Oh gosh, I'm not sure, I'd suggest checking by toggling the coin drop through the mech to see if the free play isn't working properly. I don't own the Space Gambler it is gone (it is my brother-in-law's and he has it back now).

I am not aware of any current listings. I'd say the four best places to look for used pinball machines to buy are: 1) Pinside (this is an online pinball forum; it has a marketplace section and you can search listings or place a want-to-buy ad) 2) Facebook (there are some pinball buy/sell groups) 3) eBay 4) Craigslist

The back legs are exposed 2 and 1/4 inches. The full leg piece length is 3" so a portion of that is in the gap for them.

Condition plays a huge part. Without knowing details I'd say around $1,500 if working. It is the most popular Atari and a lot of Superman collectors are interested in it.

First time getting that jackpot at the end of Chaos, it was far more valuable than expected.

Poor Hoops, it does the best it can! Never could get past the clunk in Transformers to find the fun in it, but I know a few collectors who are fond of that pin.

Yes, if you like the older EM style, as this follows a lot of that design philosophy (despite being solid state). Spinner shot is fun to hit, good risk/reward for going for the side drops. I do recommend raising the back legs and putting the tilt relatively tight, to keep it at high challenge (ball times were longer than I expected, as the outlanes are not particularly risky if they have the rubber rings installed).

I make this question because that's one to sell in my country (Portugal) and i'm thinking to buy it...... the only diference is the backglass, is not the same.... in that years (70's) all the pinball machines as the backglasses changed, but the playfield is the same..... i prefer the old machines of 70's & 80's!! Yes, I was really impressed with it. Here in the U.S. it is uncommon for us to see European manufactured games, and they tend to be in lower demand (likely due to concerns that it might be hard to source parts). If the game plays and the displays are working, then I think it is worth getting. I've heard the Spanish companies followed a philosophy of "easy to learn, hard to master" and that seems to show in Space Gambler's rule-set.

We can not forget that we are talking about a machine from 1978 so, a game with simple rules! Yes, I have not seen it yet but the seller says it works 100%! The price is 500 € or 559 USD .... what do you think about? It is expensive? It is true that's no easy to find parts..... if you give me your mail I can send you pics of the pinball machine. It's funny that, here in Portugal they put the backglass name - FLASH BASEBALL - a typically American sport, eh, eh, eh .....

Price sounds good. The one was $500 and needed several switches fixed and a coil replaced. We (we're a podcast) can be reached at eclecticgamerspodcastATgmail.com with email. I worked on this game as a project that was a gift for someone else, so I only had a little time with it but since we're don't see them much I wanted to take some video.

Warming current. You're mostly correct. Atari did that with their Generation 1 board sets. Which was all their released games except two. Hercules and Superman are Generation 2, and can have LEDs in the GI and feature lamps. This one only has LEDs in the GI (and to light the backglass).

Indeed. Thought about doing it for the LED example but since the incandescent was already recorded I went with keeping it consistent for the side-by-side. Next time I'll try to remember!
