How to Swap the Back off of an Olympus Infinity Stylus (Mju)
มุมมอง 7793 ปีที่แล้ว
I recently came across another Olympus Infinity Stylus at a local thrift store. I was going for around $6. The cover wouldn't close because the lens was extended out and stuck there due to not having any power. Once I brought it home and threw a new battery in the camera it worked like a charm, the only thing that bothered me was the rear window was missing on the back of the camera. Luckily I ...

It's recommended to use a dark bag and transfer it back into the cannister or cutting the 35 so you can Finnish the roll in a nother camera

Mamiya made a dedicated 35mm back with mask and new screen conversation for their 645 range , also Yashica 635 TLR with again conversation kit although the 35mm mask is already on the viewing screen in red .. Both you can re wind the film with out taking the film out of the backs to rewind on the 635 the 6 stands for 6x6 which is 120 and the 35 relates to 35mm film I think . Both very good cameras .

I've done this alot. You got 7 frames and then "jammed" because you ran out of film on a 24 exp roll. You wasted about 5-6 frames just loading your back. I made strips of backing paper the width of 135 film and made a leader with a start arrow and attached that to the beginning of the film. If you bulk load, you can put a tail on the canister first before bulking loading film, so that you wont have exposed film when you open the back, obviously with a 2nd adapted canister acting as a light proof take up spool. 220 backs will let you use a 36 exposure roll for 18+ frames on 645. Framing is helped by creating a mask for the ground glass. I just took a piece of paper and used a 645 negative and one of the adapted 135 negatives as guides to cut out the appropriate sized hole. In regards to the focal plane and lack of backing paper, a 220 back wont have that issue, though I have never seen it as a problem using 120 backs. With further rising film costs, this is a legitimate option. In addition to the "short" panos, also works well with tight full body portraiture, and playing around with macro as you are using the optically best central portion of the lens and getting that medium format look, on 135.

You can rewind on a mamiya 7. 645 cameras except the Bronica etrs aren’t the best for panoramas. And for the Bronica it requires an expensive adapter that enables 60 x 35 mm shooting, or rather images of 56x24 mm without the sprockets.

I've tried this in a 645 camera and in that format I thought it wasn't worth it. However, in a camera that provides a wider image it is more interesting visually. Also, recently I've seen people recommend using 220 settings if shooting 35mm in a medium format camera and that made all the sense because 220 provides more shots etc.

If you’re thinking about buying a T4 or any other hyped up camera, and you have the money, just buy it. Otherwise you’ll just buy cameras that are recommended to be just as good as the T4, until you actually get the T4, and end up spending more. If you don’t have the money and want good optics and not the hype, there are good alternatives for cheaper. Hell you can even get an old SLR and slap on a Zeiss lens on it. For point and shoots I would recommend a Chinon 3001, Pentax PC35AF, or Nikon L35. But think about what you want it for. Snapshots? A disposable will do. Instagram? Any 35mm camera will do. Portraits? SLR will give you better control over a point and shoot. Landscapes? Medium format is wonderful. I can’t justify spending over $200 for a T4 especially when you consider their age.

When you bought the adapters didn't you get 2 sets? You need a second set to go on a dummy 35mm canister in place of the take-up spool. That keeps it from jamming, and you can unload the camera in daylight. You also need a mask of some kind to hold the film flat. Probably not really worth it.
