That transformer will kill itself rather than pushing more than 400w of power. At line frequency, transformers of that size are rated at a maximum of 200w

Yeah sure the lights don't even flicker when the power tools are powered. I suppose the output is magically self regulated to 220vac 50/60hz and have pure sinewave. Also the output of this contraption can be boosted to 1 megawatt if fan is blowing the transistors.

BTW I have similar Dell supply. And I wouldn't remove the signal pin of the output connector (white) for the case I need it sometime somewhere in future for another Dell laptop. If you add normal (universal) barrel connector and the signal pin to a separate miniconnector, then you can make yourself a additional cable adapter for Dell just by connecting barrel connectors and the special pins (if you set 19.5 or 20V on the output of course). In reality I have done it this way. I'm using it as a supply for another electronic device and sometimes for my Dell laptop when I'm on route. I can use one bulk piece for diferrent devices, saving space in my baggage. But the idea adding voltage regulator is just another level. 👌

Nice idea, but every power supply of different manufacturer has different PCB and different voltage resistors. So it's relatively time consuming task to get the overview about the circuit and/or get the knowledge by experimenting with the resistors. Once you know which resistor/s to change, then it's piece of cake to add potentiometer and voltage indicator... Changing capacitor is only needed when the rated voltage is low. If it was for 35V the replacement would be not necessary. Is somewhere a database of most used power supplies with the voltage regulator resistors info (I mean IBM/Lenovo, HP, Acer and so on)?

The claim of this circuit providing 1100W is hysterical! That little 12v battery pack would have to pump out over 90 Amps and sustain that, assuming the rest of the circuit was 100% efficient. The efficiency of this circuit is likely to be around 60%. The wires going to the battery pack would go up in flames at 20 Amps, let alone 90+ Amps.. At best this circuit might sustain 40W for 30 minutes or so.
