The King of the Bamboo Tent singing a masterpiece. This is one of the greatest pioneers of this artform who totally dominated the "tent singing" arena for many years.

My father singing for lord, love you papa
A very rich voice with astounding melody executed by a person who can truly carry the title of Ustad,
classical singing at it's best,
On this list of classical Bosses!!!
One of the more underrated ckassical legends. He could pull some strong raag.
Agreed, James did his Horis quite well. Incidentally, this bhajan is in raag Kaafi, Dennis.
Dennis Mahabir Dennis, I like how you comment on the raag of the some of these songs. There are raags meant for daytime, others for nightime. The theory is that the raags have their own set of wavelengths based on the SAREGAM scale. The wavelengths from these raag syngergize with the predominant wavelengths in the ambient atmosphere which, is different according to the amount of sunlight, in a process now know to modern science as "wave harmonics", apparently known to India for hundreds of years. This syngery of the electromagnetic spectrum affects the release of dopamine and seratonin in the brain, triggered by the auditory cortex of the brain, to produce a trance like state. Thats why you see people with their heads down at some hindustani classic concerts, not because they are sleeping, but they are , in effect, being "held" by the raag. Some songs I hear instantly trigger memories from decades ago, because of the effect that song/raag had on my brain. People with alzheimers disease can similarly have memories triggered. Music is very powerful, hai na?
There is no one better!
Yes, James always did a top job with the horis. This song is a true hori and not Trinidad styled at all. The tune comes from India, the taalas and way it is portrayed with the Trinidad "Barti". differentiates it from the original from India.. Very good job As a matter of info, listen to K.L. Saigals, "Mai jo dinan ke hori" Please do not compare. This is just for educational purposes .
Reminiscent of the reason why you are considered one of the best Horee singers to have graced the landscape of Local Indian Classical Singing in Trinidad and Tobago. It brings back the memories and is very indicative that every effort must be made to keep this unique artform alive.
