Cobalt Image has profiles that come very close to film. They have profiles so different brand of cameras will match each other so if you second shooter with another photographer and they have a different brand its not a problem.

One of the risk of film is if the power goes out and the film is in the developer your film will be cooked. Best to ask if they have backup power. Wedding photographer Joe Buissink had this happen to him and he had to use his second shooter images.

Take care of your body because if you hurt yourself it sucks as a wedding photographer. If you hurt yourself do the Carnivore Diet and eat grass feed beef and eggs and use sea salt. Just look on TH-cam there is a huge community for the Carnivore Diet. Its the one downside of wedding photography if you get hurt. I dislocated my shoulder not fun.

Try mounting a DJI Pocket or GoPro to your camera to see if that works for your BTS.

Love this! I definitely agree with a lot of what you said. When photography became a job I did feel the need to compensate with more fun hobbies as well 😅

Maybe I'm weird, but I kind of like the lighting here...nobody else that I subscribe to is doing "bathed in light from behind", so it's pretty unique! And it works with the framing of the video, too...at least, I think it does! Cheers!

This was so much fun to watch, the excitement while you're shooting is infectious and very relatable haha! I love doing these kinds of stills shoots where I can just be in my element and tinker by myself. 😌

Back when I shot senior pics and model portfolios for teens, I too dealt with the moms who wanted to "direct" their kids and control the shoot. I would just politely say to the mom, (who has seen my website and hired me based on the pictures on that website), if I was able to shoot those pictures without your assistance, I can probably shoot your kid without assistance. But then I would usually let them participate by being the wardrobe, hair & makeup stylist during the shoot...just not the posing and facial expression coach. Generally, the mom would want EVERY picture to be a gigantic smile and a "sit up straight" shot. Drove me nuts!

Hi, nice video, Good job with your photography journey... I'm also a Canon shooter. I tried to open the link for your camera used and it just takes me to the Canon webpage. Which Canon camera do you own? and is that the Sigma lens making the focus noise? Im about to spring some money for the 18-35mm Sigma and I want to make sure it isn't noisy because I also do a lot of video but I use the camera mic for my scratch track and I use a lapel mic for my subjects as well as a boom mic overhead...

Nikonian. Whatever goes in my bag is what I'm using that day (I have several sizes). Always: D4. Backup: D3. Alts: D800 & D700. Infrared: D90 converted by Life Pixel. Lenses: whatever they are, they're fast. Minimum f2.8 or better. AF and MF. I'm no pro by any stretch of the imagination (I work for a living); it's been a hobby for 30 years.

I'm in this predicament right now. It's hard finding the time to be out and about with a full time job and other household responsibilities. I'm using a Canon EOS R with a 50mm 1.8 and a 35mm 1.8. Loved this video. Keep it up.

Just found you Gaige! I enjoyed the video and honestly I appreciate the simple style. While the polished videos are nice, I think the natural discussion style is entirely valid. I’m from the East, but now I live in Texas and run a photo business here and teach graphic design! I have heard it said that a client is paying for the thousands of hours that you have put into perfecting your craft, not just the time it takes you to perform a task.
