Tesla S Plaid at Podium Club Attesa, CCW
Tesla S Plaid at Podium Club Attesa with @ProAutoSports, CCW configuration.
@UnpluggedPerformanceTesla racing equipment.
Best lap time 1:38, top speed 166 mph. Could be much improved cleaning up a few mistakes (my first time in the CCW config). Was also trying a new wing - it kept folding down into parachute mode, killing my straightaway speed.

Very nice hitting the apexes!

What app are you using for this? Great driving. Ps saw you at refuel 2015...but you weren't there this year?!
Thanks ! Taking a break looking for a new electric car for racing. Can't believe it's been a year ! I certainly miss it. The camera is AIM SmartyCam HD with accompanying software. Not very consumer-friendly, being a professional product, but it has GPS hookup and accelerometer that are very accurate. I then use "Video Edit Master" software to do the editing and assembly of fragments into the final video.
Does running the heater on full blast improve run time before power limiting? My understanding is the car will use waste heat from the motor/battery to heat the interior after they have warmed up. It should be low power draw other than the blower fan motor.
Nope. I tried it before, but it did not make a bit of a difference. You are likely correct, but the impact of it is probably negligible, at least for track use.
I see improvement! That corkscrew chicane must have been fun. At 8:08 the sound went much more quiet. What happened?
Thanks ! That's a good question. At that mark the video switched to another session, but not really sure why it's so much quieter. As if I ran with my windows up (don't recall doing that though).

Pretty cool. So quiet. Wouldn't it go faster and also be able to drive all day and drive home with an engine (minus batteries???
Thanks Mario. We are getting there with electric cars. I do both on the track and to/from the track driving. Charging is a challenge for track use in most cases (but need to say that charging is not a challenge for off the track use). But I look at it as an opportunity rather than a detriment. Tesla superchargers is the answer, and they are building out the network, just going to take a bit of time. For this particular event, Tesla brought in portable Superchargers, so yes, in fact some 40+ Teslas were all able to drive all day and back home. On the subject of speed, a gasoline engine car would not necessarily be faster. Tesla MS is electronically limited to 125 mph, but to my knowledge it's just for safety reasons for the first production line roll out. If the electronic limit is removed, the car can go about 180mph, I was told. The main purpose behind us engaging in this activity is to promote sustainable energy transport and prove that electric vehicles can stand on equal ground with their counterparts. I would say it's been successful to some degree, but some challenges do remain, like overheating, charging, or car weight.But it's something that we are looking forward to being improved in hopefully near future.
Tesla Racing Good going... and nice driving by the way.
Looks like you're driving cleaner lines
Thank you. Not as much as I should, but it was my first time on this track, and it's more difficult than I anticipated. So I was still trying to feel the track and adjust. Definitely a lot of room for improvement. I'm getting there, slowly but surely :)
Tesla Racing I used to ride from Vancouver BC each year to watch bike races there in August - I loved hearing your wahoos as you went up the hill and through the corkscrew - I used to hang out there during the races as that's where a lot of action takes place
