Welcome!
My name is Ally, I’m 25, I have 4 cats and 1 husband, I love to game, and I love fantasy books!
I’m a fantasy book reader with a dash of nonfiction (and sometimes other genres). I read queer, BIPOC, disabled, and indie books. If you’re looking for diverse fantasy with a sprinkle of everything else- you’re in the right spot!

Today's book review is for At the End of the River Styx by Michelle Kulwicki. This was a beautifully written, queer, YA fantasy book with themes of grief, love, and mental illness. Set in Portland, Oregon and the River Styx, I fell in love with Bastian and Zan. Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 0:18 Book Stats 1:01 A thank you! 1:12 Book Synopsis 2:38 Things I liked :) 3:32 Things I didn't like as much :(...

Welcome to 2025! I've had a cold for like FIVE DAYS and my voice sounds terrible. We'll start this video off by looking at my December reads, which was a pretty decent month! Then we will look at what I hope to read in January, but be warned- I am a mood reader! You'll find Indigenous authors, Black authors, indie authors, queer stories, and more in this video! Timestamps: 0:00 Intro December W...
Thank you for the book recommendation!
Sorry mostly just commenting so I can come back to see if anyone answers. But also, are there specific vibes that you liked/didn’t like?
same
Omg I should do this! I just started a booktube as well!
I’d rlly like to recommend The Outlaws Scarlett And Browne as your next read 😊
lol love me some really flirty guys ❤
I’m definitely putting this on my reading list!
I agree there are good YA books !! My favorite duology ever is Six of Crows, which i think is YA. My problem is just when the books get really repetitive, and I get tired of the standard YA romance 🥲
I love the spice rack,
This audio matches so well 😂
God forbid the last book ends on a cliff hanger
Your home is so cozy!! I cannot wait to hear all the book reviews you have! Babel has been on my TBR since forever! Welcome to booktube ☺️🤍
Wow this story sounds so interesting! I’m adding this to my TBR!
Love it!!!!
So am I the only one whose seriously crushing over this woman. So adorable!!!

I found your channel through your 100 Days of Queer Fantasy, and I love your content already! Looking forward to more videos and queer book recs from you. 😊
Thank you so much!
Hi, Ally! I'm looking forward to hearing about all bookish things you want to share with us. From an oldie content creator to a newbie, welcome aboard. We're so glad to have you here!
Hello and welcome to book tube Ally. I’m still pretty new to all this malarkey and finding my way around too. Look forward to hearing what you have to say. Best wishes with what you choose to read. Happy reading!
I loooooooved Running Close to the Wind! Did not expect to, but I was laughing the entire book! Did you read A Taste of Gold and Iron? Avra's running from the city (country?) that that book takes place in.
I haven’t yet but I want to! I’ve heard it’s a very different vibe though
Also your editing is so cute!
Thank you 🫶🏻
Oh the PowerPoint idea is sooo cute! I haven’t seen this done before
I appreciate it- everyone loves a good PowerPoint!
I read the Mistmantle Chronicles when I was younger! To be honest it was a while ago so I don't remember too much of the story but I know I enjoyed it!
I've just found your channel - thankyou for these recommends, these sound great! Also I love your crochet blanket behind you here ❤
Thanks for being here! My mom made the blanket a long time ago 🫶🏻
I love the PowerPoint wrap up vibes!!!!! It’s so fun. And the TBR pull is so smart!!!
Thank youuuu 🫶🏻🫶🏻
I deeply appreciate you addressing this! It’s 100% important for joy and enjoyment to be centered in the booktok community, however it’s ridiculous to use a term like safe space (which is political in its own way) to say that politics has no place in this community, which is a rather large and diverse place. If someone doesn’t want to utilize their hobby/passion/career of reading books as one of their ways to learning about the differences and struggles of others that is perfectly okay. However it’s completely another thing to say politics doesn’t belong in this community. Reading has always and will always be political. This world is built around being able to read and do everyday maths. And as a homebody and creative person I appreciate others taking the time to recommend books that help me learn more about others and that also helps people like me to be learned about by others.
Exactly! I don't understand how anyone can be apolitical. EVERYTHING IS POLITICAL. Education, healthcare, jobs, housing - all these basic necessities - tied to politics! As a queer poc my very existence and rights become political. It's so frustrating how books being political is seen as something debatable smh
I read the first book of ACOTAR this year and honestly I just enjoy queer romances so much more lol
Yeah, books have always been political… I mean, look at stuff like the hunger games!!! Also, I can’t say just how mad book bans make me….
This is ridiculous.let people read what they want, and don’t attack them for simply saying that they don’t want to engage in politics. Chill
don't you mean 100 days GAY
😂😂😂
THIS LOOKS SO GOOD WHATTT
I need to read it!
Ooooooo this is wonderful! Than you for doing this!!!!
Thank you for being here!
oh dear how bout i read a normal book
There's a lot of straight books out there, so knowing where the queer books are, is helpful.
Oh my gosh !!! 100 more books to read ! I was literally thinking that it’s so hard to find queer fantasy. Thank you so much !! You have a new subscriber :3 BTW I’m planning to write a queer fantasy book right now ! I don’t know yet if I’ll publish it, though
Thank you for being here! You don’t have to decide your publishing journey yet- start by writing first!
Love your outfit!
Thank you!
I like this list, its always so hard to find! However I feel like its always hard to find good quality mxm fantasy books. Do you have a list of those somewhere?
I don't have a list, but I'd like to suggest a book I really loved, called Carry On by Rainbow Rowell! It's a gay romance book set in a magical world. It's one of the most well-written romance books I've ever read.
There’s a good amount of Achillean stories in this series- Cursed Cocktails, The Reanimator’s Heart, A Second Story, The Faerie Hounds of York, The Fox and the Dryad, Angels Before Man to name a few!
That would be an interesting read, didn't know that existed
YAY!
I'm really loving this book so far ❤
the mountain crown sounds so interesting!
I’m starting the second novella today as an ARC! I think they’re so cool!
Need to keep working on mine ugg
Welp, now I have 100 more books to put on my TBR. I gotta get to reading.
oh I’ll be sad to see this series go! loved all your recommendations so far :3
Thanks for being here! Don’t worry- I’ll keep on recommending and reviewing queer books on this channel!
Thank you for doing This series I have so many new wonderful book recommendations. I didn’t even know more and then half of these books existed. Please do this next year.
Thank you for being here! I definitely won’t stop reviewing, reading, and recommending queer books!
