E and O Hotel Penang
Annnnnnnd we’re back! If you’re still following along, thank you so much for sticking with us throughout this lull in posting, we appreciate you so much 🫶
This was our first trip post-covid when the borders opened. The first thing we did was head to Malaysia. Our first stop was Penang in September 2022 and we returned to the iconic E&O Hotel.
As a special treat to ourselves which was due to a combination of our first trip overseas post-covid and both our birthdays, we stayed in a corner suite at the E&O Hotel. It was quite simply….epic! And we just wanted to share a little of it with you here.

I am from Kelantan. First place I arrived in Borneo was in Kuching, Sarawak. Next trip I plan to visit all cities in Sarawak first and then Mount Kinabalu in Sabah

Welcome back! Have missed you guys! I love the look of the E and O ... I know Singapore Raffles is iconic, and beautiful but the E and O looks just as special. And no regular person can afford the Raffles these days. Certainly out of my reach. But Penang is gorgeous and I would love to be staying there 🙂

The construction of the masjid was interrupted several times, once when two elephants belonging to the Sultan and Raja Chulan fought, overran and damaged the Italian marble tiles. The outbreak of World War I also affected its construction. The Ubudiuah Masjid, its architecture is in the Indo-Saracenic style. It has a central golden dome, and four minarets as well as turrets topped with smaller golden domes. Italian marble was used to add bands of darker colour to the white building.
