What's happening at Love Canal? PART ONE
Where are the most toxic places on Earth? Well, this Is love Canal, one of the most toxic places in the entire world. This place is only surpassed by Chernobyl as the most toxic place in the world. And now, 40 years later, neighbors are claiming that there are still toxic materials coming into their homes and in their basements. As part of this film, we were invited by some people that live in these neighborhoods to see what's inside their basements and in their front yards. And what we found, quite frankly, was shocking. PART TWO IS IN PRODUCTION

A rotary car dumper or wagon tippler is a mechanism used for unloading certain railroad cars such as hopper cars, gondolas or mine cars (tipplers) like this one. It holds the rail car to a section of track and then rotates the track and car together to dump out the contents. Used with gondola cars, it is making open hopper cars obsolete. Because hopper cars require sloped chutes in order to dir...

    @16:49 I'm assuming you meant consistent, not constant. Nice docu. I personally think the City of Niagara Falls carries as much responsibility - if not more - than Hooker/Oxy in this matter. They downplayed it then, and they downplay it now, and sadly, a lot of hardcore NF residents drink the local government's propaganda Kool-Aid and really believe the assertion that all is well down at Love Canal. It isn't. Very much looking forward to Part 2.

    I'm an environmental scientist now, but a big reason I got into it was because my grandfather and his brother grew up in love canal. He would tell me stories about playing on the playground, there would be rainbow puddles everywhere and kids would jump in them as kids do. Then he would just hear screaming, cause a kid would get the water in his eyes and it would start burning. Now in his early 70s, he and his brother are still having health problems associated with love canal, specifically dental issues. The one good thing that came from love canal was that it became the first EPA brownfield, giving the EPA a way to raise funds to treat and try to clean up areas like this.

    That thing was leaking back in 2008-2010 on Colvin Blvd and 96th St. A section of the road was being eroded away and created a dip in the road. They did some excavations and repairs to the road, but that dip still remains. The hauled away the stuff they dug up in lined dumpsters with workers in Tyvek suits. They had large vacuum trucks pumping out the main sewer line all the way down Colvin Blvd. Then they set in robotic cameras in the sewers to inspect them. I went down in my basement to the floor drain and gathered up a couple samples from the P trap of the rainbow tinted black ooze. But they said there was nothing to worry about. There are some small water filled ditches outside the perimeter of the containment area that you can access that black ooze and stench is still present.

    Thanks for the elaboration. Yes, Muslims love cats and it's prohibitate to sell or buy cats. Cats are allowed to our most sacred place of worship in Mecca and Madina. Love the creatures of God is just like loving the God Himself... Its origin are most likely from the Greco-Roman Constantinople or even earlier. Constantinople remained predominantly Greco-Roman in population and culture well into the modern period. The Sultans probably culturally appropriated this cultural artifact of the ancient days was enforced rigidly as they were want to, resulting in cats acceptance to this day.

    • @aydintb
      @aydintb 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ramseyr2852 It is more like related to the spiritual nature of Turkish people in Anatolia. If you look for other animals in the Anatolia, you will see how people respect to animals in general. for example, right now the west calls doves as 'flying rats', but they are free to fly and live anywhere they like in Turkey. They can go sh*t on top of any building. no one will try to get rid of them. the only exceptions are 'religious' people. they show behvaious similar to the western people. Also check for the first hospital in the world for flying birds (stork, etc).. you will see, they were opened in Anatolia by Turks in 1800s.. When storks were migrating, sometimes, some of them were injured. that hospital were used to treat them so they can heal and fly back.

    Please stop equating Turkey's love for cats with Islam- it's pretty insulting to Turks, especially those who are not Muslim. I see you haven't traveled to Islamic theocracies, where there are just as many street cats, but they are NOT well taken care and suffer tremendously. This system for cats in Istanbul and elsewhere in Turkey is uniquely TURKISH. In fact, you will see Arab tourists NOT care for the cats- I've seen Arab tourist literally LEAVE restaurants because a cat was sitting a table or roaming around the tables. The Turks will just pet them and feed them.
