Religion teaches moral objectivism and look where that has left out society.. at constant war. Hardly moral progress in my opinion. I’m not a student of ethics. But in a biological world subject to change and random variation, I would argue moral subjectivism to be the more reliable method of broader perception/personal interpretation that a person can rely on for self preservation at any given point in time. Moral objectivity would reinforce a very rigid and narrow point of view (even if at one point it was considered the ‘good’ or ‘right’ view). And this typically leads to the implementation of outdated and inflexible laws and policies that are incapable of supporting the full extent of natural human diversity of the generation of the time.
