War Thunder: The M36B2 is Meh
The M36B2 is an open-topped tank destroyer equipped with a 90mm cannon and a (pintle) mounted 12.7mm machine gun. The M36B2 has a crew of 5, 3 in the turret and 2 in the hull.
The M36B2 is an upgrade on the M36 GMC the differences between these two vehicles are:
• Increased horizontal guidance speed from 14.7 °/s to 16.8 °/s
• Reduced maximum speed from 48km/h to 40km/h
• Reduced reverse speed from 6.2km/h to 5.2km/h
• Addition of (HEATFS) round
• Stock (AP) round changed to (APBC)
• Addition of 6.5mm thick roof armour
The M36B2 90mm cannon has access to 5 types of round:
• (APBC) which has 172mm of penetration at 100m
• (HE) which has 20mm of penetration at 100m
• (APCR) which has 281mm of penetration at 100m
• (APCBC) which has 183mm of penetration at 100m
• (HEATFS) which has 305mm of penetration at 100m
The M36B2 also has access to smoke rounds.
The M36B2 has a maximum speed of 40km/h (RB) and a reverse speed of 5.2km/h (RB). The M36B2 is best used to support points and not directly attack them as your firepower is good enough to take out most tanks at its rank.
The M36B2 has a maximum armour thickness of 107.8mm and a minimum thickness of 9.5mm. The 107.8mm thick armour only covers the front of the transmission the next thickest piece of armour is the gun mantlet being 76.2mm thick. The M36B2 is open-topped so any (HE) or (HEAT) round will instantly take out all of the crew.
Key:
(Pintle) = The machine gun that is roof mounted and has a wider range of motion
(HEATFS) = High Explosive Anti-Tank fin stabilized
(AP) = Armour-Piercing
(APBC) = Armour-Piercing Ballistic Capped
(HE) = High Explosive
(APCR) = Armour-Piercing Composite Rigid
(APCBC) = Armour-Piercing, Capped, Ballistic Capped
(RB) = Realistic Battles
(HEAT) = High Explosive Anti-Tank

been playing wt since the french came out. stopped playing for a while, got an acc on my xbox for a fresh start, wanted to grind the french. rolled a talisman for the 410. i hate this thing.
I'd say that the m14/41 and m15/42 are the best of the M series of italian medium tanks due to the better motors that make them way better then the early m13/40s.
i dont play war thunder anymore but i gotta say, you are very dedicated to your channel, keep up the great work
Hey bro are you good?
Yep, relatively. Why?
5:24that was not realystic gaijin
0:09"hahaha"
It’s painful seeing him not lead enough on aircraft 😭
i don't see the problem here
Compared to the other light tanks available to France in Rank 2 the LVT-4/40 has lower combat potential because of its large size and poor gun depression. Why bring it to battle when the other 3 light tanks available are so good. It probably needs moving down in BR.
@@Thracazard LOL you think that is a light tank?! You're funny
In war thunder the LVT-4/40 is designated as a light tank, so my judgement of it is based off of that. It should be designated as an SPAA but isn’t due to the fact that people won’t pay money for SPAA especially in the Battle pass.
@@Thracazard You sure are funny, The LVT 40 which i already forgot about it's existence is a SPAA i really wished to get it but i dont. it's not a light tank it's a SPAA but it's RoF is not as good as the AMX 13 DCA 40 Like the M18 it's IRL Classification is a Tank Destroyer but in WT it's a Light tank, the T28 and Tortoise is classified as a Super Heavy tank but Gaijin calls it a TD meanwhile the Maus and E-100 stays as a Heavy tank and not a TD
@@Thracazard Also as a side note if you knew it's purpose was an SPAA and not a light tank then why are you complaining about it being a useless light tank if it's a SPAA
My favourite tank best Hungarian tank the Turán 2 and 3
Okay armour but very bad gun but good mobility
Yeah it’s not a good vehicle against tanks but in reality it was mainly used as a reconnaissance vehicle and scouting missions
How is it bad? I can consistently drop 9+ kill games with it and I’m not even that good.
I got 15 kills in it
Yeah I love the p40. I love Italian tanks in general because they are historically bad.
I dig your stickers, Makes the Tank look so much cooler
Hey! Remember me?
yeah, we played thunder a while ago.
@@Thracazard I Quit warthunder a while ago actually.
What made you quit?
I must say, I love your wt content. You have to be my favorite small WT TH-camr, one more question will you revisit tanks that you say were bad or meh in the future to see if they still deserve the rating they got?
Thanks for the comment glad you enjoy the content. I may revisit some tanks for the fun of it, but I do plan to revisit tanks that are ether moved up/down in BR and have changes made to the models/weapons. e.g. as you may know in the new update internal modules were modelled on some high ranking tanks such as auto-loaders having physical assets that when damaged affect the vehicle/gameplay, if these internal modules are added in lower ranking tanks they will have to be reassessed as these modules could drastically effect survivability.
Who the hell are you playing against! Literally every time you see a tank it should be 1-shotting you in the turret. And where are all the br5.0 German snipers 1-shotting you in the turret?
If i use the t28 IM like a god
Bro you not use the aphe
The T-28E has access to APHEBC which is used in the video, no version of the T-28 has access to APHE.
@@Thracazard oke but how IM good when i use t28
SU-122 is too scary and powerful because the canon and armor are very powerful.
Me personally I prefer the British m4 over the Chinese version
I love this truck, its extremly funny drive around at 65km/h ad shooting evrything (even if I die 2 seconds later)
yeah very much a sniper tank , where the turret traverse and reverse speed is a not such a big deal
W tank and W player tbh ;)
I hate playing against this thing, hard to 1-shot (if not using HE), it's so finicky. Great vid!
The gun handling on this is excellent. You would not have been able to get those snapshots in most vehicles because the traverse is too slow. And it has the no-armor-best-armor bonus.
Took this to 8.3 and killed leo 1 and mbt 70
god i love TD'S with roofs
Not having a crew that can be machine gunned or over pressured makes all the difference.
Wow, just wanted to say your description is incredibly detailed. That is almost all of the information relevant to war thunder, at least the basics of it. Surprised you didn't mention the BR. It's 2.0 right? I think it's a pretty good vehicle at it's BR, pretty much every part of it is "average" compared to other vehicles at the BR. While there's nothing super exceptional about it, there's also really nothing wrong with it either. Perhaps it has slightly better than average firepower, but nothing to write home about. Stabilizer is stand out too, while it's certainly not the only vehicle around that BR with one, it's still a less common feature to have, even if it's not a particularly powerful one. Not exactly scientific, but to me it feels like it has a good smooth drive too. All that combined makes it stand out to me, perhaps falsely, as having an above average speed of acquisition and kill. The only other vehicle at around that BR I can think of with comparable gun handling has to be the Stuarts, but they have less firepower, usually resulting in needing to shoot targets very accurately or many times. I think this tank however does heavily suffer from the same thing all aggressively average vehicles in war thunder tend to do.. If you're uptiered, you don't really have any stand out attribute to use to your advantage. You're not super fast, or you don't have super good pen or damage, or you don't have super good armor, meaning that you have nothing to rely on. Those are my thoughts on the silly thing anywho haha. GLHF o7 <3
Thanks for your in-depth comment. The Chi-Ha Kai is currently BR 2.3. In my experience of playing Japanese tanks they’re all quite average, out of all the tanks I’ve played (up to BR 7.7) all suffer outside of their BR (excluding the American tanks that are in the tree). I also feel all Japanese tanks requite a lot of effort to do well in.
Will be interested to see what you make of the Ho-Ni III as it was my favourite low tier vehicle for a while. Basically this vehicle but closed top and a faster reload. Both of these TDs have good gun handling, speed, reload and shells. Gun handling in particular - how quickly you can lay the gun, how much or whips back or wobbles - are often overlooked.
Amazing work keep it up
I played it today and honestly it’s one of my fav tanks in WT
Pls italia m15. 2.7
Rank 2 Italy will be done after Rank 2 Japan and China.
@@Thracazard japan ji he and long gun
This tank is very good
Bro you are inviting BOMB toward yourself 😂 0:24
Agreed it’s garbage. It was garbage at 2.7 and they still moved it up, twice.
The fact it can face 4.3 vehicles is ridiculous.
Honestly i think the Cromwell V for all of it's british-related drawbacks is one of the most fun vehicles you can use for it's BR. Sure you only get solid shot and no stabilizer, but since it's a decently high-penning 75 mil even without any filler it can reliably one shot quite a few enemies, if not cripple them severely for a safe 2-shot kill. This thing carried me through my early-game grind in the UK tech tree, with me getting atleast 3 kills a life throughout all my matches
This garbage was BR 4.7 for most of its existence. 4.7! Which meant it faced Panthers.
What no way bro, no way an oversized brick of a vehicle with little agility is bad 😂
Had those been KV1s in that first clip, the 6pdr would have sliced through them. This is why the T34 is so OP in this game. The front is just a void for shots. Such bullshit.
Dude is literally only taking out down-tier tanks and open-tops. 😄🤣
Use. APHE.
Main APHE on the 2pdr
I disagree this tank is great. You need to angle a lot more, main the APHE round, and use your smoke.
