    If the earth had rings wouldn't they be around our equator meaning that space exploration would only possible from the poles?

    My professor told me that when this happens there's a huge chance that because the space in between the stars of both galaxies is so gigantic that we won't hit anything, earth will go on (assuming it's still there to begin with)

    Follow up: Black holes do not recycle anything. Spacetime and its contents curve (fall): into a point. Over time, because of Hawking Radiation, such objects evaporate as half of a virtual particle pair into spacetime, until the remnant bursts as a shower of photons. Some 10 to the 1000 years from now, the process will complete. Spacetime will expand and the mass within it will diffuse to a mean. Heat death.

    • @NixnayExploration
      @NixnayExploration 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You're absolutely correct-black holes themselves don’t actively recycle matter in the way we traditionally think of "recycling." What I meant was that they play a significant role in the cosmic ecosystem by pulling in gas and dust, which can indirectly contribute to star formation outside the event horizon. As for Hawking Radiation, it’s fascinating to consider how black holes slowly lose mass over time, eventually evaporating into photons. The timeline you mention-10^1000 years-is mind-boggling and emphasizes just how slow this process is on a cosmic scale. The idea of heat death, where the universe reaches thermodynamic equilibrium and all usable energy is lost, paints a haunting picture of the far future. Thanks for pointing this out-it’s always great to dive deeper into the incredible physics behind these mysterious objects!
