Couldn't agree more. What we believe needs to hold up to testing and scrutiny, or else we won't know when we end up being wrong. Unfortunately, a lot of people seem utterly unwilling to consider this. I talk to my family, I show them all the proof that Christianity isn't true, that the religion we were raised in is a lie, and they just don't seem to grasp it. They refuse to consider the possibility that this particular belief might be wrong, even when all testing and scrutiny points to it being wrong. It's very frustrating.
Powerful points Friend - I've learned that in order to discuss any complex issue with someone who holds an opposing view we must address it as a collection of propositions and speak to each individually. Glad you're out there cross referencing your beliefs! Keep it up!
