I am a massive Roy Orbison fan. Back in the day, I sang several of his songs in various cover bands. Once in your life you have to do a Roy Orbison Cover. This time round I had to drop the Key 4 semitones. I hope you like it. Cheers Tony. I don't own any rights to this song, this is a 3rd party cover.

Several reasons why I bought this bass, it is very cool looking,it was cheap, it is very light, it is very cool looking, Paul McCartney (Sir PM), has one, and it is very cool looking. Towards the end of the clip I kill a McCartney song, Stay Tuned for that. Cheers : Tony M
Epic 25 minute guitar solo : Howling at the Moon
มุมมอง 5597 ปีที่แล้ว
The moon was high, I had a dream about a wolf pack in my forest. The next day I improvised this guitar piece in one long drawn out improvisation (Key of E). From start to finish in one take. Jeez how good is that? Where it came from I don't know. However, if I should feel stressed, I play it loud and howl along. You should try it, great therapy !! Tony M. PS Watch out for the full moon eh? Copy...

The Blue Note Album
มุมมอง 1787 ปีที่แล้ว
In the early 80's, three very cool musicians got together and made an album based on a favorite bar called "The Blue Note". The songs all had some reference to the people who worked there. There was a limited cassette run which sold out (Sold at the Bar). Then 30 years went by, and I found a copy of the cassette which had been transferred to CD. Lost some quality. However I restored it(this is ...

the sound at 2 mins is turbo lover by priest
Dance the Fandango. (lol) I also have this beautiful instrument. I played it back in the day when I snapped the neck off my Aria Pro II CS-350 - a cut-rate but excellent copy of a Gibson SG. Although if you like Fender guitars - esp Strats - this'll blow your mind. Built at the same factory they made Ibanez axes, FujiGen Gakki co. in Japan. They come in white, black & fire red (hot) and also as the MG-500 - same thing but a weird futuristic body type. I got mine in 1987 and played/recorded with it for years. I haven't played it in a while but I'll bet it'll still work on the midi end. It was set up for 10s but I reset it for 9s, changing the action & intonation. I love everything about this guitar and it was a good value even back then at around $400 USD. Not only is it a good solid strat-like electric guitar in it's own right but add on the midi capabilities and it's just like Anthony said. I like that you can change the patches (sounds) from the guitar and either bend or change notes chromatically. A+
Their design is futuristic and timeless. Deconstructivism architecture, its like you're looking at Daniel Libeskind or Zaha Hadid architecture. I want to buy one.
Nice
Not bad ole fella
I fooled with one for a couple hours back in 1985 in a now defunct music store in my home town. I think they were having problems with it not tracking properly when the tempo was fast. If memory doesn’t fail me, it cost around $900. Canadian.
What sound module are you using?
Damn fine drummer you got there….
The great Buddy Krupa !!
this is my go to tune when insomnia hits me bad i just play it non stop till i fall asleep thanx are tony
Great taste you have. Tony
I think boss is kinda bringing this back in a way but i think everything is built in or it was straight midi. If i was right handed I would totally grab one of these if I could.
my brilliant brother tony xx
It's an all plastic Gypsy Jazz Guitar, it's a bit bigger than those cheap plastic toy guitars so it sounds more like a proper Acoustic Guitar.
THE ROLAND GUITAR SYNTHESIZER IS WHAT PEGGY JONES AKA LADY BO PLAYS . LISTEN TO HER SONG AZTEC, PEOPLE THINK BO DIDDLY IS PLAYING THIS, BUT, LADY BO WROTE COMPOSED AND PLAYED ALL GUITARS ON THIS. BACK IN THE 60S AND 70S.

I used to have a MG-510 around 1990 and it was great. As a guitar it was totally usable, and as a MIDI controller, it took some tweaking but worked great with sound modules, and it let me play pretty fast. And yes, it actually has a MIDI out connector in the guitar, there is no floor module needed. What's going with the pups on yours tho?
Have had¿for faster play, esp. professionals, to much latence.
LAS HABIA VISTO EN VARIOS GRUPOS INCLUSO ACA EN ARGENTINA.....PERO NO SABIA DE SU FUNCION......ES MUY BUENA ...
problem is having battery pack and piezo blend bolted onto side of guitar...quite off-putting in my view for a beautiful jazzer!
I also have this instrument. I will try to answer a few questions asked here. There is practically no latency at all. Unless you're Tommy Emmanuel, you won't outplay it regarding speed. The MIDI out is not like the Rowland connection. It is your standard 5 pin (original) midi connection. This allows you to plug into any midi keyboard or midi module. As a guitar, it's as good as the best guitars made in Japan in the 80's. The fit, finish, neckwork, and action are excellent. Even after the midi fails, you'll probably keep it to use as a guitar. Fail? Yes. After 10 years or more if you're lucky, the capacitors will dry out. There are schematics available but unless you're a tech, the cost would be dear to replace them. Also I should mention there is a sensitivity adjustment for each string (for midi). The guitar is heavy due to the midi components. Mine weighs in at around 9lbs. The sounds he talks about and assigns are only relevant to the midi source he's using. It will trigger whatever midi device you plug it into and as with most midi guitars, the treble strings have quicker response than the bass strings. Whether or not this is or becomes a collectors item, if you get one you'll probably keep it for a very long time. If the midi component wasn't included it would still be an excellent Strat. Probably the only mistake they made was to use the Casio name on it. I'm sure many guitarists looked at it and passed it by thinking it was a toy. Had they plugged it in and worked with it, many more would have purchased it. Regards. Any questions, just ask.
Steve I've just bought one, waiting on its arrival , I've no idea if the midi works lol, I've been looking at lots of videos on them since I ordered it , I've heard people have success changing the capacitors and getting the midi going again , but like you say the guitar is awesome quality in its own right , I hope it gives me many years of pleasure , thanks
you still answering questions on this page?
🥰🥰
I remember seeing those in Orgy Stitches such a good song
I think they're great too.
Any chance you know how many of these were made?
1502 ex. apparently
@@laurentborghart8318 Amazing, thank you. My father has one and I was wondering how rare it was
I've had one of these for years! However, I'm not a guitarist, I'm a keyboardist. I also happen to be a "Casio junkie", and can't resist buying the older Casio gear. I have TONS of it now. But, I also keep up with current Casio pro stuff, too.
I have only ever seen one person play this type of guitar live. That was in 1986 at RAF Swinderby!
this is the real rock n roll guitar
I love when i find videos like this, just a guitarist showing their guitar. It shows that all these beautifull old gretsch guitars arent locked away by collectors or stuck in a dealership who doesnt want to sell it. I love seing these old almost historic guitars that are still being played.
You might as well had wiped your ass with it
I was always led to believe Yamaha made them??
you mean bye with an e.. . .. but bye the waye the reason a person wants to hear a G40 is to assess whether Manuche can successfully be played on it. The purpose of that style of guitar is that style of music. If you could get in a proper player of that style you'd help us greatly.
Sounds are awesome, finally managed to get a G707 & GR700 and just starting to master it lol. Great video
Seems like so many bad TH-cam. Demos are done by Brits??? Guess the old Gits have lots of free time...unfortunately doesn't seem like much time practicing their instrument...
13:37 = Turbo Lover by Judas Priest
Did you ever try to reprogram the synth?
No, but I have the manuals, great if your a tech nerdy geek, which I am not. However, it has more than enough on board stuff to keep me in trouble, plus, two addition sound modules !!
Ah ah! Groovy!!! Has anybody here had problems with the latency of this controler ? How to fix it!!!! Peace _/)..
I like my red. It plays very nicely and is my lightest guitar.
Jimmy Page said this looked like "a Martian's handbag". ; )
cool
Turbo lover intro
I have a G30. Believe it or not I found it in my neighbors trash can. It is in great shape!! I had no idea (and obviously neither did he) of the value of this wonderful little guitar. Love it.
I got my g40 for $35
Were you like me and owned the guitar forever before you figured out you could pull out the bottom volume knob cuz I didn't see you do it in the video mate....lol 😂
13:56 This sound was used by Glenn Tipton on the Song "Turbo Lover" of Judas Priest in the intro.
Thanks Mr The Devil 666, I did not know that. The guitar still lives and is pretty insane. The synth itself weighs 15 tons, honestly. Cheers. Tony
yes thanks i been searching it someone said its called a branson mo
Here is a tune made with a GR 700..m.soundcloud.com/al-bedo/vostok
Does using the midi out of the Guitar synth foot controller track well with other synths?
It took me quite a while to lear how to drive it, sometimes it can be a bit slow, you need to really select your patches for fast tracking
As a guitarist that has a large effects board based on modular synthesis... I am so jealous of you... that is one fine instrument you have. Would love it if Roland brought this out again...
I have enjoyed this great Roland outfit for many years, it is crazy good!! I may sell it if I can get a ton of money> I am falling to pieces physically, these days, and have decided to sell off the balance of my guitar collection. Thanks for looking, Tony
im interested to know if it's compatible with straight midi to an interface..a buddy of mine had one of these and i feel like the roland midi was a proprietary cable?
