When I saw wheel of fortune last week I was fall asleep missed the show then my tv screen was blacked that I can't see last November I watched it on my tablet before I took off from 2 days work of Thanksgiving recess.
I am so sad to hear about Stanley Siegel's passing. My mother (zt'l) and I would watch his show on WABC, Channel 7 in the mornings. Actually, we were fortunate to get tickets to one of his shows. My mom, who was a very gutsy lady went over to say hello to him when the show was finished. He was very sweet to her, I was embarrassed, but I was happy for her. Mr. Siegel, I hope my beloved mom and you have met again in Shamayim. Thank you for so many funny and happy memories.
I would watch Wheel of Fortune with Bob Goen everytime I was off from school and during the summer months. I was 2 months away from First Grade when the daytime show moved to CBS and was a disappointed on my first day off from school as I started 3rd Grade.
Every time I watch an episode of Wheel of Fortune with Bob Goen, I always ask why he wasn't their first choice after Pat Sajak left the daytime version.
I thought that they should have brought him back for the nighttime version, instead of Seacrest. I always thought that he did a good job, and the chemistry with him and Vanna was also good.
I vaguely remember him.......oh, I loved the 70's. Remember Bernard Meltzer, and that sex therapist, Dr. RUTH WEISTHEIMER??? And Rambling with Gambling?
Every time I watch an episode of Goen *"Wheel of Fortune,"* it reminds me of when I was three/four years old... Every other morning, my auntie would always go to Burger King and get me two ham and cheese Breakfast Buddies, tater tots (with lots of ketchup lol), and a Tropicana orange juice, and i would "nom" as I watch! Ahhh... the late '80s/early '90s... #Feelinnostalgic
that's practically my-go-to breakfast on Sumnday (I get the Ham , Egg & Cheese Croissan'wich, Medim Hash Browns, Medium Coke Noi Ice and 2 chocolate Chip cookies.
There were quite a few episodes back in the day where Final Spins and thus Speed Up rounds didn't happen. Speed Ups didn't become a constant thing every episode until sometime in 2000.
@@justinmiddleton8818 I think that was when they started to keep playing until time ran out. I remember they would sometimes they be able to play 3 more rounds after the fourth round with that last round being speed run.
That fourth round was epic. ONce upon a time, back in the 80s and 90s, you saw contestants spin in the final round to try to get enough to take the lead to win the game, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't(having to finish a round in speed up, which wasn't a regular thing until around 2000, didn't help when that happened)
Dear Raphael, My College Professor Addison Gayle was on Stanley's Show in the late 70's. His son has written a book about his father, could you let me know how to possible get a video of that show? Fred
So surprised to hear about my beloved Stanley. He was full of life and fun and sane insanity. I remember that on one of his psycho jags he told the audience that his morning routine included brushing his teeth while taking a shower. He was a delight and his travelogues were a lot of laughs too. Does anyone remember that at one time the show intro song was Weather Report's Birdland? Long time ago. Rest in peace Stanley, we had a whole lot of fun with you.
I actually did get a job at WABC-TV channel 7, the same local station that broadcast his show and eventually went on to work for the network in various jobs until I left the TV business in 1985 and have since changed careers multiple times. I am now very happy in my own business and have a daughter who has been a news producer at NBC News and is now a freelance journalist.
What a sad day Raphael, with the passing of the legendary Stanley Siegel...I hope things worked out well for you over the past 40 years or so, and thank you so much for having posted this video...there was nobody like Stanley before or since..RIP
There is a very well written NY TIMES obituary of Stanley in today's paper...that is how I stumbled on the news of his death...unfortunately only us seniors and those of us who grew up in the NY tri-state area would likely remember him..I just found the segment with you to be so typical Stanley, and laugh out funny...I understand a lot of folks likely didn't get his brand of humor...but that was their loss....thanks again for posting the segment...

The Pat Sajak show was about to be cancelled. I wonder if he had no interest in doing the daytime version anymore.
Where's Pat Sajak?
When I saw wheel of fortune last week I was fall asleep missed the show then my tv screen was blacked that I can't see last November I watched it on my tablet before I took off from 2 days work of Thanksgiving recess.
If I remember, this Show was largely based on Hangman.
Do you remember if you got on this Show through 1 of the Contestant Searches?
Yes. It was through a Contestant Search at a resort owned by Merv Griffin in the Bahamas. Merv was the owner of the show.

It’s sad to see Pat and Vana retiring. But all good things must come to an end.
Vanna isn’t retiring yet. Just Pat
@@AnimatedIdiotGuideActually Pat decided to still host the show but just the Celebrity Wheel.

My goodness...the wheel values in that 1st round is laughable! I mean I know it's the daytime version but $100-$175 spaces is ridiculous 😅

26:40 - All contestants get the "Wheel of Fortune Junior Edition" box game to play at home.
Ken vs Raphael vs juile. From wheel of fortune 1990
