We converted a Ram Promaster 1500 136" WB cargo van to a "Camp-Her-Van" in the most basic way possible. We loved traveling in her. There are some tips and tricks in the Playlist "Van Build". We did sell "Campy 2.0" a few years ago and now are adding videos of our travel adventures and tips that might help others with different projects.
Day 2-Longitudinal Cruise-Milwaukee to Mackinac Island
Enjoyed beautiful weather to set sail to Mackinac Island. Was so lucky to get to visit with a dear college friend, Lori, before we left Milwaukee and headed into Lake Michigan.

Geese on High Lake
มุมมอง 2172 หลายเดือนก่อน
Geese mate for life. For better or worse. In 2023, Mama sat on her eggs for 40 days. Nothing hatched. Papa was by her side every day. In 2024, Mama and Papa welcomed a family. From the minute they were born, Mama and Papa had their heads on a swivel checking for any dangers. Amazingly, they kept their whole family safe. They did it as a team. Mother Nature at her finest.
Burro Race 2024 Leadville, CO
มุมมอง 5233 หลายเดือนก่อน
Boom Days is a time to celebrate and remember the mining days in Leadville. Burros were a critical part during that time as they worked in the mines and they carried supplies for those seeking to make their fortune in search of gold and silver. The race is a tribute to the people and burros who mined in Leadville.

Isle of Skye-The Quiraing
มุมมอง 1185 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Quiraing is at the north end of the 20 mile long Trotternish Ridge and the Old Man of Storr is at the south end. We hiked both and while both are other worldly, The Quiraing takes it to another level. Simply stunning, jaw-dropping and breathtaking.
Isle of Skye-Old Man of Storr
มุมมอง 1095 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Old Man of Storr is part of the Trotternish Ridge which looks a bit like a backbone running North and South down the Aisle of Skye. Weaker Jurassic sedimentary rocks were overpowered by the weight of several lava flows and, under the pressure, the Jurassic rocks sheared along the N-S faults and created the most otherworldly beauty running from the Old Man of Storr to The Quiraing. The Old M...
Isle of Skye-Cuillin Hills Hotel

After our wonderful West Highland Way hike, we headed to the other worldly, incredibly beautiful Isle of Skye in search of blue skies and more spectacular hiking. We were thrilled with our time there and we enjoyed a relaxing 3 day stay at the beautiful Cuillin Hills Hotel in Portree.
Day 9 WHW Kinlochleven to Fort William
มุมมอง 3356 หลายเดือนก่อน
16 miles in the rain made for a long, tough day but we did it!! Looking back on each day gave us a real appreciation of the absolute beauty of Scotland and the hospitality of the Scots. We loved every step of the way, no matter what Mother Nature offered us for weather as she outdid herself in the landscapes and animals along this very special 96 miles.
Day 8 WHW Kingshouse to Kinlochleven
มุมมอง 3096 หลายเดือนก่อน
Ready to tackle Devil’s Staircase. And we did it in a variety of weather! All of that was a piece of cake compared to the steep decline into Kinlochleven. Tough on the knees. But the stunning scenery for this entire section made it all worth it.
Day 7 WHW Inveroran to Kingshouse
มุมมอง 3386 หลายเดือนก่อน
We went from one great place for food and hospitality to another. And we got to cross the Rannoch Moor and drink in the most beautiful scenery. Fresh snow covered the mountains, which was a surprise for mid-April, but it made it all even more magical.
Day 6 WHW Tyndrum to Inveroran

Day 5 WHW Inverarnan to Tyndrum

Beautiful highland vistas. Baby lambs! Mild weather and the best packed lunch BLT sandwich from Beinglas Farm to celebrate the halfway point in our journey. We continue to be delighted with each step.
Day 4 WHW Inversnaid to Inverarnan

Toughest section of the West Highland Way! But great sense of accomplishment and rewarded with views of the Highlands. A great day!
Day 3 WHW Balmaha to Inversnaid
มุมมอง 3246 หลายเดือนก่อน
Beauty all around despite lots of rain. Long 14 miles, especially the last 3 as there were boulder scrambles and intense water crossings combined with muddy paths. It was a wonderful hike today.
This truly is a trip of a lifetime! I miss you already! Enjoy this amazing adventure ❤️
I’m so glad we got to see you! Thanks for making time for us. Hope our next visit will be longer ❤
It was so fun to see you!
This sounds like an amazing adventure. Looking forward to following along.
Great video thanks - I have been staring at the blobs of mastic on my 2014 Promaster floor after trying a few ways to get them off. I'll hit it with the heat gun and try my electricians pliers with the twist and pull approach next. I was about the give up and try some lesser method of insulation. Cheers (from five years in the future). UPDATE: my blobs of mastic absolutely don’t come up that easily… Maybe it’s because the van is older or something. It’s almost impossible to get the stuff off. I’ve been shaving it and cutting it with a chisel, but that is so laborious and it damages the floor. I might try to find a way to leave it on and work around it.
Ugh! Good luck. I would guess, as you say, that age has made it brittle. I wonder if you could sand it down just to get the lumps smooth? Good luck!
Lovely....hope you're both keeping well. Davey xx
Hi Davey! We are doing well. We have enjoyed watching our goslings grow up. It was amazing to see them grow so quickly. We were recently on a trip to the Arctic. Working on those videos now. It was amazing. Hope you are well!!
@@camphervan2398 Looking forward to seeing them. Sadly, I've not been able to put together the videos from the walk I met you both on yet, been too many unforeseen things happen, but hopefully soon will be out of that and will get back to normal and resume where I had to leave off. Xx
@@daveycannsings We are sending positive thoughts and energy across the “pond” to you. Life takes funny turns sometimes. Hope “back to normal” is around the next turn. xx
Look at my sister go! I’m so proud of her!!!!!!❤️
@@KrissySmithHaugh hey K-Ho…I will pass on the kind words!!
Brrrrrrr. As always, daring mixed with full on style and grace! Also, kudos to the videographer and cinematic director. Nice. Thanks for bringing us along for the very cold ride. xoxo
Always happy to have you along. Dress warmly xoxo
Betsy, you're amazing!!!!!
I would have to agree. She is!!
And you as well Anne, Love you two!!!!!!!!!!!
You didn't make much comment on the Inversnaid accommodation or post much video. What was your view of staying there. I have really enjoyed following your trek.
Hi Joseph. You really pay attention! We chose the Inversnaid Hotel as it was right on the WHW and we knew it would be a touch day so we wanted to just walk in our accommodation without any additional walking. While there were other places to stay in Inversnaid that sound much cozier, it would have required an additional mile uphill and we knew we didn’t want to do that after the first half of the Loch Lomand section. The Inversnaid Hotel is a bus tour hotel so it did not have the charm of the other places where we stayed. However, it served our purposes, had a pub, had a restaurant where they fed us a set meal with pre-determined seatings based on the bus tours that day. I will say the staff at the hotel was lovely and we got a good night’s rest and stepped directly onto the WHW the following morning after our breakfast. It worked out fine for our needs.
After watching your W.H.W. videos I backtracked to your prep. videos. Annie does a great job of getting the content and you add the comments and fill in the story. A great team effort and a really enjoyable watch. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the kind words. The WHW was a special trip!!
You are everything that makes a great watch. You have embraced the country the people and the food and your enthusiasm is very contagious. If I ever get the chance to do this walk you will be my inspiration.
Hello ladies, loving your videos. Done this walk years ago and it's amazing. So glad i met you on the WHW. Can i ask a question, Betsy...did you ever do stand up?. You look like a lady i've seen somewhere doing a routine about stepping inside a rubber band. Was that you?. Davey xx
😂 Betsy has never done stand up comedy. I think if someone offered a billion dollars to do it, it would never happen. Davey, we hope you are doing well!! So good to hear from you!
I could tell from your attitude that you both really enjoyed the W.H.W. I am so pleased that you gave out positive vibes and enjoyed the total experience to the full. You have probably done more to promote this than many UK walkers.👍👍
We loved the WHW and have told so many of our friends they really should do it. What a unique and beautiful experience! Thank you for your kind words 😊
Dang. So beautiful
It really is!! I have never done such a beautiful hike.
Oh my goodness ladies, I love your videos. I have never been to the Isle of Skye, but it’s definitely on my bucket list now🥰
Thank you for the kind comments. Scotland is beautiful but Isle of Skye takes to another level!
Hi. Just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you how much I enjoyed your WHW videos. I’m from just down the road in San Antonio and am currently planning my trip. Thank you for all the great inspiration.
Thanks Mike! You’re going to love the WHW! I highly recommend training 3 months before you go and use hiking poles. You have lots of great Texas State Parks near you to get some miles in!!
Well done. Beautiful scenery even when it rains👍
Beautiful scenery and your food looked delicious. Looking forward to watching more of your holiday 👍
Scotland is a beautiful country! It’s fun to see it all again through videos ❤
Thanks for posting! That last day is the one I’m most worried about! Nice to see you completed it.
You’re welcome. As long as you train for mileage before hitting the trail, the last day is no problem. The last 3 miles into Kinlochleven were just brutal in my knees. That was my toughest moment but I did it. I would have worn compression knee supports had I known. But the whole hike is amazing!! Do train before the hike. It makes all the difference 😁
Thanks for the great videos - have a great trip back!
Thanks Kip. We loved every minute of our time in Scotland!
Nice! Thanks for bringing me along on your trip.
It’s been a great trip!!
I am very jealous of you both as I want to do this walk myself, but still I love to see visitors to my country enjoying the amazing scenery (and being so accepting of our four seasons in a day type of weather. Have a great time, and come to visit us us again.
You can do it!
That is one hell of a hill!
My huffing and puffing added drama
Another nice video.
Thank you. It’s fun to re-live the hike!
I'm British and Take my hat off and doff my head to you both. Well done. Beautiful but hard and Harsh . The video is well done 👏
Maxwell, thanks for the kind comments. Did you do the WHW? Since you used the word “harsh”, it sounds like you might have done a bit of it!! We’re glad we did it!
@camphervan2398 I've done the Coast to Coast in England 🏴. Also several Walks in Wales .I Live next to Derbyshire Peak District. So whilst I was Able I walked, Mountain biked all over it .Most Weekend. I enjoy watching people like yourselves walking in beautiful Countryside now .
What a great trip!
We just finished all 96 miles of it yesterday. We are now on Isle of Skye ready to hike Old man of Storr tomorrow!!
Thanks for sharing! Doing this in about a month and I’m 68!😉👏🏼
You’ll love it. Be sure to train and work up to a 13 or 14 mile hike so you’re ready. Have really good, broken in boots. We had waterproof boots and I’m glad we did. Rained 7 days out of 9. And have good hiking poles. Have a blast!!
Lol....Hello Annie and Betsy, told you I didn't photograph well now. Davey xx
Davey!!! You found us. Hooray ❤ I was looking on Facebook and You Tube to try to connect with you. I did find videos from days gone by of you singing. You have a lovely voice. So where are you now? Our last day was a slog. Rained all day but we finished!! One of the highlights of our hike was meeting you!!Hope you are doing! well. I have a nice photo of you by the river and wanted to send it to you. How can I get it to you?
@@camphervan2398 I was rained off in the end as my tent failed then my poncho failed the day later over the hills to Bridge of Orchy. Ended up in a hotel in Glasgow for two nights thanks to my Cousins Joyce and Marjorie. Marjorie is the lady laird at Glengorm Castle outside Tobermory on Mull. Been back South a week now and looking at new tents and alternative waterproofs for the next one. My Sue and I might be moving to Edinburgh later this year, if so and you ever visit Scotland again you and Betsy will be more than welcome anytime. I'll be in touch via the other youtube channel when I can, ok. I have lots of editing to do as well and some videos in gear that failed me. You both, plus all the staff at Beinglass campsite, my two cousins and everyone I met on that walk were all amazing. It was a sheer pleasure to meet you both and hope to keep in touch. Take care for now, all the very best, Davey. Xx
The hiker in the kilt added a special effect!
Davey is a colorful character and really sweet fellow. We’re glad we met him on the trail!
Great editing! Beautiful countryside
Thanks. It’s amazing what you can do with iMovie and an iPhone!!
Wow, just wow
"Vodka Zero"
The Scottish have a great sense of humor!
Beautiful country which it looks like you have all to yourselves!
We’ve come across maybe 15 or 20 other hikers. It is very early in the season. We love it!
It looked a bit muddy on the trail, so it’s a good thing you got to stop at Dryman in case you needed to dry out your feet!
Had to go a bit further to Drywomen 😂. Our gear is keeping us dry as it is a bit “squidgy” on the trail
The landscape looks amazing - where are the other hikers? You have the whole place to yourself!
We came early in the season to avoid the midges (biting insects), crowds and hopefully have good weather. It’s beautiful
I loved a) the “water feature” and b) your rendition of the bonnie banks of loch lomand.
Love, love, love that you're sharing this!!
It's beautiful there. Have a wonderful time. We're looking forward to seeing frequent updates!
Woo Hoo so exciting! You both look sooooo happy and bundled up! Have fun we’ll keep checking in on ya! Vikki
Thanks Vikki. We start today and it’s sunny!
Your videos are always enjoyable. Have a good trip! Let’s see those walking sticks. Interesting to see what you selected.
We bought the same poles we use at home. We couldn’t carry them on the plane and feared they’d be lost as checked baggage so we took the safe route! We start today and the sun is out!!
Great videos - looks like a fun trip so far!
It is!
Thanks Ed. I hope your van build went well!
Have super trip! We followed some your video ideas in building out our RM Promaster. Thanks
Wishing you good luck! From New Zealand
Thanks! We're looking forward to it. Have. you done the WHW?
I noticed that you removed the rear door light, did you add a different light to the existing wire? or leave it un-used? thanks.
Gorgeous!
Absolutely gorgeous presentation my friend. Outstanding upload 👌
Love the music, who is it? Also Ty, I really enjoyed this video!
Where did you find your vinyl flooring?
We went to a flooring store, looked at samples and then ordered what we wanted.
@@camphervan2398 better idea than lowes or home depot, thanks. Hope you are all happy and healthy.
Plastic underside looks like a great idea. Where is it from and whats it called, Cant seem to locate it at Lowes or home depot. Thanks
Found it at lowes, Thanks
@@BTflicks great! I'm glad you found it. I was just watching the video again to jog my memory : )
I started removing my panels 2018 1500, broke a couple of the plugs, Where did you purchase extras? Thanks.
I believe I found some on Amazon. Since I didn’t replace all the panels, I actually had plenty of the Christmas Tree plugs left. I built a headboard so I didn’t put a panel back in that spot and I had plugs left over to use if I did break others.
@@camphervan2398 Thanks, I just remembered that I am adding a window, so I dont need any. Added killmat yesterday as to your great instructions. Thanks again for your guidance.PS buttons are on ebay and amazon 5 for $25. (crazy)
