I can't remeber why really but looking back there was a lot that i'll change when i do the challange again. I'm likely to restart sometime in the upcoming weeks but tbh i'm dreading it ahah. It's definitely worth it, and a good challange because even though i didn't make it to the end, it actually reset my base eating/lifestyle habits to make them nearly 5-10% better which is good! Have you tried this challenge yet? I'll restart soon but tbh right now i'm not in mooood ahaha xx

      @@princessofproductivity I see, I think making it a challenge to be productive and get yourself do it might be little stressful for me personally.... I wanna make a lifestyle shift rather than finishing a challenge. Like if I start counting the hard work I did, I might end up rebounding pretty fast so I'd rather take it slow. there are 2 things i think may be contributing to this problem of eating good but still having cravings (ive been struggling too recently understanding this and approaching it in my own life and so far ive got some solutions that help me, but its still something that bothers me too, so i totally get this video) 1. brain conditioning we're all concerningly addicted to sugar i know this is something thats said all the time (and also something that personally makes me feel guilty, i dislike this phrase a lot, but rn im using it scientifically), however its realistic when we think ab how we grew up. ofc this is not universal but i think most of us have grown up in middle-ish class families, snacking on chocolate and waking up with cereal and cookies. its literally proven that our brains get used to that sweet, addicting taste, so even when we do crave healthy foods we kinda miss the sugar-y aspect of food, resulting in eating digestive biscuits or literally anything thats available to suit our brain conditions. so i dont think you should beat yourself up for eating more ''unhealthy stuff''. my way of approaching this is just accepting the craving, but not overindulging in a way that would just make my stomach hurt and lower my energy. sure, if u have the option and the possibility of doing a total detox (removing sweets from ur house, setting limits, fasting etc) thats great too :D but its important to fit ur goals with what ur used to already, and slowly remove the negative habits in the process. its all adjustable with time and patience 2. restricting (mentally and physically) im sure this is something most people have learnt now with diet culture and all that but perhaps the reason why you want that cookie even after eating healthy and nourishing your body is because of mental tricks. we've started to label processed food as the devil of nutrition, so by classifying it as something that is forbidden to eat (because of exagerations that it'll destroy our gut health, our progress, too many carbs etc), it tricks our brains into wanting to break the so-called-rules and therefore we indulge in it even after eating healthy foods. its really all just mind games. and to completely be able to reject that craving of the biscuits takes time and a lot of discipline. if you want to go for that, sure, have the patience to fit that into your life (although be careful of developing an ed), but really ive just accepted that i live in a society where its better to just have 50/50, or when i really try 80/20. not stressing about these things also gives me much more discipline, because i know theres no point in worrying about small things like godamn food :,) these things take some time to accept and work on (the process of understanding yourself isnt that easy apparently), but its worth it at the end when you can have the salad and later on in the day understand that a bite of a biscuit will also make you happy and wont ruin any progress you ve made. good luck on your self improvement journey ^^

    • @princessofproductivity
      @princessofproductivity 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      wow. to be honest i'm just in awe with how intelligent and articulate you are. Yes I agree, in the long run cutting out whole food groups just isnt quite the solution and usually i'd say we have the same approach in that I try to not cut out anything, but instead focus on priortising undeniably nutritious food, but i've also been really commited to doing 75 hard and i guess it's just hard being this displinced with not eating added sugar, i know it's in the name and it's meant to be hard ahaha but it's like this challenge is definetly complicating my relationship with eating and to be honest, i'm not sure how i feel about that. It's like 75 hard is good for practising self displince, no doubt! but what will my relationship with eating look like as a consequence? will it lead to binging? I don't think I'd allow that, but being so strict with eating even if it's just for the short term does make this a possibility...still thinking about this one. Based on the way you write, i can tell that you're actually quite far in your self development journey? where would you say you're at right now? how did you get to this point? xx

      @@princessofproductivity hello again! responding to your questions, im trying to improve everyday and adjust my life around these ''self development'' habits because i know theyre gonna give me the life i want (you can call it 75 soft challenge, because in my case i just dont see it necessary to go through the hard path to improve, i think difficulties will come along the way anyway :,) and its also not sustainable for everyone,) and as much as i appreciate your assumptions, im just a teenage girl trying to make the most out of my life, so refering to your video and content, i can totally understand your povs. for the past year or so ive discovered its much better to focus on the small goals i have everyday instead of the whole journey, it helps so much with productivity and mental health overall haha. so, in the case of food, when i find myself kind of in a slump one day (like skipping a workout, or indulging in foods i dont consider healthy, doing whatever is thought to be the opposite of self disciplinary actions), ive found it really helpful to accept the situation and improve it by small actions (at the end of the day, i still do some yoga or just meditate, journaling helps a lot in the case of binging or other stuff that bothers me. a comfort habit of mine is drinking peppermint tea after i feel upset at my relationship with food lol). the journey really matters when you look back at how many ''good actions'' you took alongside the ''bad actions'' which are inevitable really, we're only human (and ofcourse trying to remove sugar isnt that easy, as direct as the challenge may take it, its normal to still have cravings in such a short time period). maybe replacing the unhealthy stuff with substitues can help (what i used to do was instead of chocolate, id get some protein choco flavored bar, or instead of biscuits id get some whole grain ones and set a portion that id eat that would fit into my eating plan) i cant really give a straight answer as to where i am, because im still learning :,) but what ive learnt so far is that self improvement is definitely subjective to every person, their lifestyle and personal situation. theres no use copying people's formulas, diets or habits. i went through a looot of switching routines, trying nutrition plans, trying to be as healthy as i could. it takes time, but discipline is really setting adjustable routines for you (at the beginning they can be really basic, you develop and add to them with time), and following them. for me, ive ditched the food limits and now i just try to follow what would make my taste buds happy but also add in some nutritional elements (balance eating basically, i rly recommend you avoid diets), i have a set workout routine that i know fits with my schedule (i also began to enjoy it after a few weeks, but it wasnt always consistent and thats ok) and i just accept the changes that are always going to be made. nothing is set really and its amazing when you embrace that. didnt emphasise it enough, but journaling helped me a lotttt i recommend it so much. after you understand yourself and your limits, its much more easy to improve. i hope you have a nice day/night <3
