWs, Chevys and most recently our EV9.
do you have matte finish? I heard that Matte finish color options are not to be put in car wash, hand wash only - which was biggest reason why we opted to not select matte as cool as they looked.
You sure don't want your bum pinched do you?
Thanks!! hunter has so messed up video of install.i could use this to see internal of fan and bulb change unit without opening package
Could you lock door from keypad?
It will automatically lock. If you flip the lever on the back to disable the auto lock function, I don't believe you can lock it from the keypad. At least not without using a physical key.
Was at this for awhile. Got a 2ft breaker bar and a 1/2 socket. I put a 2x4 in the blade to stop the rotation. This was far more effective than the stopper button. Came off easily with that approach
In our case, the blade wasn't turning, so 2x4 wouldn't help. The bolt was turning independent from the blade, but never came out.
