Agreed. I too am in California. We've got to treat this as the profession it is. The way I see it, it's the only way our field can get the respect it deserves. I'm usually in a suit, or long sleeve shirt and slacks when I'm on an appointment. In my mind we are just as important as lawyers and doctors.

I passed my Notary Exam (thanks to all the advice you’ve provided)! Did my DOJ/FBI background check and am waiting for the docs proving my commission. I’ve be right on top of everything and it will have been about 2 months before I could begin in earnest. Just wanted to confirm that for others. Anyway, thanks JoAnn!! My new career is at my fingertips…🎉🎉🎉

Thank you for sharing these details. I intend to try this part time for a way to make money as a single parent. I believe I may try it but was concerned about buying a hefty printer/scanner that may be another $300 before I even buy any other tools. Are the tools & printer/scanner a write off? Gas a write off & even parts of our homes since we are on the phone and printing/scanning docs at home?

LOL I used EZNotary too and that’s how I passed. That 6 hours with the NNA wasn’t enough for me to retain the information

I would absolutely love to know how you started off doing your signings did you just go straight to the first one after you went through the Mark Wills course or did you feel that you needed some practice? How did you begin? Because I feel it a little nerve-racking to think about and I am just trying to find different methods and avenues to get past that point so that I can go on my first loan signing or even general Notary work

Hello. I am also a California Realtor and Notary Public. I signed up for Mark Wills’ course but never completed although I paid for it in full. Long story LOL. Anyway, I am glad I found your channel.

I learned on my own , and through you tube, coast 2 coast training for free , I do it part time , maybe I have done 20 signings but I have all high rankings so far so good , but I’m also a loan officer , so the docs are familiar to me , but I do get some weird stuff from other states that throw me for a loop so I just call the NNA hot line and or I’ll just ask the signing service to be sure . If I did more more often then I’d be definitely better , also I want to note try to ask for more money don’t sell your self short the signing companies are gouging us , you still use gas wear and tear on your car use toner ,paper scan back go to fed ex , it’s still work , some are easier and faster than others , sometimes I’m in homes were the lady will have so much perfumed candles on I’m dying and or it’s so hot I’m dying ..but it’s better than clocking into a job , which I have never done always been 1099 my whole life ..
