Awesome 😅❤😅
👌🏻💯💯
3 30s with some vertical. Nice!
On your hike so far, have you seen any bears or mountain lions?
Please tell me you hiked this a month or more ago. I can't believe all the snow!
You talk too much.
Please hold shots of the signs for a beat or three so we can read them. Otherwise, great video. 👍✌️
Great stuff. Like how you shoot, hike simultaneously. Creates the sense we are on the trail with you. Stopped doing these early-season hikes because they are SO cold at 10k-plus.
Please stop for one second and show us that trail sign.
HEATER!! What’s up lady? Haven’t seen you some Julian
Awesome thunder bumpers....great video ...thank you
How has no one commented on this video?? I just recently discovered your videos of the trail and enjoy the natural sounds of the trail as you hike. I have a lot of catching up to do - assuming your feet are all healed up because I see lots of videos to watch. lol
Really nice scenery. Never been there. Looks like a lot of empty land out there, and mostly unknown about? I suppose most years would already be dry by the time you were there, but because of our super winter a later water availability? Thanks for sharing!
Wow! That highway blocked by rocks and still uncleared snow. And those slow-to-heal burn areas give it all a surreal apocalyptic essence. Weird, but I liked it.
Red touches yellow, kills a fellow. Red touches black, friend of Jack Red touch yellow, kills a fellow. Red touch black, venom lack. Red touch yellow, death says hello. Black touch red, keep your head. Yellow touch red, you be dead. Red touch black, eat Cracker Jack. Red and yellow mingle, bite feel a tingle. Red and black hug, sing a song, you lug. Red and yellow cohabitate, soon you will suffocate. Red and black together, in for sunny weather. Red leans on yellow, legs turn to jell-o. Red leans on black, keep a strong back. Yellow brushes red, snake gets fed. Red brushes black, snake gets no snack. Snake of black and yellow and red, soon a stupid rhyme is said. -Jack Loticus 1862
You’re doing great! Keep it up❤
Thank you! Will do! 😁
Hike date???
That's a California King Snake. Theu're non-poisonous. Don't see them often. The saying goes red on black, friend's a jack.
@MalFunktion1. Red touch Black, friend of Jack; Red touch Yellow, harmful fellow.
pan slower, give your camera a chance to resolve images and your viewer time to enjoy the scenery.
12:03 is that Chicken Spring Lake? Excellent vlogging BTW.
Yes
Great video! Loved the minimal talking, with just natural nature sounds. Can you show more camp building, set-up, and cooking? Thanks!
Sure thing! ❤
Bravo Zulu
AMAZING
Love the adventure. King snake?? Non poisonous I believe!
Congratulations on the summit ! Have a wonderful hike !
The snake @ 2:50 is a California whip snake.
Bravo........snake freind.......king snake......eats rattlers.......cheers
Conditions on that section of trail are getting better and better. Looks like they had a lot of dirt trail for quite a while, somewhere north of Olancha Pass. I'm curious where the trail began being covered with snow again, all the way to Whitney Creek. I want to section hike from Kennedy Meadows South to Cottonwood Lakes Campground without having to deal with snow.
What if you go from Kennedy, Monanche, Stawberry, Big Whitney, than take the trail up over Cottonwood Pass ? lower elevation. Don't know the trail condition to Cottonwood pass.
@@gregoryfarris4801 I think if I wait for another 3-4 weeks the snow will be cleared from the trail all the way to Cottonwood Campground. The Codgers just restarted their trip from KM last week and they said the trail was clear for the first 20.5 miles, so the next 20 miles should start melting.
@@rkatrails Last time in Monanche was August 2022. 1972 I worked at Casa Vieja. Got 3 days off. Saddled a horse, packed a mule, stayed over night at Tunnel, lunch in Mulkey Meadows, overnight at Olivas Cabin with Henry and Ethal, then across Monache to Casa. Have a good trip.
wow you are amazing
Nice video! Agree with the previous comment.
Red and yellow kill a fellow, red and black venom lack. So that snake was harmless.
Great hike!! No trail crew or Rangers yet??? I'm out 7/2 Kearsarge to Whitney. Are both roads open???
Beautiful King snake!
Just wow. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video. I enjoy all the scenery w/o too much talking. I sectioned hiked through there twice before (2004 and 2006) so I recognized a lot of spots. I feel like I'm out there with y'all. It's a good thing you're traveling in a group because all that snow has to be a bit dangerous.
Same
it would be awesome if you would provide dates for when your videos are shot (please)
Gread video of sierras in a heavy snow year. Thanks.
Awesome video, curious when this was recorded? Have a permit next weekend coming out of Onion Valley, so I’m curious on the snow conditions. Thanks!
Nicee!!! Glad you made it safe! I will be attempting to summit it on Wednesday the 14th, hopefully I can make it up there safely! 🙏
This is in 2023?
Came here for the same answer. doesn't look like it.
I think it is June 2023

Just talked to my son Mitchell. He is heading to the trail from big bear lake now … nice to actually see where he is heading. Great video. Wendy keep on hiking! ❤ are you heading to Canada? My son is.
Thanks for sharing
About where are you now on trail
NICE LANDSCAPES AND NICE VIDEO.
Good video, not a lot of talking to the camera, spewing useless information that only the recorder cares for.🤣
I’m enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work! Jon’s Dad TH-cam.com/@JonsDadHikes
