Sweeping the "waviness" factor of my Sisyphus table pattern generator from 0-500, this is a 2x speed version of that (120 GB in size!). Over 320,000 frames of animation, each is a Sisyphus table design. This is actually 2x speed - which I find too fast, but I ran into the 125 GB file size limit, so I'll be uploading the "normal" speed run as 2 half-length animations. Github Pages: dbulla.github...

Typically, several hours, sometimes a day, it depends on the complexity and what speed I've got it set to (can run faster or slower)

Amazing :D what's the noise level on this? is silent and also does take lots of juice to power it up in terms of KWs ? :)
If you run it at higher speeds, you can hear the servo motors, but at the "normal" speeds all you hear is the ball moving through the sand - sort of a soft "crunching" sound. It uses very little power - the power supply only supplies 12V at 6A (that's 72 W)
Do you need to keep the table plugged in 24/7 I'm assuming
Yes. You can have it "sleep" through the night, and either have the lights completely off, or in a "nightlight" mode

This is amazing! Was there a 2021 contest as well or only 2020? I just ordered a Sisyphus LE V4 about a week ago. I'll get it in March and I can't wait! Your own series of patterns also looks amazing. Thank you for sharing this.
I think just 2021. They didn't have the community web site up a while back, it makes it much easier to share. Glad you liked the video, and enjoy your table when it comes!

I didn't built it, although there may be plans out there on the net for something similar. I bought mine from Sisyphus Industries - check out sisyphus-industries.com/ - mine is a 3 foot diameter model, they have much smaller (and cheaper) versions for sale.
I bought the table from Sisyphus Industries, and don't know how to make one. Sorry.
