BYD looks ok at least from a growth perspective. I agree that Buffett sold on the 7X return. He bought it right. They spend just about the most on R&D (8.5% of revenue) as any EV company and, like Tesla and others are aiming for home and utility battery markets. Their earnings and dividend look reasonable and their cash position VS liquidity is ok. None of this matters as their growth is cuckoo. If you put them on the same growth arc as Tesla was in the past, I'd say BYD is more stable....of course they don't have Musk. Chinese EV market should work out for BYD as the smaller players fold or get acquired. BYD has some cash or at least a pile of shares to buy a company if they wish. Like Tesla has experienced, BYD will show lower market share numbers for China as the EV sector grows. They have 34% of NEV's in China now. Kind of like Ford in 1919 who had about 50% of the US market. when is Tesla going to pay a dividend? Musk doesn't need to pay a dividend....he's on the front page of the internet every day!

Your video is lacking one important fact. I don´t know if you know anything about Dresden factory, but there is almost no way a different manufacturer can produce whole car in there. Dresden Glass manufacture was build to produce VW phaeton a flagship model, it is build almost in the city center in one corner of the city park. Therefore it contains no sheet metal stamping line, no welding line and no painting line, to keep the emissions as low as possible. When VW phaeton was produced there, the body shells were produced and painted at different factory, then delivered with trucks/trains to a logistics center then loaded to cargotrams, that delivered them to the factory. There is very limited storage space on site thus the need of separate logistics center elsewhere in the city. Currently the use of Dresden factory is even more strange as with Phaeton. Now they are not producing a flagship but more price oriented EV ID3. The same car is being produced in Zwickau factory just 122km away. Whole body shell is produced there, all components from suppliers go to Zwickau first and then they are repacked into trucks and delivered to Dresden (cargo tram is not used anymore). So VW is keeping production of the same car in two very neerby factories almost everything is produced in Zwickau and up to 35 non assembled cars are shiped to Dresden daily just to assemble them. The factory works only on one shift and only on workdays.

No way.

The Lucid AMP-2 factory is building cars for the middle east region and possibly also for Europe. Lucid LCID is up 11.6% in the last month - WHY? Because the Gravity 7 seat three row SUV has started production. The Gravity will sell well and has a 6x TAM (Totally addressable Market) ie., most people want SUVs not sedans - the Lucid Air is a sedan, which is why sales have been a lot less than Lucid originally expected. The Gravity has 450 EPA miles of range in a single charge - THIS IS INDUSTRY LEADING!!!!! This is why the Gravity will sell like hot cakes. The Lucid Air sedan has industry leading range of over 500 miles of range - better than any TESLA. Peter Rawlinson was chief engineer at Tesla for the Model S & X. Peter Rawlinson (not Elon) made the Tesla Model S the success it was. British born Peter Rawlinson is an engineer at heart with one of the best EV track records in the business. He was the engineering brain behind Tesla’s first proper production car, the Model S, designed the platform for the Th!nk electric city car that was eventually bought by Ford and has also had stints at Jaguar, Lotus and Corus Automotive. When Peter left Tesla and went to join Atieva (which then became Lucid Motors) he brought a lot of Tesla engineering talent with him. Lucid’s first car - the Lucid Air - has been named World Car Luxury Car of the Year and has won many other accolades. Lucid motors & battery packs power every single Formula E race car and they also have a deal to supply Aston Martin with their EV powertrain. Lucid is following Tesla's play book - start out with an expensive vehicle and steadily come down to more affordable vehicles. The Lucid Air is currently their cheapest version stating at $69,900 and goes upward to the top of the range Sapphire at a start price of $249,000. Every EV startup will lose money when they first start manufacturing - even Tesla took 17 years before coming profitable. Lucid is approx 60% owned by the Saudi PIF. The Saudis want to bring auto manufacturing to the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia, an oil state, was famously part of the talks to take Tesla private, though it never went through with it, and it invested a lot of money in Lucid Motors instead, and now has the Lucid AMP-2 a factory in the country. After the Gravity has ramped up Lucid's next vehicle is "Project mid-size" which will be a Tesla Model Y/3 competitor due out in 2026. The Lucid Air outsells the Tesla Model S and the Gravity will easily outsell the now very dated Model X as it has over 100 miles more range than the Model X.
